Planes? Shit, I'm terrified to get in my car now!

Cheers for the framerate stuff. I'd actually installed MSI Afterburner, ran Cube World for 30 mins and watched the GPU temps and absolutely no problems at all, temps never rose above 51oC.

The innkeeper thing is really useful!

It definitely needs more stuff in the world. At the moment it's too much explore, not enough adventure. But it really is quite a lot of fun still. I've had a go at a couple of dungeons/ruins type things and got my arse handed to me comfortably - feels like multiplayer content.

Also, squirrels are vicious bastards.

OK, areas with red names - very dangerous. I'm finding +4 mobs and they melt me. Blue named areas also dangerous, +1 mobs, not as bad as the +4's but still pretty much insta-death!

Tamed a few pets now and leveled up my skill so I can ride. Makes things much faster :)

It's mostly just a low level issue that I see for the lack of things in the world. If you hunt down the crossed swords you can get into some shit. I went to one hard as fuck castle full of ogres, and one open forest of goblins that was basically a loot farm with a giant melee goblin in the middle. Quite a bit of fun. My rogue is up to 4 now, and while I still feel it's hard as balls to solo, it's enjoyable.

Pets are pretty much required to pull some aggro off of you. I suspect playing this in a group and just roaming from event to event would be pretty fun.

Remember that you can upgrade your weapons, and enchant them with the shit that drops off of bosses. I just got high enough level to use my ice spirits, so now in theory my longsword slows anything I hit with it.

Bann and I just played 2 player for a bit.  Was really fun.  We spawned in and decided to make for the nearest crossed swords on the map.  We found a huge mountain we had to scale, which took us quite a while to figure out (and me gaining a level to get one more point into climbing), and then we had about a 10 minute boss fight at the peak.  Very neat.

Yeah, way cooler with 2 people. I dinged 5 and unlocked Hang gliding. Getting to glide down off the pillar was pretty awesome.

Crossed swords are castles/pillars/events of apprx. your level. You can stumble across quest stuff higher level then you, it just wont be marked on your map. If you see +monsters, you should probably book it.

I have a pet!  Apparently terriers like waffles.  You can buy waffles from a vendor.

Clearing out that orc/ogre castle solo is a beyotch (still playing my dual wield orc warrior). Thanks to learning about how to make potions (derp) I was able to clear it out, even the necromancer boss, only took about 30 potions for the whole thing and I didn't get much lewtz. Then on my way out I found half the place had respawned, a quick run and two more potions and escape was mine!

I found a collie and while I was here trying to figure out how to tame it, some gnolls rolled up and killed and then ran off again.  Marvelous!

From my experiences with bosses so far, they all seem to drop Spirits (which add elemental effects to weapons), and Platinum Coins, which let you uplevel an item to your current level as long as it doesn't say (Adapted).

But they're giant freaking hitpoint sponges.

Yep. I also found a roaming glowing purple pig melee boss with a spin attack. That entailed special attack, dodge, kite; repeat 500 times until dead.

Honestly, everything in this game is a hit point sponge. Also, all the loot I'm finding is for the classes I ALMOST picked. Probably should've made a mage.

Is there a way to regen health other than the beds in town and potions?

Ranger is squishy.  How are the other classes?

I explored as far as the boundary of my kingdom and found a teleportation ring.  Pressing R to activate opened the world map for my chunk, but I couldn't do anything.  The other kingdoms seem to be carbon copies with the same types of content.

It's a not a balance issue, but the mob-chaining (a la EQ2) sucks for Ranger.  I can't get enough down fast enough.  And they all congregate in clusters it seems in dungeons.  Got to level 6.

Food, potions, beds, water mages, unholy spirits (on hit life drain)

That's the sum total. Your pets cheat like hell and regen out of combat.

edit: And the way "kingdoms" work is that they're random biomes. I haven't found any of the other types so far, but apparently you can find snowy kingdoms, deserts, and oceans. Not sure on any others.

Ninjas are pretty bullshit once they level a bit. Auto crit on your next special attack when you dodge, special attacks are considered dodges for their duration. Which basically means you can time things and chain non stop crits all over the place.

Down side: squishy as fuck if you don't time them right, and I've started running into things I can't seem to stun reliably. I wandered to a desert biome that's mostly red to me and I've been having a blast. This game is also reminding me that well done voxel art is adorable.

I think I saw an item that had regen on it. It was for a rogue so I couldn't test it.

Also, beds include those little bedrolls you find in wilderness camps, so you can conserve potions and food by using one as a base for an area. The bedrolls inside pup tents don't work, though. I use food for all out of combat regen to conserve potions, but I'm a bit OCD about potions. Make all the potions I can, then max inventory on water bottles, then max inventory on empty bottles. Gives you a working field time of 150 potions + any found potions.

You can take 50 pumpkins and 50 pineapples from the patches outside your city without trouble and cook em up for regen.

Water mages are boss.

The raw damage of the ninja is fun, but the water mage can heal, which increases self-sufficiency by a crazy degree. Then when you get a pet, you can heal the pet in combat. Plus, the water mage's ability is way more reliable than the fire mage random chance to instant cast the next special attack.

I like the way different weapons give you different attacks, too. The system basics are good, it needs to be built out a bit more. The MMO elements should be excised. The bosses, particularly Ogres, are easy to beat, but take ages to wear down.

Pineapple slices suck, though. They're just 'oh shit I'm out of everything else'. The mushroom kebab thingy you make with onion rings (from the onion dudes) are pretty decent, though. And of course, pumpkin is ok, but 5 power.

I've tried using items with Reg stats on them, but I've never seen my hp go up. I suspect it's either not regen, or it only works when you get whole numbers of it?

I was going to buy this today, but looks like it's not happening.

First the registration was down for maintenance, then when it finally came up the store went down for maintenance, and now someone decided to start a DDoS on the Picroma site.

Found a catacombs dungeon today. It was a pretty neat little adventure.

So far my impression is that the "quests" (Crossed swords on the map) are pretty neat.  I would like to see more in between them.  The game just seems to be begging for vast cave systems to be explored with no particular major quest attached to them.  It would also reward players for actually seeing what is over that next and doing some exploration.  It will be a shame if all this is procedurally generated just to be walk ways from major quest to major quest.

The areas exist even without quests, I actually just went on a roam for a bit (and wound up level 17 on my rogue now) and hit four pyramids since they're so easy to spot in the distance. Only one had a quest assigned, but all had bosses at the end. The thing is, the quest gives you the platinum coins that I've yet to be able to spend since everything I find is useless or already adapted.

I would like to see more mines and such, or random chests in odd places to explore to. But I get the impression that the dude still hasn't finished a bunch of the end systems. I also worry that he just got filthy rich and won't bother ever finishing them now :P
