I'm hoping the offpeak US launch will help a bit with getting in.  I've already got the alarm set for 2:45am EST.  I even checked with comcast and was pleasantly greeted to an increase in speed with a quick modem reset.  Last thing I need is people to play with, but for some reason none of my friends are buyin.  :/

I'm sure you fools will still be up at 3am.

I suppose it's cool you get in first. I mean, the side of the continent you guys live on is about ready to economically collapse so you may as well get some fun in before Mussolini 2.0 shows up.

Well-played, and since I can't top any of that, I will just obsess about my Amazon tracking:

May 14, 2012    05:08:00 PM    Sparks NV US    Arrival Scan
May 14, 2012    04:45:00 PM    Sparks NV US    Departure Scan
May 14, 2012    12:48:00 PM    Sparks NV US    Shipment received by carrier
May 14, 2012    11:27:52 AM    Fernley NV US    Shipment has left seller facility and is in transit

I don't know what to make of this. It looks like the UPS driver is just driving it around Sparks NV for the hell of it.

So, North America should be live, yes?  I assume error 33 means the servers are down / hammered and try again later?

It's more useful to just post what the game breaking bug is than link to the thread. In fact, it's more useful to MAKE A THREAD ABOUT IT. Nothing would piss people off more than to not be able to play.

FUCK FUCK FUCK

Fry's ran out of CE copies. That was a fucking waste of 2+ hours. That was my 3rd Blizzard midnight launch I've been to at that store and the first time they ran out of CE copies. They didn't have that many regular copies left either. Not sure what Blizzard was thinking in terms of their game allocation. They knew this was the most preordered product they've ever had and yet they apparently shipped out many fewer boxes than before.

Probably something to do with the stacks of dozens of Burning Crusade and WotLK CEs that littered South Bay Fry's for months after release.

Don't worry.  Nobody I know has even managed to get past character creation.  The reward for not getting screwed over on buying the game is getting screwed over on login, at least at the moment. ^^

Not Paelos, that's for sure. And not me, because I am still a baseball newb. Although so far, even though the Giants are maddening, I am hanging in there for caring for a second season! I even hate specific players and everything!

So like, every last one of my timed-out created heroes actually showed up in my list.  This caused the last hero I made to lock up and prevent me from logging in due to party size.  ('cause I did it like a million times)  awesome, for real

That Blizz polish sure is evident.
