Well the teaser is http://www.startrekonline.com/sto_may2013 which has a romulan-esque icon with "fly under the Raptors wings" which is open to interpretation. We will see.

But yeah, I think the mission was very well designed. Lots of things to do, but you can get through it inside 20 minutes if you want to.

Given how much the playerbase wants a Romulan faction, if that promo campaign ends up being anything other than that, there's a good chance there will be blood.

It was a really fantastic mission.  It's basically Yesterday's [your ship name].  They even had an El-Aurian in the corner muttering, 'this isn't right.'  I liked the bit with T'nae talking about the last days of the Federation.  "Continued resistance was not logical.  I continued to resist."  Or something like that.  Another good one, "I don't think the Tholians have heard of Regulation 427c."  I also appreciate the alt-friendliness of it.  Once you've taken your time and enjoyed the mission, and know what to do, you can repeat it in like ten minutes.

I would pay them in actual money if they would just give me a D'deridex warbird.  I've always considered the Romulans to be vastly cooler than the Klingons; I'd join up with the Romulans in a heartbeat if they released them as an actual faction.

I've always seen the Romulans as a massive pile of douchebaggery but I do like that D'deridex.

Pretty sure there was a dev post somewhere saying that this was never going to happen [outside of a Romulan faction presumably] :-(

Yeah, I saw stahl saying that there would never be a D'deridex lockbox as they are saving it for a possible rommie faction. He also said the Galor should not have been put in a lockbox for the same reason.

Speaking of things that probably shouldn't have been placed in lockboxes, there were at least a half dozen Jem'Hadar dreadnoughts in Earth orbit last night...

Yeah, that bugged me too. I definitely think there's room for a Dominion faction somewhere way down the line, along with an expansion into the Gamma Quadrant proper.

They put in a Rommie faction and it will kill the KDF faction stone dead.

A smarter option would be to make an "adversary" faction of Klingons and Romulans. It's not like there's no "historical" precedent for the two working together.

Well, you do it right, you make Romulans adversaries of everybody and the tell them to work up their faction so that they can have decent relations with the Kilngs and the Feds. Otherwise, you're stuck in your own new little section of space and suck it, you pointy-eared monkeys.

I find this game entertaining in about 1-2 hour spurts, but no more than that.   Because of this I'm still only level 7 and lieutenant.  I'll never get to use my Enterprise-C

I got the Andorian escort.  It's enjoyable, the wing cannons are cool, but it's very fragile.  I don't regret the purchase, but I only spent about ten real dollars.  The rest came from cashed in dilithium.

I'm super happy with my Vesta, science ship + fighters = yay.  With a purple doff to kill the cooldown on the subsystem targeting powers, I'm disabling the crap out of peoples' shields and guns while raining cannon blasts on them and having fighters shooting everything.  Couldn't be happier.  Now I'm just busy trying to collect enough dilithium to get the Romulan faction gear; I'm especially lusting after those elite Scorpion fighters.

The elite scorpions are amazing.  The damage increase is quite noticeable.

Oh look whats back...

Quote
From now until server maintenance during the morning (PDT) of Thursday, March 28, 2013, every Fleet Support Duty Officer Pack you open will also* include either 10 Lobi Crystals or a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship**! If you missed unlocking one of these vessels during the previous Duty Officer promotions, here's your chance at owning one of the most sought-after ships.

EXCLUSIVE: As an added bonus for owners of a Jem’Hadar Attack Ship, there is a Hangar item available for use exclusively for the Jem’Hadar Dreadnought Carrier (available for purchase in the Lobi Store). Scaling quality levels of these items will be available for purchase from the Shipyard Store, Dilithium Store, or Fleet Store only if you have obtained the both the Jem’Hadar Attack Ship and Jem’Hadar Dreadnought Carrier.

* NOTE: This is in addition to the normal items listed below

**NOTE: The odds of winning the Jem’Hadar Attack Ship are rare but have been normalized based on the price of the Fleet Support Duty Officer Pack (275 ZEN) when compared to the 2011 Winter Packages (125 ZEN) we were selling during the 2011 Winter Event. Ship details can be found at the bottom of this page.

Whee.

So the question is; what's the drop rate on them?  I see ships getting picked-up in global-spam via dropboxes but it's only one every 10-15 mins.  At $1+ a pop no way I'm doing that.

Nothing confirmed, but various player attempts at determining the odds have come back at <1%.  Really not worth it.  You are better off just making ec and buying the stuff off of the exchange.

Those who are not playing will have not seen a counter counting down over the last 10 days or so. Will it reached zero today, and they have finally announced whats happening... the first expansion to Star trek online. Lotso stuffs but mainly PLAY AS WOMULANS!

http://sto.perfectworld.com/legacyofromulus

Well that's it for the klingon faction then. There will be no-one playing Klingons bar meatheads and 15 year olds... oh yeah... :D

Rommie ships look great too from the video. And you can finally fly the Double D Deridex

I'm probably going to delete a few of my chars to free up space for 3 rommies. Theres a few I barely play as it is.

I'll still play my Kilng occasionally. But I'm still looking forward to playing through the Romulan storyline at least once. It looks like the "fight the power" vibe may be cool.

I pretty much never play alts in MMGs, so I'm still waiting to hear why I should buy this expansion. Romulan characters in Romulan ships fighting Romulan enemies has little appeal for me.

And if all you think it is is hot Romulan on Romulan violence, you haven't been paying attention.

The whole source of the Hobus supernova issue is a huge thing they've been holding in front of us since the launch. That and maybe more kibbitzing from the Iconians? Sign me the fuck up.
