Gazillion's Marvel MMO - F2P, Play as existing Marvel characters only

Sort of verifies the earlier statement that Gazillion was making very little money though, doesn't it.

I don't see how they can be making much at all.

Game is easy to play for free, and no real way for whales to pay way over the average to make up for it.

Whales  can and do gift. One gave away free costumes just because we were running an all spidey raid and one guy was all obsessed about us having different costumes.

edit: ehh sort of misread your larger point. I don't know if this sort of thing makes up for guys like me who haven't spent much on the game. (I *think* I've kept it under $100 and I've played for almost 2 years now.)

I dropped $20 during Black Friday, and haven't played enough since to level up all the characters I unlocked then. I have seen a few whales doing giveaways, and won a few things from them (a BAMF pet and Ant Man) but I haven't been incentivized to spend any more cash. If they had a SMITE style all current+future bundle I might buy that once I max everyone I have, but it wouldn't be priced in my range.

Funny thing, I was having fun playing this game picked up the 47 character pack and since then leveled a few more toons up and havn't played in about 3 months...

Fun game, but not enough content imo.  I mean actual story and stuff not just cosmic's over and over.  I've probably dropped a 100 bucks since I've been playing though.  However I tend to only play like a week or 2 every 3-4 months.

I really have no idea how many players gazillion has, or how many are in the zero dollar, 100 dollar,or 1000 dollar buckets. But I'd guess more than half are in the zero dollar category. The forums don't feel like a million player game, more like 100k to 200k

Gazillion talk about stash space being the big money maker. That sounds like a problem given it is one off expenditure, not very expensive, and not that important to new players passing through.

I suspect they give away too much free stuff. Espeicially costumes and pets. The reason I think they find stash to be the money maker is that it isn't sexy enough to give away.

I get 210% synergy xp. Then I get free 50% potions quicker than I can use them (6 hours from each character by spending 3 minutes running the sinister lab story at 60), then I get odd potions on top of that from the free fortune cards.

All this means if I wanted to buy a 100% or 150% xp potion, the marginal gain is about 30% or possibly less.

Bought potions need to be multiplicative rather than additive. I don't mind other people paying money to effectively skip levelling (which is the most fun in the game imo)

Not only do they give away too much stuff they are also sorta scraping the bottom of the barrel for new heroes.  Is anyone really going to log back in for Black Cat?  This year we are getting some chick named Angela i've never heard of, a black spiderman that for some reason can't be an enhanced costume, Venom but with guns? oh yeah and a copy of the least played character in the game except female arab teen version.  I'm pretty sure they've held back the Deadpool updates for like 8 months just to hit the movie release, but after that they are pretty much out of fan favorites, or even fan have heard ofs really.

Cloak and Dagger, a bunch of Mutants and several of the teamups can be heroes but yes they're running short quickly.  I suspectt that plus the rushed nature of developing animations and graphics are why they're scaling back the number of heroes for 2016.

Cloak and Dagger would be cool actually.  Make it so you get both and they both play together (like a teamup) and you can switch between them on the fly.

Kamala's powers are totally different than Carol's (she's sort of a combination of Mr. Fantastic and Goliath (Ant-Man)) so it wouldn't work to make her an enhanced costume of Captain Marvel.

Yeah, meant she was a copy of mr fantastic who gaz have said is "by far" the least played hero.  Carol is awesome and popular.

Kamala Khan is easily more popular then Reed Richards, by leaps and bounds. She's this generations Spider-Man, back when Spider-Man was actually new, in the 60's or whenever the fuck he showed up.

All the Captain Marvels are busy farming cosmic danger rooms to buy their new BiS rings these days. Which is fine since she destroys like 90% of the affixes they throw at you. Fuck the shared movement cooldown though, just diminishes her so dramatically. The ones where you can't heal are also shit for her, since half her kit revolves around being hit and having insane regeneration.



You'll probably never see Namor in game, I believe his legal rights are super duper fucked up still.

In the comics, one of the Ant-Men has 'merged' with ultron or some shit, so I'm guessing that's what Hero Ultron will be justified with.

I think it's fair to say AP3 is something of a disaster, given the near 80 pages of teeth gnashing in the last 12 hours on the forum.

Got to say, the 6 announced he... characters sit between crushingly dull (Nick Fury, Elektra) or utterly inexplicable (Angela, Ultron).
Black Bolt is about the only one I'm interested in personally, and I can see Goblin being fun to play but I'm pretty iffy about all the bad guys we're being inundated with now. Especially ones like Goblin who're pretty much irredeemable psychos. Ultron is just... wat. Why not Victor Mancha? All the powers of Ultron, none of the genocidal tendancies. Or Jocasta, even? Or Danger?

Either way, it feels like a real dartboard random choice roster, given the huge ammount of characters still unplayable.
