I'm not getting an error window, just straight CTD with no error. I'll run a repair either way.

Black Cat gets a little better starting the mid 20s or so when you open up her whip dots. She's still spirit starved, but at least you are doing damage with the dots while waiting for spirit. She kicks off at 30 when you can spend omegas. Going from zero to 7500 spent is kind of a big deal.

Bigtime. I'm only at 2700 points and not going to grind out another 4.8k just to make a character usable.

She's pretty terrible now, I'm at 33 and it's just boring, slow, slog time.

I haven't bought this year's hero pack and little since it was announced has convinced me I should do so.

Omegas are the stupidest thing added to this game imo.

With the huge diminishing returns on omegas your 2.7k are a bigger bump in damage than the last 4.8k.  Not that it doesn't all add up.  Also, black cat is terrible.

Adding basic uniques and an 80 legendary to deadpool, he now feels quite a bit stronger than my much better geared Scarlet Witch and Captain America.

This despite the fact I'm running the supposedly weaker ranged spec and his high damage bazooka power is broken.

I just hope he doesn't get nerfed too hard because the voiceover is the most bearable I've played yet.

Omegas broadly just add damage, and you struggle to stay above 1DR per omega point. The non-damage omegas are not that great.

DR has a diminishing return on ttk, and omegas have a diminishing return on DR. First couple of thousand made a big difference, but after that you don't notice it so much - if a hero is no fun at 2000 omegas, there is no way they are going to become fun at 7000.

Observation. Hightown makes it much easier to get hero uniques for a fresh 60 - or to grab some uniques while levelling.

The events appear to drop a guaranteed unique every time.

All the other easy sources of uniques ideally need heroes who already have them.

Good to know. I'd forgotten that place existed because I've been playing other things for the past month. Black Cat and Iron Fist were pretty disappointing so I'm out-of-love with this game at the moment. I'll come back 'round eventually but I'm pretty burnt-out just doing dailies with Doom, Magik or Witch at the moment.

I'm all Xcom'd out, so I went back. Black Cat is still no fun. The crafting changes are really sweet. Not having to futz with elements and slotting them right from everywhere is nice. Being able to reroll a stat once you have the right kind is really nice as well.

New patch today, big one, 2 gigs, grab a coffee etc.

https://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/266623/marvel-heroes-2016-1-04-patch-notes

Goblin is in /shrug

New Omega System rework is also in, which is more interesting. I went from like 2500-3000 points to like 5000 now. New cap is 10k and you'll get them super duper fast till like 7500 now. All the nodes have had their costs adjusted and reworked. Nodes have flat costs, so like if rank one is 50 points, rank 2, 3, 4, etc. are all 50 too instead of it being like 5, 10, 20, 40 or whatever some nodes did. Exception for nodes that have a rank 1 benefit that doesn't scale on top of the usual scaling bonuses, then rank 1 will cost more. Entire new omega tree to play with, interstellar exploration, some good stuff in there.

Some Ironfist and GhostRider updates too, don't play either can't comment.

Goblin is a bit of fun. I can see why they picked him, the pumpkins are fun and straightforward, the glider gave the designer something a little different to work with.

I don't think the glider actually works in practice, and he isn't competitive with Scarlet Witch or Deadpool or anything, but I enjoyed levelling him.

Yay for the option to remove combo points. The UI just does not support it in a way that I can pay attention to it.

I thought the tracksuit and tea towel wrapped around head was transparently a s1 costume tenuously linked to something once used in a comic for rights reasons.

It was based on the comic book look the S1 costume was based on, but it is just way crappier looking.

Thanks to the double event, I finally finished out my Scarlet Witch Cosmic Prestige. Yeah, that's not something I am ever doing again. I even enjoy playing her, but that was dull. I did use up a ton of my special boost potions. I have nearly 3k odin marks and like 1200 splinters now because one of the holiday boosts pumped those.

I really like the new crafting just for how non click intensive compared to how it was. It's really easy to blow through a credit stash though what with the specific reroll the value on your costume roll.

Elektra is mildly entertaining, but outside of her one spinny AoE she has real problems with that.

Surtur runes on the raid currency vendor are really nice. It means I can continue not ever "experiencing" that content and I have a reason to start back up doing the Hammer Bay quests.

Finally got around to leveling DareDevil and he's stupid strong with like no effort at all. Like I dinged 60, upgraded his uniques to 60+ then walked into the cosmic trial with whatever random ass relics and artifacts I shoved onto him and breezed through it. 2+ mins to spare on Green Hydra wave, 1+ min on Red Hydra. No legendary, level 50 groot teamup, no enchants or anything like that.

He plays almost like X-23, but with really good output and cleaner mechanics. The way his abilities feed off each other is great, a very similar dynamic to how some abilities reduce the CD on other abilities and how some abilities flow and chain into others.

I used the staff attack basic, the twirly baton whip finisher, the hurricane kick after the finisher, the slide tackle to regain combo points and the signature off CD and the baton toss for the DoT and trash clearing and his self heal when required.

It was like Sig, Twirl, Kick, Slide, staff staff staff, twirl, kick repeat till boss is dead.

From the little power where you choose what kind of combo point system you want to use, I just used the default one, where it just boosts the damage a little bit and doesn't mess with the system. I can see why some people would hate combo points, but I had no issue with them. Found them to be REALLY strong actually, the way you can just cycle so damn quickly.

A+ on DD, would recommend.

I turned off combos just because death to all combo point systems, and found him just as strong.

The thing to watch if you turn off combos (effectively gives permanent 5 combo points and adds a cooldown on each finisher) is that you shouldn't just do all finishers all the time, the slide aoe thing in particular does a tonne of damage.

On DD for cosmic trial I had only 1 BIS arty but with bad rolls, no legendary, no enchants, no hela/blessings, and I forgot to swap my pet so had one I was leveling and had not completed any of the bars. Breezed through (did use strong clea as teamup). Meanwhile can't pass with war machine which is supposed to be a good character with better but not great arties, enchants, hela, good pet, and power cosmic (not ideal) legendary. Came close with dead pool teamup stunning.

Edit: To show how useless the main player stat sheet damage is my DD lists as 1746 while my WM says 3661 and it jumps another 1800 as soon as I used a power.

Warmachine has surprisingly little AoE and his skills are all over the place timer wise.

Anyway, new Deadpool is a really slick leveling experience. All of his core good stuff shows up really early so you aren't waiting to 37+ to get into his intended design.
