Funny thing is, this actually makes me want to reinstall and log back in before the finish. Hell, I stopped playing *before* the Omega patch, for all I know I'm that one guy who would have liked the changes...
We never got the omega patch.Huh. Told you I hadn't played for a while. So what was the patch that everybody hated? And @Soulflame: Ouch, don't remind me! I got into Toontown playing that with my kid, and then, well, kept playing for a while after the kid got disinterested (somebody had to keep the flowers watered!). To be fair though, they did try to re-invigorate it a few times, just couldn't seem to gain any traction in the kid's MMO scene. But it was fun while it lasted. |

There was a patch that severely limited movement powers, that's probably the one you mean. Consoles did get the omega patch hilariously. |

PC did get the Omega patch. That's the one that reduced the number of clickable powers to fit on a controller, completely redid the Omega powers, as well as all the movement changes.

I mean, the game is listed in my Steam Library as "Marvel Heroes Omega" so I kinda assumed...

The omega patch would have made the game match what was on consoles, we never actually got that. Also it would have introduced omega tier items and difficulty, neither of which we got. |

Not to defend all their terrible design decisions (everytime i tried coming back i quit because BiS items were locked behind NON recurring events) but i honestly feel like this game was simply too generous to make any money. The currency you used to buy heroes in game came at a pace that you could play regularly and buy all heroes as they came out and not spend a cent. They also threw massive amounts of free shit at you just for logging in and every time there was any kind of tie in event, which was non stop basically with the superhero movie schedule. |

Sad to see it go but I haven't played in a year so guess it's time to uninstall.  I got 358 hours invested into it and loved it but oh well.  Seems I will always be looking for a successor to COH which I will never get.   |

Yeah, those changes were really the beginning of the end for me.  I tried to play with them for awhile but I just ended up hating it.  No point in playing if you're not having fun. |

Devs are spilling the beans on Discord: Winterthur : I'd like to state one more time that the movement changes were good#provemewrong
MichaelMayhem : I'll say it for the first time. They weren't. #provedyouwrong
Winterthur : Wait you don't think they were?
MM : They were good. For design, for health, for a billion other reasons we said.
But the game was out for almost 4 years. it wasn't ours any more. We should'a just left PC as it was.
Winterthur : Oh god I can stop pretending I loved them

MichaelMayhem : hahaha. the helicarrier team-up. oh manWinterthur : The helicarrier team up is actual genius
MM :i can't believe we actually made that
Winterthur : You did that in what? 2 days Mike? We had to get a TU done fast and didn't have time for a model
 MM i didn't. I made @zwolfiez do it. But I suggested it.
Winterthur : it was a super quick turn around
MM : Yeah, we were super tight on time and I suggested "what if we just stole a bunch of different aerial bombardment powers and called it SHIELD air support, away-style only Team-Up"
i remember it confused the hell out of the entire pipeline
they were like "how do you summon it... it's a team-up right?" "no no, it's not a REAL team-up..."
Also... game was three days from shutting down six months ago before Marvel renewed their license and they were making changes on the assumption that the PC version was going bye bye. |

Paraphrase from a (former) dev: "To everybody wanting refunds -- Yeah right. We didn't get paid either, so don't hold your breath." Although this is an extreme example, it's really why I got into the habit a while ago with not letting myself get too invested in any game that required an outside license. It's just a matter of sooner or later will it be pulled -- not if. LOTRO so far being the big exception -- at least it's been later for them. |

So it's Monday, anybody know if they managed to find some way to shut it down?
I was going to re-install and play over the last weekend, but then the rum wore off.

I was actually joking about the off button, but clearly joking in 2017 is just dangerous.
