Yesterday, one of our Bat Country members set up a trap that - after five hours of stalking the target with a fleet run by DBRB - was sprung on the capital fleets of both the Ammar factional warfare alliance and their enemies.  Both sides thought that we were there to help them, and we even had thirty goons in one of the hostile fleets.  In a classic false flag manuevre that Cochrane would have been proud of, they dropped fleet as we engaged, targeting the ships of their erstwhile fleetmates to prevent their escape.

We killed about a dozen capital ships and even more than that self-destructed in a misguided attempt to deny us satisfaction.  Several faction ships also died.  Fun was had.

I'd love to see a transcript of the hostile fleet voice comms when they discovered what was happening.

We got fishbowled inside a POS field with no guns against 70 nulli, 20 of which were scimis.  Blew two dictor bubbles on a clear align to jp4, sacced the dictors, and got everyone else out alive (almost 40 of us).  Good times... even though we killed nothing.  Watching 120 ships jockeying for position (and us trying not to get bumped outside the fiield) inside an area about 2500m wide is   awesome, for real

I'm actually tired...  going back to BATspace to make money.  I shall return though, with bigger gunz.

Look ma, I'm on the internet. The guy is awful at setting up his UI and selecting targets, but at least I can point to this and say, definitively, that I was there.

I was a couple of days behind everyone else seeing this because I have had bad experiences with youtube videos of Eve fights (see the above video with terrible screen setup and the guy a couple of minutes behind the fleet burning through gates to get there) but this... this...

Well, I'll just say that it is a brilliant story of the sort that only Eve can throw up, with twists, turns, defeats, drama and brilliant editing.  I spent my lunchtime watching it the other day and didn't regret doing so for a minute.

I spent 37 minutes I should've spent debugging, watching this video instead. I then stumbled upon something that finally gave me some progress on something that has had me stumped since friday.

Morale of the story: watch awesome eve videos, it helps you debug things!

What? Ohhhhh, I see.

I'm just starting to fool with Planetary Interaction.  I like how it's essentially a slower version of the game "SpaceChem."  Love that damned game.  Nice lil diversion when you get tired ratting and griefing and great for the crafters and brokers.

PI seems like a massive timesink, so I haven't fucked with it.  But then again, I know almost nothing about it other than reading a little bit here and there.

I do PI on 1 char, the way I do it, 5 extraction planets and 1 manufacturing planet, it's not really a timesink at all. The major thing is extracting it from all the p1 planets, go back to the station, select 13150 of each type, minus whatever is already on the factory planet, undock and head to the factory planet, import to the two launchpads, export robotics and dock back up again. And of course reset all extractors that have finished their run. I do 2 or 3 days cycles now, since that seems to deplete things less, which means less manual work. Easily doable in a few minutes.

I think I average somewhere between 200-500 robotics pr day, so not exactly a huge moneymaker. vOv

I'm running it a bit differently (but by no means smarter, because that would imply I have a god damn clue, which I don't), but basically, I run six planets, each set up as a pair, with one planet being simply a stock feeder to the other, which is set up to gather resources and produce.    I'm doing Enriched Uranium, Coolant, and Superconductors.   Profit wise, if I'm lazy and sell all three in Deklein instead of Jita, it's approximately 18million every cycle (which is 2 days).

That said, the complexity/time sink is all in the prep and initial setup.  Once that's done, it's about 5-10 minutes of work to ferry shit around and restart extractors.   Really, the hardest part is remembering to not go tromping about in a Badger if there's a neut/red in the area.

State of the Goonion in a few hours. Oh god, I'm seriously thinking of coming back.

Can someone explain this kill by Bat Country on IRC? Followed by his 2.8Billion isk pod!

Total Module Loss:
   1,595,005,601.00
Total Module Drop:
   1,615,687,920.00
Ship Loss:
   22,499,999.00
Total Loss at current prices:
   3,233,193,520.00

That's quite the expensive loss of an IRC Cheeta. 3 months of game time dropped and a total kill of 7 months worth of game playing!

I signed up. SOTG. We're invading White Noise. The invasion started with 1500 ships in 6 fleets. White Noise's intelligence is so bad they are still deployed to HED on the other side of the galaxy. With luck we'll be fighting BoB mk IV. See you on the killboards.

State of the Goonion. 6 fleets formed up afterwards and crossed the border. One CSAA down that was unstronted. Surprise is complete. The war for Branch has began.

... Run out of opponents I guess? Really not that many meaningful power blocks left... just CFC and DRF (if they're still a coherent coalition).

Dateline Branch Region: Shock and Awe

When the SotG finished, six separate fleets filled up - A Supercap fleet of a wing of Titans and 2 Wings of Supercarriers, a 2nd fleet of Dreadnoughts and Carriers, a 3rd fleet of nothing but Command ships, Maelstrom Battleships and Logistic support, a 4th fleet of Battleships, Cruisers and fast ships and a 5th fleet of the same make up. Over a 1000 ships attacked several systems simultaneously.

The fleets all crossed the border with complete surprise and began attacking CSAA's, Stations, Starbases and deploying SBU's throughout the region. The defence was non existent for the first few hours, with the majority of the defending ships still deployed half the galaxy away at the HED system in distant Catch. One CSAA was reported to be not fuelled and was destroyed, though that has not yet been confirmed. What has been confirmed is that every other CSAA in the region are horribly timed for US prime ,two days from now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's expected that White Noise will appeal for help from their erstwhile allies - RaidenDOT (aka Band of Brothers Mk IV), NCDOT (Aka Tri mk XXXVIII) and Pandemic Legion (aka people with lots of Supercaps which are now a lot easier to kill). Right now White Noise is massively outnumbered, but can trade er, space, for time. Losing Branch I don't think would cause a failure cascade as it did to IT in Fountain 6 months ago.

However, several of their new corps just joined from Morses Mihini, who now face losing their space AGAIN to the CFC within a month of losing their space in Delve. Their second in command is a man called Horus who failed at an attempted coup de ta against his leader, which resulted in their main FC getting fired. Intel suggests they are both leaderless, divided and with few friends willing to bail them out. Will it be an easy walk over for the CFC, or will White Noise bog down the American lead invasion in a guerilla war? Join up now and find out! Old accounts can sign up for a month for only 9.95. If you want a 60 day free trial time card ask me for it - I have one spare.

So I read on Kugu, and WN has Horus which basically means they're screwed. The interesting question will be whether they attempt to unify against an external force or just fragment.

And if they do lose or fragment that would leave goons/CFC and PL as the dominant super-powers which is sort of scary.

Some propaganda from Kugu:

I have edited it a bit and cleaned it up somewhat.

Quote
T'was the night before Christmas, and all through their space,
White Noise showed nothing, not even their face.
The POSes were shot by the Maelstroms in force,
while the stations all sat in mode reinforced.

Capswarm were nestled all snug in supers and dreads,
while visions of killmails danced all in their heads.
And Mittens in his wisdom went to Alaska instead,
while the rest of the Clusterfuck were missing their beds.

Out in Branch there was raised such a clatter,
Raiden. sprang from their POS to see what was the matter.
They warped in and spied our fleet in the main,
and then warped straight back into their POS shields again.

Fofos in local, and links to gay porn,
in spam never ending from nightfall to dawn.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
an IRC Drake blob with Rokhs, most queer.

With a terrible commander, it was easy to see,
why they were bombed into flinders by a pro Mister Vee.
Their remnants they jumped to escape all the heat,
and landed at zero on a rabid Mainfleet.

Shoot primary! Shoot primary! Set o'view to BC!
The lag was intolerable as folks started to DC.
The gate lag ridiculous, White Noise started to flee,
unable to jump through, the entire fleet was tanked by DBRB.

White noise decided to try machination,
and all went and docked in their last remaining station.
And using a tactic of elite peeveepee,
they all proceeded to go logoffski.
