Funny how it's a fucken rematch of last season's playoff leadups (I played Megrim to top the table prior the playoffs).

Why didn't I get to rape the wildcard's dead carcass like the original setup!?  Heartbreak

Wait? Does this mean I'll play Llyse in the semi's if I win and he wins? That kind of sucks.

Also, playing the Lizards was a best case scenario for me, yay!

Otherwise. Nasty draw. Seems rigged to have the high TV teams beat each other to death.

And I am heading to bed, I'll let someone else post what's the OVERTIME is like, since it can really fuck your game if you don't know how it works. Heh Strazos?

If the score is tied at the end of turn 16 the game continues with four more turns of overtime. There is no kickoff, teams simply keep playing from where they are, and any unused rerolls from the second half carry over. If at the end of the four turns of overtime there is still no winning team the game will add another four turns. And it will keep adding overtime until one team stands to win.

One final important note is that if you score in overtime there will be a kick-off as usual if there are still turns to go, so if you score on the first turn of overtime you can give your opponent four turns to equalise, leading to more overtime.

Eventually rerolls will run out, turnovers will happen, and casualties will leave teams defenseless so someone will win, but make allowances for atleast an extra hour of time when playing. Seriously. :)

It's going to be tough for the Amazon's to make a repeat of last season's win over the BlockBlockBlock team of Norse, with a +5 ST big guy and 2 +4 ST Frenziers. His two tackle guys can pin me down and his two MightyBlow and Piling On Berserker's are sure to get some injuries.

My only hope is to stay outside of block range and hope I can bet up his low numbered team with my Blitzers and Catchers...I wish I had more Guard players. He far outweighs me in re-roll's too.

 - My 5 STR player is a werewolf, not a big guy troll. Not sure if that helps or hurts more.
 - I roll with 4 frenzy players; one of which is the aforementioned buff werewolf, the others being a second werewolf with Block/MB instead of Block/+STR, and two beserkers with the added skills of MB/Pile On. I also have a random 4 STR lineman for giggles.
 - Unfortunately, my lesser Runner is out for this game with broken ribs, so I've had to burn some cash to hire a linemen to flesh out my bench. Not sure if it will make a difference in inducement choice, but I'd rather deal with that than what I viewed as a dangerously-short bench...though kind of makes me wish I didn't play the min/max inducement game earlier and just kept the second thrower had I picked up for a similar reason.
 - I finally managed to get some tackle back on the team, which could come up very handy against the dodge-happy Catfighters.

I think this could be a very interesting game. I normally do well against non-bash teams (previous loss to Comstar excluded), but Amazons have legitimate quick-strike capability, I'm down a positional, he'll have inducements...and anything could happen. Reference my last game against Falconeer, a game that could have gone either way...and Comstar's team is built well, so it'll be fun to see how it works out.

Also I'm pulling for the Dark Elves, as Orcs seem to be a pretty tough brute-force counter to Norse...and they've developed well since the season opener. Also, if the DE makes it out of the quarters, I don't see how they could withstand back-to-back onslaughts of Orcs then Norse, so that would definitely be a favorable match-up for me in the Semis.

Game On.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

After a riot that moved the clock forward, the game started with the first blow of the match killing a Norse, who invoked the apoc to live. From then on, the Amazon's had control of the 1st half. The Norse even finished it with 3 rerolls left over.  The Norse did manage to knock down the ball carrier a few times, but the dodgy Amazons, despite falling twice to the tackle skill, each time retrieved the ball - the last time it landed right on the one Amazon who needed the points for a skill. The Norse could never take advantage of their block power, with their berserker's in particularly failing to use their skills effectively. Touchdown 2 turns before the end of the half.

The kickoff started with a pitch invasion that knocked down 1/3 of the Norse team, and the Amazon's made a break for the ball carrier. A stupid mistake on my part (I forgot I actually have a ST4 player) meant the Norse could reform. A chance to get the ball carrier down with a 150K Cash wizard was wasted when the lighting bolt did nothing, followed by yet another dodge foiled by a tackle (skill).

The 2nd half belonged to the Norse. Fianlly able to start to hit the girls with a frontal attack, the Norse Werewolves and 'Zerkers let loose. By the end of the game, 3 badly injured, another one apoc'ed and a lineswomen with wrestle was dead.  Only 3 'Zon's were standing by the end.

And yet the Norse were unable to take advantage. At one stage 12 block dice (including a triple roll) failed to get a Dodging/Sidestepping dancing girl away from the Runner, as she did a complete circuit around him. Sidestep was the skill of my match, constantly foiling the Frenzied Norse. On turn 14 the Norse had a chance, with a AG 2 Werewolf making a desperate attempt to pick up the ball...but then the Norse failed to move a player close enough to the end zone on turn 15 to get a touchdown!

Amazons 1, Norse 0 (though the Norse did cause 5 badly hurt, 1 death, and the Amazon team blew their savings on a useless Wizard).

I hope Andy's Dark Elves win, I think I can do much better than having to go up against another team of nothing but Blockers. However, after looking at a team of 11 orks with block (3 of them ST 4 BLorks), my money's on the Orks to get into the semi-final. The Dark Elves after getting replacement linesman will only be able to afford maybe 1 Star Player, and stabbing Armour 9 dosn't work as well as stabbing armour 7.

Ultimately, I'd say it's going to end in another rematch- F13 Catfighters vs Alive Not Dead in replay of last season's final.

So...

In short, I am now o'fer vs Aussie players all-time, I think.

Comstar started by recieving and bring it up the pitch. My block was not working particularly well, while the Cats seemed to be making every roll necessary - he almost killed a lineman on his very first block. I accidentally summoned my Apoth (I would never save a lineman), but it ended up being an OK move. I try to clog things up, getting ahold of the ball at one point, but the girls continue to dance around, eventually prying it back loose and prancing in for a late score in the first half. My opening attack when I receive goes terribly, and the half ends 1-0.

Second half begins not much better. The girls are doing their damnedest to clog up the field and play a passive defense. At one point a girl manages to have about 12 dice rolled against her in 1 turn, and I could not seem to find the defender down die. On their next turn, the girls are kind enough to immediately find that side of the die for me. Late in the half, I finally manage to start breaking through armor, tossing a few girls out to the injury bin and even killing one. Alas, it did not happen soon enough, as even when my werewolf managed to pick up the ball I did not have enough time to get him up the pitch for a TD. He even manages to hand-off to a runner, who fell 2 squares short of a late TD.

1 - 0 Catfighters. I still insist his dice are loaded as hell. Fortunately, this time I may have done enough damage to hurt his chances for a repeat title.

We're in overtime here after I rolled double 1s three times in the second half.
quick summary: 2-1 lamaros, but i killed his agi 5 GR and seriously injured the side-step blodger counterpart  Mob

my lack of rerolls finally caught up with me, plus a few tactical blunders, most notably when my girlfriend decided it was time to tell me what the menu was for an upcoming dinner party while i was moving a saurus.  he got an early score and managed to injure one of my diving tacklers during my drive after my krox ate a reroll and double skulled, but i returned with a drive down the middle after he bungled a dodge and caught his thrower by his lonesome.  as we went into overtime, he scored early, and i started a drive up the right that was going places until i neglected to mark his stormvermin with guard, and he got enough tackle zones on my skink's escorts to bog him down.

i'm sure he's gonna lament the string of ones that let me catch up, but let the record show that his last kick was literally the best kick he could've possibly mustered, and if i hadn't been forced to play hopscotch in the middle with said ball i would've dragged the game out even longer and hopefully put down another gutter runner or two.  at the very least, i softened him up for llyse or megrim.  hopefully megrim, stormbringer bros for life.

I'm going to have to say I think it was a bad play. The Saurus had little chance of making the catch, and a bounce had a 3/8 chance of going on the line. I don't think it was a risk worth taking given there were 4 turns to score and no rerolls. You would probably have needed a skink with the ball to score anyhow, as I could have marked the Saurus with a linerat and kept him unable to move (unless you risk the dodge), so you'd probably have had to roll a handoff at some point anyhow.

moving my saurus during the snap was a bad call, yeah.  having spent so long playing khemri, i take terrible ball handling for granted and though to myself "hey, a chance to catch the ball without losing a turn!" BUT! prior to my quick snap error in judgment, the spot where the kick ended up was just flawless, especially considering you don't (i think) have anybody with kick. two squares from the line and right smack in the middle, such that i had to abandon my plans to encircle your stormvermin and immediately had to go all-hands on offense and caging instead of laying out an appropriate screen to box you in.

i had laid out my offensive line so carefully, too  Cry
