Okay, yeah, I change my mind.  Ashur is a cock.

And fuck if they didn't manage to do it again.

And on a side note, although I probably could check it out easily, the girl who has been the main attraction in the household of Batiatus sure looks like the daughter in the Britcom 'After You're Gone'. If it's the same girl, I feel a need to take a seat 'over there'. What's Roman for 'Giggity'?

Well yeah, that's the start of the "showing how much of a selfish dick" stuff I mentioned.

Just started watching season one last night and was blown away.  This is a man's TV show.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS  One small complaint, I wish they cut down on the slo-mo a bit.

Oh, just you wait.  It gets better.

Yes.  You really do.

Agreed...by nature of how this show is being distributed, I think a lot of people are forced to see in on a delay of a few days or so.

Also, how are you guys getting this on the other side of the pond?  I'll be moving back to Euroland this summer, and have a need to know.

Jack Sparrow and his ilk are nice enough to provide us with a preorder copy until the DVDs are sold.

I'm not even sure what the first part of that means, but the alternative is to wait for the DVD release?   ACK!

Torrents, plain and simple. At least German Free TV will never show an uncut version of Spartacus (blood is to us what sex is to you). And Spartacus without blood will likely be 6 minute episodes.

If ever there was a reason to buy a series on blueray, Spartacus would have it in spades.

We're not yet.  Took a while for us to get the original and I suspect this will be much the same.

Sounds like I will be using Tebonas' method, then.  No way I can wait for the discs.  You are a more disciplined man than I.  I'll satisfy my conscience in knowing that I'll by the Blu Rays as soon as I can.

And to echo what tgr said:  the Blu Rays are glorious.  It looks fantastic, and the extras are great (but too short).

You are truly going to love this show after the first two or three episodes if your only wishes are less slow-mo and more senator daughter.

Oh, and fuck yes to episode 5. Just wow. I'm confident they'll do even better next week with the prequel's finale, but I'm having a hard time imaging how they'll pull it off besides Gannicus vs Crixus

I'm up to episode four, and am surprised at how good the writing and the story is.  Just watched the first battle between Crixis and Spartacus and was surprised at the end.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that for a softcore porn and blood show, it has surprising nuance.  Everyone, even Crixis, has a story and I'm totally hooked on finding out more!

I only had to get to episode 2 or 3 to realize that this wasn't just blood and tits, it was blood, tits AND a deep and engaging story. And it just kept getting better and better. And better.

Ok, sorry, I'll keep spoilering everything for the 3rd world citizens in Euroland.    Ohhhhh, I see.

Ironically, Spartacus with the sex cut out would also be about 6 minutes long, but that hasn't stopped them from showing it uncut here.  So I'm not sure if that logic holds true anymore, heh.

Even though Lucretia bones Crixis, I'm really enjoying her and Bertallus(?) and their marriage.  They seem to really love each other and pull together.  They don't even seem an evil sort, just a team who is out to excel.
I find it fascinating.  I mean she took the necklace back and endured shame and ridicule and kept her head high.  And Bertallus is actually looking for Spart's wife.  This couple could go places.

Haha, to be so young and naive again!  I'll agree with the general sentiment, but....yeah.

And I believe the correct spelling is Batiatus.
