Don't the rich powerful guys have their own slaves to bang? i can understand wanting to bang the gladiators since they are semi celebrities, but random slave girls are probably a dime a dozen literally.

I think its more of a matter of pissing in someone else kiddy pool, and doing so without the normal amount of yap yap about it afterwords.

Netflix is for some reason refusing to stream the latest episode.  I keep getting "there was an error, try again later."  Other videos work fine.   Mob

Gonna say its a corrupted cache of the episode on your computer. I don't know if flushing temp internet files will help, but it may be worth a try. That, or reinstalling the netflix plugin thingie.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

This is on my PS3, so not sure how that might work.  I think there's a way to erase and reinstall the software, so maybe I'll try that.  Bugger.

I had the same issue yesterday, but it's working now. Temporary issue it seems.

Had the same issue last night, restarting the app a few times seems to have cleared it.

Crixus' look in the arena in episode three was actually a pretty nice piece of acting. He looked fucking terrified.

Yeah, I'm honestly glad that he learned how to act halfway through Blood and Sand.  He's actually gotten convincing, compared to the first few episodes he ever appeared in.

I think you're confusing "never closes his fucking mouth" with "acting".   why so serious?

This show loves to foreshadow one thing, then do another unexpected but totally feasible and awesome thing.

I am going to LOVE IT when Tullius eventually gets his balls cut off and shoved down his throat through some crazy scheme.

I can't give any solid examples at the moment. I could be projecting, it's been awhile since I watched the first two seasons, but I recall the feeling well on almost every major plot point. That they would broadcast that THIS was going to happen then THAT happened instead. I think Spartacus's wifey was one of those moments. At least I didn't see that coming, not the way it came anyways.

edit: and basically what Velorath is saying

Yeah, they seemed to be HEAVILY foreshadowing that slutty friend was going to kill (or at least be the motivator behind getting them to kill) the father.  By poisoning his Honeyed Wine most likely (they keep pointing out that Bautiatus doesn't like drinking it).  That didn't work out.

Father still might meet a tragic end in the same way, but still.  They misdirect often, and I agree that Velorath that murdering the two of them would be kind of out of character.

I bet the producers fool us all, and in the end, Gannicus and Wifey escape and run off together, living happily ever after somewhere.   awesome, for real

The first time they showed Lucretia offering dad the wine she quite insistently stopped Batiatus from having any, i bet you she is already poisoning him.  I expected the Syrian guy who didn't speak the language to kill that noble that wanted to fuck him but that whole thing kinda didn't go anywhere, he didn't seem like the type to simply take an ass fucking.

Did you miss all the dreams Spartacus had where he was reunited with her and then she died?  And her saying in those dreams that if he didn't get her back before the rains came, it would be too late?  And then how the episode before he got her back, it rained, and that was a really big deal?

I admit to being a little surprised anyway, but only because it was SO HEAVILY FORESHADOWED that I thought it would be too obvious.  Since then I have concluded that when they go out of their way to foreshadow something in a really dramatic fashion, they mean it.  Gannicus's comment about "if I were him I'd kill us both" qualifies.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that; during that scene in the arena where he went into a coughing fit I kept waiting for him to drop dead.

Again, if Oenomaus kills his wife, it damages the character beyond a point where he's no longer a likable character.  Think of that scene in Season 1 where he mentions his wife and says that she lives only in memory.  The meaning behind it would go from being a husband who lost his wife years ago who has come to accept the loss, to being a chilling and remorseless thought about how he had to kill the woman.  It doesn't fit with the character.

I agree that it's unlikely Doctore kills his wife, but him killing Gannicus wouldn't really surprise me.

Heh, I was watching Lost the other day, and Kate and Sawyer were having sex or something, and my wife walks in, sits down for a minute, and then goes "dammit, I just remembered real tv doesn't actually show anything", and walked back out.  Tv just isn't the same in the post-Spartacus world we live in.

Yea.  Real TV is pretty much either comedy - which is really the only good thing left on it - retread police/court/hospital drama.  The latter all make me vomit in my mouth a little, and have for some time.

I was sitting on the couch watching the latest episdoe last night - my room mate's girlfriend is in the next room, just kind of half listening. She walks in right as Ashur is selling out his buddy's bum hole. She looks at me; "You really need a girlfriend"

Ashur fucking his buddy over like that (pun intended) was pure awesome.  As I am sure it will be when he manages to get his buddy killed.

Even so, through the original series and this prequel...I kind of have a soft spot for poor Ashur.  He has some naturally douchey tendencies, but he really is being treated like shit.  Kinda can't blame him for all the shit he pulls.  Doctore is a pure dick to him, and he doesn't deserve all of it.

That was my impression after Blood and Sand, but now I'm not so sure anymore. It takes a special kind of asshole to turn on your only friend for something he didn't even do himself so quickly.
