Woot, a healed injury and a brand-new 2nd thrower and my TV is over 1200. I think that means I get guys killed in the next game.

Wow. Watching Llyse vs. Teleku. I've never seen such a bloodbath before. It's ridiculous. Every single knockdown is a casualty or a KO against Teleku. That's frustrating beyond reason. Yes, sure, it's Blood Bowl, but what the hell.
Yeah, I encourage anybody to watch it for comedic value. Every single touch resulted in a broken neck or something.

Comedy gold. And beginning of second half, the "Throw a rock" even? I fell off my chair laughing. And STILL, it wasn't all.
5 casualties, 2 deaths, and about 10 KO. World record material.

Yeah, starting off the 2nd half with a fan throwing a rock and injuring another player made me throw up my hands and give up right there. I could really use a bye to heal, but I'm sure I wont get one until the very last game day, when my entire team consists of mercenaries.

I had a game like that, my Classic Elves versus some Orcs. He actually cleared the entire field by turn 14.

Silver Horde vs Hazardous Hippies looks like fielding 3 journeymen each.
Awesome.

I just got thrashed 4-0 by Llyse. I also suffered the same bug that Teleku found, After my bye I spent my gold on a couple of new players, an apothecary and a hatful of assistant coaches. Tonight none of that was available to me. Luckily I didn't need the apothecary but I could certainly have used a couple of extra players as Llyse had the original 11 on the floor and bleeding hard for most of the game. At one point I passed on my entire turn rather than stand my guys up just to give him another opportunity to knock them down.
I had a chance to score a consolation touchdown during a bit of a scramble for a free ball with some unmarked linesmen deep in his half but the required going for it rolls or the pick up rolls didn't go my way.

I am sorry for all the silly bugs. Next season, either we get even numbers or I'd say let's go with a single pool Championship. Less bugs and more matchups. I validated your match. Please someone send me the replay. Got it.
On another note, me and Xuri tied 1 - 1. Nice match. My amazons, a dodge team, couldn't dodge to save their lives. Still, on a nice comeback-oriented second half we managed to go THAT close to a win in the last turn, when the unmarked Mary Wollstonecraft (blitzer) threw a short pass (3 squares away) to the unmarked Maya Angelou (linewoman) in the end zone with no rerolls left. Scatter launch and fuck this shit. My heart bled for a few minutes.
I'd say it's a fair tie after all. No long terms injury in my team, but Virginia Woolf kindly fractured this Hralf Pòròlfr Norseguy's skull for good (permanent -1 AV).

Just for numbers, I have a good friend who is extremely interested in a steady league. He also has a friend who he says would be reliable and interested. I told him that it would be a bit until next season but that it may be doable. I also insisted he make an actual f13 account and go through the full process. Having friends be "reliable" without taking full part in league processes has seemed like the big no no trap in other leagues I've played in.

I think that's a given. League is open to everyone... from f13. Meaning that you have to at least pretend some involvement with the boards. It can even just be about the League, but I demand an f13 account and a presentation post on the General Discussion a little bit of participation to the next League thread. Do we agree on this? That said, IainC: why the hell you went with the Go For It with your Witch in turn 2 instead of passing to the two unmarked linemen?!?

Good to see Blood Bowl bringing out more lurkers. I finally started posting after 2+ years for the same reason. This season is moving pretty swiftly so far. I know I'll be in them for as long as they're held.

Yeah, I'm more and more afraid of taking GFI rolls every time I play. Its amazing how often that, when faced with "ok, all I have to do is not roll a one!", you promptly roll a 1. Consistently.

Ok, I didn't see that. I guess what I thought is that the GFI was going to be an additional roll (on top of the subsequent pass/catch roll) where just failing the pass would have probably sent the loose ball in a more secure zone of the field as opposed to suffering a knockdown, an armour roll, and a TD against. Even with a fumble, at least his Witch Elf would have still been standing. But yeah, chances are I would have ended up doing the same thing, it's easy to talk AFTER. I made a very risky and possibly stupid bet tonight against Xuri, on a defensive blitz, and I lost it and he scored. I'm sure anyone watching that replay would yell at me. Happy to meet you, Ice Cream Emperor. Stick around for Season 3, and feel free to comment on this thread as much as you like. You can even follow the League and watch replays with BBManager if you feel like it, which would make your commentary even more meaningful. Mirror link for BBManager, here it is

The nearest of the two unmarked linesmen needed a 5+ to make the pass without going for it. If I was one square closer that would have dropped to a 4+ so I decided to take the risk for an easier pass. I still had a reroll left that turn so I figured that going for it one square then a 4+ pass with a reroll was reasonably reliable. Of course I then burnt my reroll on the go for it roll and failed them both....

Uhm. I linked you to my own setup.exe so we have the same version. I think you should be able to choose the language when you launch it or install it for the first time.
And "chance" is supposed to represent how better or worse you fared vs statistical average, I guess. But it's kind of botched as it consider some "rolls" as always succesful ("Pass" is fail only on a fumble, for example), so take that value with a grain of salt.

Weird. So in my last game, I felt like I hit way better than Xuri, but the roll stats don't necessarily bare that out...

What stats are you looking at? If you go on the "block dice" tab it says you had a percentage of success rolls of 59% (29/49), meaning you sent him on the floor on 59% of your block attempts. He on the other hand has a 47% success rolls ratio. You DID hit way better than him. It even says you had 3 turnovers on blocks against his 4, and that you rolled an average 1.76 dice per block against his 1.53, meaning you positioned your players for more consistent blocking. So apparently you've been both luckier AND smarter.
Finally, you broke his armor 11 times (on 36 attempts, 31%) while he only did it 8 times (on 33, 24%). This means you hit harder, too.

Yeah, had a few mess-ups which cost me. Should have moved the extra defender next to the other lineman on that turn 8 TD. Was paranoid about how far to the side you could run to score, but I probably shouldn't have left him that far out, and also forgot the guy I left in the center was the easiest to take down. Dice also turned against me for the later part there, though I was lucking out with them initially. Also really needed to get that pickup in the second half when the wardancer took down the ball carrier, but alas, the attempt and the re-roll both failed. Could have won it if I'd gotten that pickup on the wardancer. Not to much more I could do though. Eldaec played a very effective textbook cage grind. With the decimation of my team from day 2, I'm way behind on SPP now. None of my guys have leveled after 3 games, and I need to spend my cash on replacing dead catchers instead of other stuff. Wood Elves kind of rely on being able to level up so they can get the skills to break cages effectively. I'm probably in a death spiral now where I'll never catch up in skills and keep losing because I can't break cages (and the opponents players are all skilled up besides), which causes me to fall further behind. But ah well, might get lucky. At least I'll have a day to rest and get free cash next.

When you have two identical teams, the results are often a draw. Such is the case with Amazons vs Amazons. Both teams had double blocks that knocked everyone over, though my girls go the worst of it, with 1 linewomen dead and another one badly injured. However, I had control most of the match, but was held off long enough for a late scoring second half touchdown, and then used my last reroll badly in the last 2 turns of the game which made a hand off->throw-> catch->GFI both unlikely and eventually impossible.
I was down one girl this match, looks like I'll still be short another one next match. Catcher will get another skill out of it though.

6 Pools just drew 1-1 with F13 Catfighters. Comstar thoroughly outplayed me in the first half but I managed to come back in the second thanks to a couple lucky die rolls. Could just be perception, but I suspect that the dice gods were toying with Comstar on this one. Will get the replay up in just a second. edit: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11780032/Replay_2010-11-20_16-29-24.db
