Group 2 will likely be done with its Game Day #2 matches tonight.  Avaia and I are aiming for a showdown in the evening.  Monday Night Blood Bowl!

6 Pools vs Silver Horde should also be done tonight - assuming we can make the internet work.

I won easily, thanks to a questionable fact happened at the beginning of seconf half, whereas a Pitch Invasion (only happens on a roll of double sixes) devastated his team, despite me having Fame +2, for a total of 8 men stunned versus my 4.

Rest assured, the high elves are quite used to this sort of hooliganism from the lesser races and will return for a glorious triumph over our next lowly opponent.

Amazons win 2-1 again, not least because I scored on turn 15 instead of 16 for no reason at all. (and because I am very bad at this game).

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/318368/Replay_2010-11-15_19-56-15.db

I'll edit this with more detail after dinner, but jesus christ I am bad at this game.

Silver Horde (Norse) win the toss and kick. 6 Pools (Amazon), retrieve and pass up to the scrimmage line, where they cage up, and a brawl forms, couple of block and timeout turnovers later Pools get an opening and score a turn 4 TD.

Pools kick off, and Horde take the ball from a touchback but run a blitz before building the cage... turnover. Pools blitz the ball and get hold of it on the touchline in Horde territory - Horde sends the ballcarrier into the crowd, fracturing her leg in the process, but the crowd throw the ball back into the Pools half. Still Horde's turn and they can reach the ball, but try to pick it up before building a cage... turnover. Pools know how to play, so build a cage, pick up the ball, and run the half out.

Half time; 6 Pools 1 - 0 Silver Horde.
Both sides have one casualty, but Pools have 3 women KO'd, 2 of whom wake up.

Pools kick off, Horde cage up on the right wing, Pools match up to Horde, with Horde losing a lineman for the next game, Pools also receive a KO. Looks like no way through the Amazon wall, so Horde start to disengage and run the ball over to the left wing, Pools have committed to the initial brawl on the right so there is plenty of space, this time Horde build a much narrower cage and the brawl reforms as Pools fully commit to the other flank. Horde are starting to suffer injuries now, with 3 linemen out for the next game, Pools still have just the one casualty, and 2 KOs. Every Pools player is within 4 squares of the left touchline, and Horde start to wrap around the Pools team and push them further left. Eventually Horde hand the ball off to a lineman on the edge of the brawl and run it out to the far corner. Pools can only free one linewoman, who blitzes for a 1 die block, but fails the GFI and injures herself. Horde now have the Pools team caged, and score... on turn 15.

Horde now kickoff, but turn around and realise they have just 7 men left. Pools have 9. Turn 15 Pools recover the ball with a pass and can cage up 5 rows into the Horde half because the horde line is deep. Turn 16 for the Horde and a werewolf frenzies into a two dice defenders choice followup... turnover. Touchdown.

Ezrast could probably have beaten me by a more embarassing score if he'd left a safety out of the brawl in the second half. Heh, look at me giving advice.

Thanks for the replay. I validated the match. You can spend money and SP.

EDIT: Three casualties sustained by turn 11? It's not necessarily your fault you know. That sucks.

EDIT2: Ok, defense on turn 15? Totally your fault   ACK!

I think what was going through my addled mind was that I had to score before Ezrast's team arrived and I only had the carrier protected by one guy, what I failed to notice was that with the lineswoman who had blitzed on turn 14 injured, my ballcarrier could move to complete safety in the corner.

For our fans who don't want to watch the replay: Eldaec's Norsemen kicked off to my Amazons in the first half, and I managed to cage up and run the ball to the endzone in what was a pretty standard play. After he received my kickoff, an unlucky turnover meant that I was able to blitz in before he could get a cage together, and the rest of the half was spent trading the ball back and forth rather than making any progression up the field.

Second half I mostly spent feebly attempting to slow down his advancing cage, and for a minute there I thought I had a chance at either breaking it or stalling him until the end of the match, but he reminded me that handoffs exist and then ran past all my players entirely. One of my players had one chance to stop him, but she decided to fall over and injure herself instead (I even used a reroll and everything!). So, as eldaec said, he could have easily stalled a turn and made the game a draw, but instead he scored, leaving two turns for the last play of the game, in which I somehow managed to pick up the ball, pass successfully, blitz down his defense, and not trip over any shoelaces for a turn 16 TD.

The win wasn't entirely deserved, given what a simple play error he made (he realized it right away, too), and that I'm pretty sure the dice were on my side throughout the match. Also my screwy team makeup.

edit: Eldaec did it better. And faster.
more edit: Haha, didn't even realize those last block dice were my choice. Was wondering what was taking you so long.  Ohhhhh, I see.

A much closer game than Eldaec eludes to in his commentary.  But for an unfortunate roll or two in the first half, I think it could've been a different game.  Still, I cringed when I saw that norseman rushing for the ball without a cage.

2-0 Amazons to Orcs.

A *brutal* first half saw more orcs injured and knocked out than the lighter Amazons. With the left flank left open the girls ran up the side for an easy 2 turn touch down.

The rest of the half saw the Amazons doing more damage than the 2 dice hitting black orcs. One of the orc mercenarys was killed. The orc cage was broken, but the ball stayed loose and some failed passes meant the chance for a 2-0 score before half time was dashed by a failed 3+ catch.

The 2nd half saw the orcs getting some players back from the bench and doing much more damage than receiving. However, an open route in the middle of the pitch allowed the Amazon blitzer to run in and sack the ball carrier. The orc runner was left surrounded and had little choice to try and dodge into two tackle zones...he failed. The Amazon blitzer scooped up the ball and ran for the touchdown zone. Several players went down in the scram left behind while the amazon ball carrier danced around the end zone playing for time.

With only 2 turns left on the clock the orcs were up against it, and all seemed lost when the ball carrier was left alone. However, the Amazons tripped up at the last second before getting the loose ball, then failed to make a easy pass for a possible third TD and the orcs had a brief moment to make a TD. Running the ball up-field the Orc linesman threw a badly aimed throw...and the ball bounced into the TD zone where the waiting catcher desperately tried to pick up the ball...and failed.

The orcs lost 1 merc lineman dead, while the Amazons have 1 girl missing the next game and another one with a injury.

Ouch, 2 girls with broken necks! Though the star blitzer got +1 movement.

You all send me replays. Can't wait to watch this game tomorrow morning.

EDIT: Posting it here with a dropbox link as Eldaec did is a fancy way for everyone to get it and take a look at it. In any case, please remember that if you install BBManager, you don't even need a password to peek at our League stats and download our replays from there at will. Sadly, it appears that Llyse's and my time zone and work schedule clash so badly that we wont be able to play our match all the way until next weekend.

That was a strange game.  A tie was appropriate; it didn't feel like either of us played badly, but nor did we really deserve a win.  It was still a pile of fun even if it was very aggravating at times.

It was meant in jest.  During the first half I couldn't seem to roll dice to save my life, and the same thing happened to Avaia in the second half.  Honestly, I think the first half was the worst I've played in years.

Almost! We need Llyse vs. Teleku match, and they won't be able to play until next weekend.

Validated the match between Avaia and Ruvaldt.

And Llyse, all you need to log into BBManager is a BBManager account (it says "Create account" in the login box) as far as I can remember. Once you are in it, you should be able to look up for our League under the Leagues tab, "In progress Leagues". There are a shitton of them, but they are ordered alphabetically. We are f13..

EDIT: Actually, the "Leagues" tab leads you only to League stats. To download replays, you should go on the "Matchs" tab, find our League there in the "All Leagues" dropdown menu. You'll get a list of all uploaded scores. Highlight one and then click the "Replay" button in the upper toolbar. That downloads the replay. Sorry for the confusion, the software is great but the GUI is a bit counter-intuitive.

Just played my game against Teleku, thanks to his sacrifice of getting up at 6am to play a game before leaving for work  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Nuffle (the dice god) saw fit to reward him with insane amounts of casualties however...

It's not a pretty game and the final score is 3-1 which is no surprise considering he had 4 elves (2 mercenaries) on the fieLd at one point.

Replay will be uploaded to BBManager after this -- Now uploaded

Edit: Once again major props to Teleku for getting up early to play his match so the games may continue and especially for being so gracious with the terrible hand dealt.

Also if my next opponent (Eldaec) is in the states and pings me an email in the morning (and I get up early) I may be able to play my next game immediately!   awesome, for real

I was actually down to 2 elves left on that final drive.  Lost 2 dead, and all but 4 elves by the end were casualties (not knocked out).  Of course the two loner mercenaries on my team made it through to the end.   Ohhhhh, I see.

Main thing that piss's me off is that I actually purchased an apothecary after the last game was approved, and it showed I had one during the week when I went back in to look.  But after I started this game, I realized I still had all my money suddenly, and no apothecary.  So of course my second 90k catcher is instantly killed right off the bat, making my team close to useless.

Pretty rad  awesome, for real

Though I actually almost managed to get a 2nd TD near the end.  If that ball hadn't scattered next to the zombie, making the pick up roll harder, it wouldn't have been that hard to throw it to the other elf and score.  :(

Wow.
Thank you so much guys, and lots of thanks to Teleku for the awesome dedication. I am very sorry for the apothecary mess, I have no idea how is that possible. Sometimes it happened to me that I bought stuff, and then I left the team screen clicking the "Red cross" instead of the "Save team" button. Really sorry, Teleku :(

Should I validate the match? I'll be home in half an hour, so if you give me the green light I'll do it then and you both will get money and SP.

Finally, this officially wraps up Game Day #2, and we are on with Game Day #3! Fixtures, Scores and Standings coming in the next few hours.  DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

And yeah, I know it I hit save.  I even saw that my team had an apothecary days later when I looked at it on the management screen.  So yeah.....
