...I read all of that interaction as something else entirely. The characters are coming from the angle that Pierce was fucked up and weird, but everything about that seems to indicate that Pierce was actually trying to be a decent person. It showed that the characters are pretty immature emotionally, assuming the worst... even if Pierce still managed to be SOMEWHAT of a clueless twat for some of it. They needed a good way to write off Troy and it works, considering their shared history.
Things can either be a lead, or a mislead... but if they keep on bringing up the name and feeling ramifications from his actions, there is likely more story.  If there is nothing further we can attribute to the name Pierce going forward, then it is likely over...

I wouldn't hold out hope for much more Pierce.

One suggestion that I did see which made me smile was to have Pierce played by a different older white male guest actor every week, with no explanation or acknowledgement by the cast.

Troy on the other hand:

Personally, I don't want anymore Pierce. That chapter has been closed, as far as I'm concerned. And probably the weakest of all the characters, in my opinion.

In regards to Glover, I see nothing about doucheyness. He just wanted to move on to something new. He's been quiet open about his mental issues and wasn't totally happy and credits Tina Fey with the knowledge to pursue what he wants to. I haven't heard any tensions between Glover or anyone else.

Not sure why you spoilered that, considering that A) It's not a surprise and B) your lead in kind of spoils it anyway.

As for the episode. Great work. Takes a good hand to craft that much heart into that much straight up goofiness.

I predict a band being formed called Locker Boys or Chair Walkers in the not-to-distant future.

The older criminology professor is Pierce's replacement in my mind, and he does it much better than Chase.  I had to google why Glover was leaving and I have to say that with him being offered his own show to write/produce I can't blame him.  I wish him the best.

With Glover gone, I thought I'd like to share with you the single funniest moment in Community to me.  I nearly went into hysterics.  It may lose something without context but lord was it funny!

What the fuck am I watching?  This has to be the most delirious, crazy, surreal TV on the major networks.

I laughed at the start for five solid minutes.

Looks like we won't be getting six seasons and a movie.  At least Harmon got to come back and run the fifth and final season.

Ah, what a shame.  There was nothing like this on TV.  It lasted longer than I thought.  Maybe it will find a home on Netflix or elsewhere.

I maybe watched half of season 4.  It was pretty uninspired in places.  I gave up on season 5 after a handful of episodes, and actually quit watching a couple episodes half way through.  It just wasn't very good when Harmon came back.

Yah, the polygraph episode was great.  Really suffered from lack of Troy, too much Abed (who has been getting weirder as the years went on), and walking back alot of the character growth for the other characters.  The treatment of Winger's character has been pretty bad for years, where he relearned the same lesson over and over as plot demanded, but he completely reverted to season 1 Jeff at points and somehow also became bad at law.

The Community wacky hijinks only worked because they had a strong and consistent character base.

Harmon should just say goodbye to Community and move on.  There really isn't any reason to stay with Rick and Morty pulling the ratings and (cartoon) acclaim it is.

I've been rewatching the first few seasons.  This show was seen as progressive when it was released.  I'm wondering what the reaction would have been now if it were released today.

My wife never seen a single episode so it is now on our evening rotation. I think we are almost to season 4.

You sons of bitches bumped a Community thread and my first thought was "6 seasons and a movie!"

I was hoping to see news about a reunion movie or something.

Sorry - they did a table read togather of Donald's last episode recently.  That is online.  A movie seems unlikely with Glover's popularity.  Pedro Pascal fills in for Walter Goggins.  Lots of MANdalorian jokes.

The points where Pascal totally cracks up are hilarious.

I also love Harmon saying "Man, I need to revise this script" at the end.

We've been rewatching this show for the first time (i.e. 2nd viewing) and while some of the shows are still excellent and fun I found myself getting bored with some of episodes. I found myself browsing the internet during some of them.
