4 Students send a camera into the stratosphere for ~$150

Seems like a pretty cool and fun project to do, I wish there was more detail on how they protected and recovered the camera.

Small (probably too small) Psyduck

Found a whole page of just about every Pokemon at http://www.bmoviecomic.com/board/posting.php?mode=smilies, why they have only the default smilies plus all of those, I have no idea.  But I expect the resident photoshop masters can do something funny with the large version.

The logical thing to do?  Sail a boat almost right over the area you know its going to explode in.

I think it's impressive that Tonga has had a week with a 7.6 magnitude earthquake, a volcano, a tsunami, and no damage or injuries.

What worries me in that picture is the Pompeii effect. See that seeping layer of low-lying ash and fumes coming towards them over the water? It's all very well to be worried about rocks and ash raining on them, but I wouldn't be sailing anywhere near the stuff hanging around at sea level.

Cause randomly leaving some dick to fall to his death while rubbing the fact that she was being selfish in wanting to live to some random girl he doesn't know is the very model of sanity. Were it not for the rant I don't think we'd have cottoned on.
