First Do No Harm: Play a full round without killing any enemies and score the highest on a team of 6 or more players.
Will happen quicky if you pick the losing team.

Group Health: Work with 2 other medics to deploy 3 simultaneous uber-charges.
Easy so long as you have a mic to coordinate over, as the other medics will be happy to play along and get the achievement.

Surgical Prep: Have an uber-charge ready before the setup phase ends.
Just play the right map.

Trauma Queen: Deploy 3 uber-charges in less than 5 minutes, and assist in 5 kills during that time.
Last control point on Dustbowl springs to mind.

Double Blind Trial: Deploy an uber-charge within 8 seconds of a nearby enemy medic deploying his.
Depends on the definition of 'nearby'. But probably not hard.

Play Doctor: In a team with no medics, be first to switch to medic after a teammate calls "Medic!" and then heal 500 health.
Easy on a pub server.

Triage: Deploy an uber-charge on a teammate less than a second before they're hit by a critical explosive.
Just play a soldier friendly map.

Preventive Medicine: Block the enemy from capturing a control point with an uber-charged teammate.
Tricky bit is staying alive long enough to count, since ocntrol points tend to be exposed.

Consultation: Assist a fellow medic in killing 5 enemies in a single life.
Placebo Effect: Kill 5 enemies in a single life while having your uber-charge ready, but undeployed.
Does It Hurt When I Do This?: Kill 50 scouts with your syringe gun.
Peer Review: Kill 50 medics with your bone saw.
Annoying, since you have to play for them. But not really that hard.

Big Pharma: Assist a heavy in killing 30 enemies where neither of you die.
Tough without team stacking on a pub server.

You'll Feel A Little Prick: Assist in killing 4 enemies with single uber-charge on a scout.
Tough - but only because the scout will run out of your heal range.

Autoclave: Assist in burning 8 enemies with a single uber-charge on a pyro.
Easy.

Blast Assist: Assist in exploding 5 enemies with a single uber-charge on a soldier.
Doable.

Blunt Trauma: Assist in punching out 4 enemies with a single uber-charge on a heavy.
Lolz.

Medical Breakthrough: Assist in destroying 8 enemy engineer buildings with a single uber-charge on a Demoman.
This one is tough, hang around demomen in dustbowl CP4 and it is doable.

Ubi Concordia, IBI Victoria: Assist in killing 5 enemies on an enemy control point, in a single life.
Play Dustbowl on red.

Quadruple Bypass: Heal a teammate who's taking fire from 4 enemies at once.
Grand Rounds: Heal 200 teammates after they've called for "Medic!"
Infernal Medicine: Extinguish 100 burning teammates.
Doctor Assisted Homicide: Assist in killing 20 nemesis.
Family Practice: Uber-charge ten of your steam community friends.
House Call: Join a game that one of your friends is in and then deploy and uber-charge on him.
Bedside Manner: Be healing a teammate as he achieves an achievement of his own.
Hypocritical Oath: Kill an enemy spy that you have been healing.
Medical Prevention: Save a falling teammate from dying on impact.
Second Opinion: Uber-Charge 2 teammates at once.
Autopsy Report: Provide an enemy with a freezecam shot of you taunting above their ragdoll.
FYI I Am A Medic: Use your bonesaw to kill 5 enemy spies who have been calling for "Medic!"
Midwife Crisis: Heal an engineer as he repairs his sentry while it's under enemy fire.
Trivial.

Sawbones: Hit enemies with your bonesaw 10 times in arrow without dying or missing.
Intern: Accumulate 7000 heal points in a single life.
Specialist: Accumulate 10000 heal points health in a single life.
Chief of Staff: Accumulate 10 million total heal points.
Just grind.

By the time you get Chief of Staff, you'll have picked up all bar one or two of the others just from random occurences.

I hate to go all L2P on everyone, but that list is not crazy, especially for those upgrades.  Do you just not play Medics?  Or do you guys follow around a Heavy/Solly and pocket-heal them until you die?

That said, Medic's my main class, so maybe it is just an L2P situation. The only ones that will be tough (legit) will be the "Uber X Class and they kill Y things."  At that point though, you'll have the Critzcrieg so it shouldn't be impossible.  Bedside Manner will just "happen" one time, I assure you, especially if you play with PuGs.

I generally see one guy get an achievement once every three or four days I play.  Maybe once there's umpty bazillion new achievements, this won't be a big deal, but right now, unless you're tearing it up on the "n00bs welcome" servers or something, you don't see a lot of people unlocking achievements.

And it's not a matter of L2P, because half these achievements depend mostly on someone else.  Uber a soldier and have him do X.  Kill a spy who's doing X.  Assist a heavy as he does X.  Heal an engineer as he does X.  I don't care how godlike your medigun skillz are, because they DO NOT MATTER here.  You could be the greatest medic in the world and still miss half this stuff because spies don't call for medics anymore these days, for example.

Not that they're going to be impossible, of course.  Keep healing and you'll eventually get them all by random chance, I'm sure.  But for most of them, you could get them way, way easier by staging it.  For example, "Save a falling teammate from dying on impact".  How many people die from falling damage in a normal round?  Rarely more than one, if that many.  So what are you going to do, hang around at the bottom of the battlements on 2Fort and hope that some critically injured scout or soldier comes down right in front of you, or what?  That would take days, possibly weeks.  And it would take maybe five, ten minutes to stage it on a locked server.  Plus, remember that you can't get your new uber melee weapon without getting every achievement... not only this one, but every single other one, too, including the retarded ones like "kill five people while you hold on to your charge" or "get ten consecutive hits with the bonesaw".  It just seems like with this list, they're moving achievements away from "fun little extras which no one cares about" to a "get in to a private server for an hour or two to unlock your weapons" grind.  But, we'll see how it turns out.

I play on the vidya's server so the melee stuff is hysterically easy. Whenever CTF_Well comes up we just melee since well sucks in CTF form.

I played for quite a while tonight on pub servers. Saw about 8 people log in, go medic, have the screen spam them getting every medic achievement, then log off.

Methinks there's a hack.

Though, playing normally I ended up with 5 of the achievements.

Wow, how the fuck did they miss that one?

I played a bit on a pub last night, and there were a lot more guys going medic than normal. It was kind of silly.

I figured they had timestamps associated with when achievements were unlocked, consequently they could tell who cheated and do what they wanted with them.

Should of unlocked some of the stupider achievements by themselves though, like the 'Kill 50 Scouts'.

Oh and something else:

CBaseAttributableItem - Generate a random item. With no parameter, will generate an item of random item level, between 1-100. Specify the item level as the first parameter if desired. If the ch_item_name convar is set to an item name, ch_item will only generate items with that name.

= Diablo II random drops

Oh it's probably here to stay, it's a cvar and not an exploit.  Probably so someone can make a mod that involves random drops when you kill somebody.  They can already drop stuff when people die, some servers have engies drop full ammo packs when they die.

So far, this is really sucking for me.

Join a game, somewhere like a third to half of my team is already medics, either trying to unlock their achievements or play with the weapons they've already unlocked.  So, no reason for me to play as one, it's not like we're short, I'll get the achievements later.  But no, they're not "playing" really, they're dicking around trying to unlock the achievements... charging up their ubers and then running around trying to melee everyone with the damn bonesaw, or just standing around in the base healing people who are already at full health.  For three whole rounds we had four guys doing nothing but trying to stage that stupid "save a teammate from falling damage" thing.  It's retarded.  And Valve is going to do this over and over again for every class?  Ugh.

Basically, I'm really not having fun for the time being.  Maybe later, once everyone has unlocked everything, it'll be back to normal.

I wish I could get to my server list from work, but I'll post it later. I played on a 24/7 goldrush map last night and had a truly awesome time. Lots of medics of course, but we had a lot of great pitched battles. Most of the servers I play on don't tolerate much jackassery.

So at this rate, it'll take years to get to all the classes?

I just want a Spy knife that can backstab through ubercharge.  From a defense standpoint, every map starts with 4-8 invincible soldiers and demos coming out.

All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu.  This is the truth!  This is my belief! At least for now...

Just wait till it's 4 invincible demos rushing in with 4 volleys of crit rockets being fired from the rear to clear their path.   ACK!

I guess the achievements haven't been rolled back, because there was a guy on one of the servers I was on last night running around with an ubersaw and getting an uber every minute or so.  (If you get killed with one of the special weapons the deathcam shot includes a little blurb that explains how you just got pwned by someone with a much larger epeen than you.)

From reading the (hillarious) steam tf2 forums it seems like valve didn't wipe everyones, which seems odd.  Some people who got the achievements "fairly" got them rolled back and a bunch of people who used the console command didn't get them rolled back.

Farming makes the achievements pretty quick, just 4 of us last night managed to get about 17 each done in an hour. I'm available for farming them tonight or tomorrow night, unless the siren song of gta4 calls too strongly.

But what is this new F13 TF2 server of which you speak?

More importantly, I need someone to medic that hasn't already unlocked all the easy achievements so I can get that one for healing someone while they get an achievement.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

btw got Placebo Effect tonight, VERY SATISFYING.  I've never even gotten 5 kills as a medic before, much less while holding an ubercharge.

Roving gangs of heavies with T2 chainguns and spy cloaks waiting around every corner to gank unsuspecting noobs?

Edit: Upon reflection of the new achievement system, this scenario is actually plausible.  Except they'll also be as fast as scouts and have regenerating HP.

I can do that for you.

One of the first times I played medic we I had an amazing moment on the bridge in Fort (roommate was a heavy).  One of our spies had their intel with their entire team close behind.  I übered the heavy and we mowed down seven people.  That capture was the winning one.  It was really hard to play a medic after that because it's not a performance I can match again.  Sheer dumb luck two hours into playing medics and it's the best moment I'll ever have.

You'd be surprised how often stuff like that happens.  The game is engineered to bring those awesome moments about as often as possible (in particular, destabilizing events like a crit streak or an ubercharge that turn the tide of a battle).  It's something most people don't really appreciate, but one of the reasons I keep going back to TF2 is that I get about one of those OMG THIS AWESOME THING HAPPENED stories per night, which is a much higher rate than most games.

Most of the time I ended up getting "I died again while barely scratching them".  When I played an Engineer for the first time in a while my own team was calling me names for setting up a turret and started a vote to kick me.  Apparently putting it in a place to shoot people was frowned upon.  That kind of killed it for me.

I need a server where I can suck and people not care too much.
