Looks like Squirrel is going to be in town from Canada. So why the fuck not. Come one, come all. There's tons of shitass cheap resorts and hotels. It's hotter than fuck. And the drink runs like water. Get your ass out here. We have lots of floor space to pass out on.

'Tis true. I arrive Sat. July 13th and am staying until the 18th, all RnR time, flying solo as my girl's in Ottawa. Have plans the Sat. night but other than that am up for all manners of debauchery. Staying at the Valley Ho hotel - a suite with a bathtub in the living room, which I'm sure I'll sleep in at least once.

Speaking of marketing, we're out of milk.

Wouldn't we need a microscope to see that?

Oh, and for the record: I'm in Chandler, Squirrel will be staying in Scottsdale. If you need places to stay close to us, as passing out on my floor every night isn't really attractive, I can give you a list, just tell me if you want to stay in Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, or Mesa (all east valley).

Also, if you stay at the same place Squirrel is staying, we're going to be doing at least one night at his place as there's a Hawaiian restaurant there.

I already live here but haven't met any of you so I'd be up for dropping by. On a related note, is anyone going to PhoenixCon(mostly traditional non-videogaming convention) in June?

The Valley of the Sun in mid July? Why not schedule it for Hell? It would be a damned sight cooler.

You mean ConGames?  I'll likely wander about on a one day pass there.

I already live in the valley also, but this sounds like a good excuse to actually meet some of you imaginary internet peoples.

Your timing blows, my birthday is on the 13th so I'm needed in Cali to preside over some attempted liver homicides.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

Ya'll some bitches. Ya, June, July and August and parts of September are hot. But man, you're all pussies for being so young. It's still better than Florida during the summer and people flock there. Though, they may be crazy. Also, you don't even notice the heat when you numb it with alcohol. And this whole little shindig is a matter of coincidence since Squirrel is coming. Not to mention, he's from Vancouver, so he could very well MELT while he's down here.

You'll be numb because the alcohol combined with the heat will dehydrate you to the point of death.  Come to California, where you can... you know... go outside during the daytime.

I'd come, but I'd just lurk in the background like I do here. Also I'm poor.

Fake edit: June 29th here. My father is in early July, my stepfather is June 2nd and a couple other people I know are in June. Does everyone just have sex in October?

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I don't know what you all had in mind, but you don't go outside during the day in Arizona except to get to your car.

The heat's not that bad because you just don't step into it.  You certainly don't go midday drinking.  The more nocturnal you can make your lifestyle, the better.  Summer nights are awesome.

Not if it's Roy's, it isn't.  That's what you were planning, right?  Roy's?

Also, to agree with Schild just this once, at no time is Arizona EVER worse than the heat in Florida.  I've been here a week and have never had to drink so much water in my life.

That's pretty much it, when I had to describe Arizona to someone I basically said: think of it like being on Mars, you hop from one air conditioned bubble to the next spending as little time exposed as possible, the only difference is you actually don't need a space suit.

As long as you stay out of the sun, it's not too bad -- stay in the shade, and with cool and frothy beverage in hand, even in the midst of 110 degree July-August heat, is a lot more livable than say, Minnesota in December…

But usually in July, I head north for cooler confines…

Let me know if you all are going to be west of I-17 as I don't usually make a habit of crossing I-17… …except for an occasional trek into N. Scottsdale…

Heh I'm headed down precisely because there is sun. Last trip I made was in August and it was nice. I like the heat. And the beer.

S'ok dude. You've just inspired me to bring a sketch book so that we can do collaborative speculative portrait sketches of non-attending F13 regs. and then drunkenly abuse and molest them. Don't worry, you'll be a rock star.

Yea, I'll pass. Closest I'm going to a desert this year will be a June golf trip in to the Okanagan. I can't even fucking imagine being in AZ in July. Let me know the next time you try for a get together a little further north.
