Just mentioning the "i'm poopin" picture is enough to get my son going for several minutes. Can't wait to hear about him bringing this up in Sunday school.  Just an idea for no one in particular, if anyone is planning on getting DB2 support, don't get it from SAP. Even if they are doing the installation. I found out that the asshole kid who used to walk through my yard rather than go the 10 extra feet to the public right of way, and park in the graveyard across the street, murdered 2 people and is now a fugitive.

So why the hell does it take 2 weeks for cable to be set up when the gas and water companies can do everything over the phone? My new place has everything ready to go as of today (when I moved in) except cable TV\internet, because they can't come out and give me the modem until the middle of July. It's not like the place isn't ready for it or any serious work needs to be done...

Isn't only part of Lake Oswego in Clackamas? My sister lives there, and I swear I remember her talking about her being in a different county.
It's next to Washington County, but the City of LO website says it's in Clack. There's a lot of sweet riverfront property in Clack Co. |

It's still a bit more convoluted to run a a strand of fiber to someone's house and install a battery and terminating equipment than it is to plug in a modem to a piece of coax. |

My jibe was based on actual user reports ;P I haven't read any in awhile but when I did they all seemed to be of the "4 techs showed up and spent 2 days working on it but now that it is working i love it" variety. |

Comcast. Someone has to physically come out and do the work (basically, plug the modem in and turn on the cable box to ensure it works) and they won't just send it to you. I offered to go to their office, pay them the service fees, and then get the box and modem for myself to do. The lady on the phone didn't like that idea. |

(Granted they were two nice guys, forced to go out at nine in the evening, and their normal gig was just doing the wiring. Things were so crazy at the time they were making every person available do modem installs.)

Been here done that. I had one guy actually ask me if I wanted to work for Cox doing cable modem installs since I was obviously good at it and he needed more help. I've honestly never had a bad cable modem guy, just bad cable TV box guys. |

Every time we had Comcast, they were very quick to come out but nearly always had some sort of problem or another. We've also had dozens of cable boxes because they're total shite and never last. You can, however, just put everything in a bag, go to the hard to find Comcast office and swap it out, no questions asked. They know their shit is shite. You can't do that with FIOS. They have to schedule a visit. FIOS was also very quick to come out and install but took a lot longer time to set every thing up. There's a lot more to set up. He was here the entire afternoon! Which I didn't mind so much as he was sweet, cute, liked my coffee and was very gossipy. He was also pretty knowledgeable about his job.
