Four hours isn't exactly far.  Unless you're me... and terrified to get on the freeways... or any street with more than five cars passing within a minute time frame...  I need my blankie.  *whimper*

Four hours? That's nothing. I can drive that far in three hours.

It's not the distance, it's the humanity. I'd never actually planned on going anywhere in Texas outside of Austin.

I do live at the edge of the Museum and Montrose districts.  So we're about as weird as Houston gets, if it helps.  Tame by Austin standards, but it's not Clear Lake.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

If I lived where you live, I'd be at that exhibit at *least* once a week.

Fuck, I live in Clear Lake.  So we're the worst, huh?  Never lived anywhere else in Houston so I've had nothing to compare it to.

From the sound of things, it looks like f13 might have to have a Terracotta Army getogether at the Terrocotta Exhibit.

Depends on what you mean by worst.  It's pretty conservative, but also highly educated.  Kingwood and Katy might beat it.  And it's not like any of them are the Third Ward or Gunspoint...

I also harbor (hah!) a deep resentment for Clear Lake since I was forced to move there in the middle of high school.  It's not rational, but since it messed with my psyche so badly, I don't particularly care.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

I was just going off of your "tame by Austin standards, but it's not Clear Lake" line, and I have a tendency to assume the worst when it comes to Texas.  why so serious?

Edit: and by worst, I mean in the ignorant, bigoted sense.

Those are fun districts :)

I'm so down for a Houston get together.  I'd love to see the exhibit too.  And what's this about pubs? I think I owe Schild a drink or two.

In the boring and stuffy sense.  Education levels mitigate the bigoted part to a large extent.  At least until you reach the surrounding area.  Pasa-git-down-dena for example.

Whew, I was starting to feel bad about living in Clear Lake, and then you mentioned Pasadena.  Man, I got it goooood.

I just got back from there this week.  Stuffy and boring is true.  Stamp housing everywhere and brand new shopping centers all over the place.  The suburbs for sure.  I was also making fun of my sister-in-law's husband for growing up in Pasadena, and him defending how it didn't smell *that* bad...

My sister lived in Clear Lake for a few years. Never visited her there. Now she's in Budapest, which is more tempting.

Absolutely not.  Especially since it sounds as if you're having a dead pool all by yourself.  Dead pools are my serious hobby.  You should start an f13 dead pool.
