I kept going for my full BS set even after I started Molten Core, just because it looks awesome on Tauren. When I got it all, I didn't break it till I had 3 pieces of Giantstalker because the bonuses before 1.10 were just amazing. I ran UD Strat forever to get my boots, axes, pants, and cloak, and when I eventually got them all I found myself at Revered with Argent Dawn, which was nice for Naxx attunement (and the shoulder enchants).

I've been through UBRS probably over a hundred times and NEVER saw the draconian deflector drop.   Everyone else I know has sharded it multiple times...   Sad Panda

By the time I started raiding MC I had about 3/4 of the beaststalker set, in the bank. The stuff from dire maul really is far better IMO. That was with the old set bonuses but the new ones don't look that impressive though that 6 bonus might be nice if you are starting mc and don't have a lot of mana yet. By upgrading to the .05 set the 6 bonus moves to 4 piece if you are in a guild capable of doing the baron run though.

I've done it, but for someone else. It helped having a full Tier 2 healer and tank along.

I've NEVER been to Dire Maul or Scholo.

Dire Maul = love. About all of the pre-raid gear lists my guild and I wrote up a bit ago are about half Dire Maul drops (and a surprising amount from BRD actually). Scholo though, is a very, very evil place, just in terms of trash really. The bosses are pushovers, but some of those trash pulls are simply insta-wipes :-(.

It's ALOT better since they toned it down to 5 man only. Maybe a 3rd to half of the trash in Scholo just doesn't exist anymore, and the mobs seem to be easier aswell (that just may be a case of our gear being better these days though). The worst room is probably that first one, where the Succubus roams. AE Knockbacking ManaBurning Fearing mobs... mean little bastards :(.

Unless someone in your group needs the deed in the corner you can get away with pulling the 2 groups by the door up the stairs and then ignore the rest of the room.

And last night I scored myself the GS helm and gloves. Three pieces now (I had the belt).

GS helm looks awesome too, especially on an Orc. It was my first bit of GS.

Wow.  That's amazing.  I had no idea the ratio was that bad.  I wonder why?

Hot Elf Pussy and Hot Elf Mangina.

Plus Humanness of the above, and the fact that people like playing humans in these games. And Gnome Dolly Cuteness. And that Dwarfs look like Dwarfs should.

OTOH, while the Cows and Orcs look cool, the Trolls are pretty Meh, and the Undead look shit.

Going back to talking about AV for a minute, ever since the patch in the battlegroup my server is in, both sides have turned AV into a race.  An AV game is now on average quicker than an AB game and gives a lot more honor, so AV is where everyone is going now to farm honor.  Haven't seen Lok summoned once since the patch.  I've also seen a lot more people who just leech in the BG's, only moving their characters every so often to keep from going afk, including some of the top ranked people on the server.

Prior to the battlegrounds server merges, we used to win AV about half the time, maybe a little more, but the battles were fun.  There were a lot of battles where we pushed the horde back from our base and turned the game around to win it.

Since the merge, it's become a race to see who can kill the general fastest.  Booooooooooooooooring.  On some, there is no defense AT ALL. Nada.

This weekend, I've started seeing people doing a little defense, and people killing people and going for towers and graveyards again.  I'm hopeful it heads back to a fun direction.

I'm curious if other server clusters are similar.

(heh - I see someone else has the same experience).

Yeah, that's what I said a while back.  It already WAS a race before they stripped out the guards and such.. you all had different experiences because you were on PvP servers, I guess.

PvE realm BG teams are all about farming honor as efficiently as possible to climb ranks.  That means winning by charging the general, not dicking around with the actual battle.  It's the same reason you couldn't get any ABs on my server.. only AV or WSG.  Not enough Honor/ time

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.
