I'll be there most likely. With a drink in hand. Hopefully I can hold it together for a couple hours and not draft Ricky.

We should get as many folks on TS as possible- it will make the wailing and moaning and gnashing of teeth that much more enjoyable when I grab someone's sleeper 1 pick ahead of them.

Damn, no repeat this year I'm thinking... Doubtful I'll be able to make the draft as I play football tonight, and I've barely had a chance to look at Yahoo's shitty rankings, let alone research how I want my rankings to go...

No on completion points as well. Completion percentage would be a better stat.  evil

Yeah, fuck Yahoo for making the draft this early. I have no idea who to pick, nor have I made any rankings. Seat of my pants 4TW.

It is.  But unless your location is actually set as "Arizona" (Or if they even have an allowance for that and Indiana, our other bastard state) then you'll flipflop with the rest of the silly ass country.   And hey, even better with the new energy bill you get to be all fuxored for an additional month as of 2007.

Go into "Edit Team Info" and change your timezone settings to whatever works for you. I had to switch from Central/Chicago to Central GMT-6 to get it to work right.

I see Bennie making a season of it this year. You'll be swapping out Favre in no time, Shockeye.

I would just like to say, fuck my microphone, and fuck my ISP.

Of course the angry kick I gave the router when fucking with wires probably didn't help. However, since I'm an American nothing is inherently my fault, so it's all the ISP's problem.

I am pretty happy with my team, considering my horrifying draft position. If Hines Ward signs and Steve Smith can come all the way back, I am in good shape, methinks.

I have a weak bench.  My last 3 picks weren't stellar and I missed a couple opportunities. I have a feeling anyone that gets bit hard by the injury bug is going to have a rough time, especially with the slim pickings on the waiver wire.

My starting 5, if Jackson and Bennett don't go bust, has the potential to put up a scary amount of points.

My team's biggest worries are that the Edge isn't going to be happy in Indy, Reggie Wayne will get less balls because of Stokely or Harrison, Fred Taylor sprains his labia again, Buffalo's D is a one-hit wonder and Larry Fitzgerald can't catch enough balls with Kurt Warner being on his back all the time. I didn't really get a blockbuster points producer. Brady is money, but not big money. I forsee a middle of the pack run for me.

I did... okay.  The clock next to the comp said 7:25, but I missed the entire first round.  If Holmes can stay healthy, I'll be thrilled.

I actually like my team.  Bulger will probably kill me a few weeks with some excessive INT games, but he'll have more fantasy-friendly games to compensate.  The problem there is that I flaked on getting a decent backup, so I'll have difficulty game planning matchup issues for the weeks where the Rams play a tough pass defense.

RB wise, I like the fact that I got T. Jones in the 13th round.  He'll probably get replaced by Benson at some point, but given the length of that holdout situation, it'll be later in the season, and I've got a guy who'll get 25-30 touches a game.  Caddy Williams is strictly under the hopes that he gets into that 25-30 touches a game pace himself at some point early in the season.  And, again, I need Priest to stay healthy.

I like my depth at wide receiver.  I missed on a few late opportunities to do better, but overall my biggest fear is consistency.  I probably took Branch too early, but I think with Patten gone and Terrell being terrible, I think it's his year to get into that 1000+yd 10+td range.  T.O. will show up and put up numbers, but that's just an assumption on my part.

The Bears defense, which was decimated by injuries last year, still put up 35 sacks, 28 TOs, 6 TDs, and 3 safeties.  The gang is all back in good shape *knock on wood*, so I was thrilled to pick them up late.  Of course, I've probably just triggered the annual injury bug.

I have two steady if unimpressive RBs in Lewis and Portis, both of which have a chance of outperforming mediocre 2004 results. Nate Burleson in round 4 seemed like a gift. Collins threw a lot of picks in New York, but his receivers sucked so I am expecting Moss to make him (and me) look good.  Hopefully I can trade a surprisingly decent Pennington for a top #2 WR to one of you dipshits around week 4.

Collins made as many INT's in Oakland as he did in New York. I do expect Moss will help, but only by inflating his TD numbers even more. Also, Jerry Porter will now be a better receiver.

I think my draft strategy was the following:

1) Avoid problem attitudes and holdouts.  My biggest asshole on the team is David Boston and he's not going to be a factor.

2) Avoid players in bad offensive systems.  Good for the most part, although I do have Derrick Mason, two Dallas players (Whitten is their system though outside of Jones), and Boston.

3) Avoid fragile players.  Boston.

4) Avoid running-back by committee and training camp battles.  Only really LJ and Antwon Randle-El fit this. And they're backups. Well, and Boston.

5) Avoid rookies.  Got Edwards, but he's just a pure intrigue pick.  Rookie WR's rarely produce worth shit.

I passed up a lot of potentially good players for these criteria.  Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, Terrel Owens, JIHAD, Barber (couldn't justify him being a first pick), Thomas Jones, DeShaun Foster, etc.  May come down to bite me in the ass, but it's just really early in the season to be taking what I'd consider big risks.  My two dumb picks I'd have to say are Boston (obvious) and Randle El.  Just not sure he's going to pan out even though he showed signs of brilliance last year.

That draft position was killer.  Two players I was set to draft ended up getting selected either 1 or 2 picks ahead of me.  No Randy Moss or Julius Jones for me.  Ironically one is a attitude problem and the other is in a shitty system.   I was hoping to pick up D. Jack, but I had to secure a running back and wasn't 100% confident on selecting an Oakland running back.

Burleson was the steal of the draft followed pretty closely by Jake Delhomme. Way probably did the best with sleeper picks.  A lot of those guys could end up being major points producers.

I cannot deny he has been an INT machine, but if he gets 5 more TDs and 5 less INTs than 2004 I look smart. If he doesn't improve at all, then Moss was a disaster.

I can almost guarantee that Moss will be a disaster. He will put up some good numbers, but the guy is a self centered cockmunch that will destroy any team he is on.

No Randy Moss or Julius Jones for me.
Yeah auto draft picked them both up for me.  No way would I have selected Moss that high but I completely forgot to rate my players,  just forgot out draft started before the preseason even started.  I'm pretty happy with how the draft went though, even with Moss.  Even got a pair of decent QBs, Hasselbeck should do well and don't laugh but with the new receiver core Boller could have a nice year statwise.  Just glad I didn't wind up with TO  :p

Hah, I had a feeling you were on auto-draft, which is why I'm so suprised I got Drew Bennet.  He was the top ranked player by far left when I got to select him.  Yahoo's rankings were pretty decent, because I can't really think of a situation where I'd rather have Steven Jackson over Julius Jones.  You ended up with a good team, if a couple of your selections I think were a tad over rated by Yahoo.

In retrospect, I'm really glad you got Moss and I ended up with Culpepper.  Although a possible Culpepper/Moss tandem would have been fucking hilarius.

Really? I would take Jackson every time. He is in a far better offense, for one thing.
