We already have a 1pt per reception built in.  It turned Brian Westbrook into a GOD last year.

Seemed to work fairly well though in entirety.

So we're keeping it at 8 then? 8 out of 14 teams?

I strenuously object to this. 6 should be the absolute max. There's no reason in any league that we should play 14 weeks and eliminate less than half by playoff time.

My point isn't that it's not supposed to be for grins. It is a fun league. My point is that it should have SOME aspect of competition in it, and 57% playoffs is sort of silly.

How about swiss cheese and beef?  Really, quarterback formula worked pretty well last year.  No reason to tinker with it or add something that will just widen the gap between Patrick Ramsey and Peyton Manning.

Edit: I think with what we have now QB, RB and WR production will all be pretty much equal. 1 pt per reception kind of made WRs gods.  Adding points to completions would just distance QB production from WR and RB production somewhat.  Is that what people want?  Just for a point of reference, one season for a while we had 1 pt per 10 passing yards, it wasn't recieved well.

I am happy with the playoffs now. Stats seem ok except for the incomplete thing. It sort of ruins the QB as a scoring force, but since it's the same for everyone I can get used to it.

Punishing for incompletions is not a good plan. It severely weakens the QB contribution to the point of a 2nd tier WR since it is not adjusted for total passes thrown.  Take it out.

Other than that, everything looks good. 0.5 for receptions is fun. I usually do 0.35 or 0.25, but always willing to play with new tweaks.

Did we have points for completions last year?  I might be spacing there.  I just can't remember.  Anyhow (.25) per completion for a QB might not be totally out of line.

In a good game a QB will have 25 or so completions, 2+ td's and 1 or 2 int's for 250+ yards.  In a great game a QB will have 40 for 400 and 4td and 0 int's.

Giving points for completions will make the QB dwarf every other player on the team.  The winner will be whoevers QB had the better game.

That was essentially my league in the office last year. QBs could put up as many as 70 points in a game. I should know, I had Peyton.

That being said, completions are a good idea, and I think .25 is fair. Int's should be costly. I'd say (-3) or (-4) per with TD's at 6.

There is a reason that completions and incompletions are NOT given point values in 99.99% of leagues. Interceptions at -2 is completely standard.

Peyton Manning is absolutely #1, then, in this league. 0.25/completion is almost an extra touchdown every game for him. This is good for Favre and Culpepper too.

Since when would completions even matter for Manning being #1. It's just gravy really. The cat throws 4 TDs a game and 350+ yards.

I cannot deny that even without a completion bonus he shouldn't go later than pick #4 or 5, but he is solidly the king with it. My problem with drafting Manning #1 is that every goddamn league that has drafted so far this year is picking him #1. This kind of consensus usually ends up disappointed.

So what's the vote on completion points? Keep them or drop them?

I'd like to even out the quarterback points a bit and not have Manning and the other two knobs so far above everyone else.

Some sick and twisted part of me wants to create a football league where you get points for bad things, like fumbles and ints and incomplete passes and negatives for completions and touchdowns.

In that league, the 49ers would be king.

I say no as well on completion points.  At the very least if you're dead set on having them you need negatives for incompletes.

Yep, this is so sudden I haven't even done my rankings yet (being a horrible procrastinator doesn't help either).  God, there's just so many question marks heading into this one.   Going to be a lot of luck involved in this.

I'd give advice but I don't want to prevent someone from picking someone that might not even start. I'm going to need all of the help I can get.

Looks like today I'm not going to be getting much done at work.
