Are those the default settings?  That looks pretty awful.  Like, shockingly bad, I thought people were joking about this.  How can you have a staff of ten squintillion people working on visual design and none of them notice the characters look shellacked?

Also, lol at the bit when they're running to the portal and green fireballs are raining down around them.   You just know someone said "this needs to grab new players, we need to make this scene more EPIC" but they couldn't figure out a way to do that in a fantasy setting so they just said "fuck it" and gave the demons howitzers.

They must have had access to some really amazing hair conditioner in this time period.  WTF is with that?

I've heard people in the industry compare video games to medieval cathedrals. Those massive structures required coordination from so many different disciplines: architects, masons, painters, mosaicists, glass blowers, sculptors. Video games must also fuse the talents of many different craftsmen and artists: composers, sound designers, level designers, systems designers, visual artists, animators, programmers, voice actors, writers and storytellers. Just like the Notre Dame, you can tell when all of those disciplines are meshing together to form a video game that will be remembered for a long time. Dragon Age: Inquisition is a masterwork. - Escapist 10/10

Kind of his thing.  He always adds in his own music in these, and it always makes it better.

AAGGH..

The Mason was the Architect in the 1400s and was called the "Master Builder." Architect as a profession separated from the craftsmen didn't happen until sometime in the 1700s.  For Cathedrals he was the guy in charge and everyone else came in after-the-fact. No coordination, you built your tiles, frescoes and glass into what the masons gave you, as they were powerful men. (Which is why the 'secret society' group is called the Masons today)

Couldn't hold it in.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

I. don't. even. Somebody at the Escapist wrote that? In earnest?

The groundbreaking for Notre Dame was in 1163 and it was completed in 1345. So I eagerly await the next installment in the Dragon Age franchise 182 years from now. Also if you're stupid or bold enough to compare someone else's work to building a cathedral you should at least be able to design non-glossy hair.
