The Reason For Server Downtime

Our server is getting attacked by denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on a regular basis. The attacks usually occur in the evening and at night (European time).

Because of that we have to disable user registrations and the shop from time to time, and you will get the message about 'Server Maintenance'.

We will try to find a solution as soon as possible.

I have a server running at ndizzle.dyndns.org or 67.172.160.50.

I joined but "Timster" didn't know who I was.

Oh, that's one of my friends kids who is like 12. Sorry, must have just missed you. We did a marathon session of like 3 or 4 hours yesterday.

Game works much better multiplayer, a lot of the temples are almost impossible to solo (at least for a warrior).

They have a thread on the official forum that people are posting their seeds on if people are looking for certain things (i.e high quality lamps).

The higher level you are the higher level recipes (with old ingredients) you can make. They still don't heal very well, however pumpkin muffin +50 works a lot better then +5. The mushrooms are a much better alternative.

For people near Ice biomes, the frozen flowers seem to have about a 50% chance to defrost into two heart flowers, which helps collect them that much faster. Different powered potions take up different stacks, so I usually try to have 100 potions before a multiplayer session, 50 of my highest stack and 50 one level under. Also hope they include a "craft all" button, seesh.

Annoying that pet food are random drops for the most part, can't seem to get the ones I actually want, but a frog riding an alpaca is a reward in itself.

I started with a ninja, and healing items were a thing. Play a water mage, and you don't even need potions. It's like being superman.

I have to emphatically endorse this LetsPlayist for many other games (MineCraft, SimCity, etc.). Here's his episode number 1 of Cube World. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoRSgFxX0HA (23 minutes).

Mobs with + levels have a way higher chance then normal to drop rare loot. Pretty much full orange tier after running around two ocean islands, and since dropped equipment isn't adjusted so you can also upgrade it later (although at higher levels it costs a ridiculous amount of platinum coins).

Yeah, just be aware that as far as I've been able to tell hunting trivial mobs (like, level 3 and you're 15) always drop power level 1 items. But in my current game I've found a nomad city (seriously, a giant desert city that's about the size of a friendly town) full of Nomad+3's. Loot everywhere!

According to the developers people are randomly launching ddos attacks on them. I'm not sure if they are telling the truth or trying to hide poor storefront coding.  It is just a shame that I can't give them my money.

Collapsing under unanticipated initial launch signup/payment/download load happens to projects with $100M budgets and projects with $10K budgets -- it's embarrassing, it gets sorted out, and people move on.  I'm willing to cut a small shop some slack as they get this stuff sorted -- I mean, really, I've seen Google (a company that does infrastructure and scale better than almost any other) product launches stagger under initial loads.

Considering what's been happening, I think we can agree now this was a mistake on his part. Over a holiday weekend no less here in the USA. I think it was monumentally stupid not to just have someone handle the shop portion and give up your vig so that you can rake in the dollars.

The game is easier to pirate than it is to purchase. Conveniently, you can move your saved characters and worlds.

That was basically what a friend and I did when the shop was down. We were able to buy a few nights ago, and moved our saves over without issue.

That said, not having a working shop is utterly fucking stupid. The amount of money lost is criminal.

The level of fail that someone actually has to set up a third party site to show when you aren't failing is  why so serious?

On the plus side, if he can get this stuff sorted out, the game itself shows a lot of promise in my opinion.  Just found a large valley filled with +1 monsters and got myself a couple of levels and some shiny loot, also found 3 or 4 caves to explore.  I still hope he adds some very expansive cave systems ala Minecraft at some point, I'd love there to be able to spend lots of time underground.

Yeah, water mage is where it's at. I think I'm close to level 60 now.

You'll be the guy who kites/kills stuff as people come back to resume the fight.

It's funny watching the warriors leap into a spinning melee mob only to be instagibbed. Then again people who don't want to learn game mechanics trend towards warriors, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Hey, eff you, catass. Some people know where the dodge button is, and warrior is a pretty fun class in many games.

That said, roll a water mage.

And THAT said, there are a few places my warrior would outshine a water mage, though it would cost a bunch of potions to do so. Even with a pet (my warrior doesnt have one, didn't know how), fighting a troll boss was brutal, too many interrupts and too much spike damage. But for my warrior it was just another tedious boss battle dodge/attack fest. Level 5 on the warrior and 4 on the mage, though the mage can roll most content so much easier (it's good for people who don't want to learn game mechanics  why so serious?)

I liked the water mage but I really am loving my scout with a crossbow.

Plink plink, uber crit!, plink plink.

I finally figured out there was dodging when I accidently my middle button.

Can't dodge this troll though.

I saw an explorers video from Wollay where he moved the map to see previously explored areas.  Can't figure out how (if I can) do that.  Also, finally found a crossed swords site that's not red.  Unfortunately I did so just as it got dark, and not a campfire to be found.

You don't even have to learn. There are people that already figured out how to do this before, and you're losing money daily in spite of a percentage.

Despite the store antics here that give me pause about how well this guy is going to be able to develop this thing (mainly I worry he is a stubborn SOB who isn't going to take any constructive criticism about the game), I'm having fun with this.

Turtles are awesome, and I just found a huge valley in my game filled with +3s.

Now if only the store would stay up long enough for some of my real life friends to get a copy so we could play together  why so serious?
