The task bar used to be much worse.  Any single change you made to a skill or bridge officer assignment, would completely scramble the task bar.  Now, it kind of works like a Tivo.  It still scrambles everything the first few times, but it eventually learns not to fuck everything up.  Over time, it will even remember the layouts of different ships.

So what are deployable turrets? I saw an option to craft them.

Just a device that creates a turret when used. Baslcy spawns a turret you kick out the back and which sits there and shoots stuff. Lasts for 5 minutes. Some have charges and can be used for a certain amount of times, some are one use.

Hmm. Might get some sometime.

Also, my tribbles have stopped breeding. I culled out the low-level ones (down to 2 tufs and a green one I made), and there's plenty of drink and food, but they haven't spawned in the last 24 hours.

There's not like, I dunno, a maximum number of times it can reproduce is there?

The same thing you can get through Duty Officer missions (Espionage: Steal X Prototype or Diplomacy: Purchase X Prototype, followed by Engineering: Assemble X From Prototype). Except you can only craft phasers, while there are Duty Officer prototypes for every type of weapon in the game.

Once you get to a certain level their tastes become more refined. There's several charts out there.

The big thing to realize is that once you have an advanced tribble you HAVE to feed it the specified food to get the next one up the chain. Otherwise it just sits there.

Heres the chart I use

Does anyone know if they stopped Tribbles breeding in Bridge Officer inventories? I've been trying to force feed Ketracel white to several Tribbles for ages now in my Bridge Officer inventories but none of them have consumed it yet, and thus I am without the Gamma Tribble :-(

I;'ve never tried it, but I think I remember reading they removed it yeah. Besides, Bridge officers will use food stored in their inventories.

Anyway its not that hard. Just leave a trib in your inventory with some ketracel and it will pop up.

The fuckers finally reproduced! I now own three green tribbles. I am way more excited than I should be. :)

Also, I realized I could visit more of the ship than the bridge and started making photon and disrupter turrets. And a performance of hamlet, for reasons I am uncertain of. :)

I'll get him sooner or later. I need to get started on the exteme drinking one -- only have the one bartender though. A blue, however! :) as it is I spend a good hour playing "tour the galaxy" when I log on, trying to finish up a bunch of chains...

The Mark XII Omaga actually very very sweet looking. The Klingon Honor Guard on a Gorn though is bloody fantastic. They extend the helmet to fit in the snout, and it has a swirling cape of JUSTICE!!

If anyone wants to friend me for STFs or watever you can friend Suranis@Suranis. I have 8 chars though, one for every occasion :)

Also, I made new tribbles using SCIENCE!

edited to add: Seriously? The set bonuses don't work unless they're ALL Mark X or XI? Goddammit! (I have a Mark X armor, Mark XI PSG and weapon for the Omega set and I'm getting the 2/3 bonus, not the 3/3. On the bright side, I got all that through finding the appropriate salvage pieces so I guess I'll just do Khitomer ground until I get a rare Armor salvage....or enough EDC's.)

It sets up the Starbase as a transwarp destination so you can jump to it from anywhere. Very useful when the base has all the bells and whistles so you dont have to go back to ESD. As a bonus, when you warp out of the area you emerge back where you came from originally

That's pretty nice. :) I now have two Gamma Quadrant tribbles and a pair of blue tribbles. So that's going well. :)

Still trying to force a Rare Borg Armor Tech to drop. Stupid set bonuses set up by morons. So sick of remodulating weapons every 10 seconds.

What I did was get a mark X set together with 60 odd EDCs and use that till the rares drop. Mark X maco is good for survivability but you can go for the Mark X omega if you want. Since you already have an X piece that means you only need 40 EDCs, or 20 elite space stfs.

I have the XI shield and gun. I have the X armor. I think it's cheaper to save up the EDC to get the XI armor.

Just a matter of which salvage dropped. My one real big bitch about the PvE queue is that you can queue for the wrong thing really easily. I'm not sure how, but it seems like when you open it there's already something selected and it's not always what's highlighted. Or maybe I highlighted and didn't click.

Suffice to say, I've queued for elite STF stuff on accident several times -- and it's ALWAYS the same queue. (It only changed when I got access to more pve stuff).

To get the cooler looking armour. You have to go to a tailor. On the top right hand corner there will be a drop down menu. One of the Options will now be "Omega" or "maco" Select one and you will swap to the new armour

The mark XII is better looking and you get to change your head into a helmet, but its a start.

So what's the transwarp gate upgrades do for the starbase?

The first one did as Sir T said.  The one that just completed added new destinations if you use the gate from the starbase: Risa, Gateway, and Regulus.  As far as I can tell, you can transwarp to the starbase and then immediately warp to these destinations from there.  There isn't a shared cooldown.

So what's the plan with the Starbase? How are things going? I just sorta...donate to whatever projects are up, but I can't actually see what choices you have and stuff. Just what's active.

So, each category has the same set of projects.  There is a provisioning project, a buff project, an operational asset project, and an xp project.

The xp project gives 1000 xp and nothing else (all the others give 500 xp and something to the store inventory), and also requires a large amount of duty officers, so I don't run them too often because it takes a while to build up my doff population.

The buff project stocks the store with temporary buffs that you can use any time I think, but the requirements are VERY specific.  It asks for 30 each of two specific duty officer professions, and that is too much of a pain in the ass to supply for a small fleet like ours.  My Klingons are in a 500 member fleet and those assignments still take days to fill up.  The operational asset projects are the same except the buffs can only be used in fleet specific missions, like the starbase defense missions.  Actually, I might be mixing up the buff and operational asset projects, one is easily affordable, and I set up regularly, the other is as described.

The provisioning assignments stock the store with items.  Engineering supplies ground armor and weapons, Science supplies ground shields, and Tactical supplies ships.  I'm avoiding doing any more of these at the moment (although the store is still stocked so have at it) because the current tier missions give 5 requisitions and cost 60k dilithium, and the tier 2 missions give 15 for 40k.  I'm stretched thin on dilithium as it is, saving up for the bi-weekly special projects while still contributing some to other projects.  I don't do the ship provisioning one much anymore because we have plenty as it is.

The goal is to have everything at tier 2, which will happen relatively soon.  The tier 2 fabricator will unlock space weapons, so I will then start projects that will provision those.  The tier 2 shipyard unlocks.. nothing terribly noteworthy, but more choices of ships to buy is still a good thing.  After that, there's no real plan, other than to keep everything as stocked as I can, and to work steadily towards tier 3 on at least one category, so I can upgrade the starbase to tier 3.  This is a very long term goal however.  The tier 3 fabricator unlocks elite fleet weapons and armor, the array unlocks elite fleet shields and the transwarp gate upgrade, and the shipyard unlocks more ships.  If there is a particular category that appeals to you guys, let me know and I will focus on it more.  Again though, very long term.  We won't get there any time soon.

Right now, we need Romulan Ale for the bartender.  After that completes we will be done with any special upgrades until tier 3.

They are hyping up season 7 at the moment. Essentially the big change is that you wont get your STF gear from random drops anymore. YOu will get it by basically doing personal starbase missions for "reputation points" that you can cash in to get various powers and stuff, and you will be able to buy the elite STF gear when you hit Omega level 5.

Essentially, rather than grinding for them you will now have to GRIND FOR THEM FOR MONTHS

Sad to say but I'm getting less enthused. I love the overall feel of the combat but the rest of the game is turning into a dilithium sink and grind fest.

Ugh, I'm still saving up for the engine. I have the Omega XI ground set, but just the XI Maco Shield for my ship.

I'm considering getting another ship too. Haven't decided what. Fleet refit, I'd imagine, when the starbase gets there. Maybe a tactical vessel. Not a science vessel -- already have two of those (Mirror Universe and the regular top-end one).
