Uh-oh, they're talking about a class action. This shit just got serious  why so serious?

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=26352

Quote
to all those people who want to throw the fact it says
up to
5 days early access . and use this as a you get what they promised
UP TO
5 days meaning 1 day 2 days 3 days 4 days and even 5 days of access

i think those of us with only UP TO 5 days should look into a class action lawsuit, if others are given 6 and 7 days access, as false advertising because up to 5 days is 1 2 3 4 and 5 not 6 or 7.
to avoid a lawsuit bioware should take everyone who would get 6 or 7 days access thus creating a false advertising on bowares part and deny them 2 of the next 5 days access thus giving all pre orders the advertised UP to 5 days access

so if they got in Tuesday they need to be denied 2 days before the 19th and those who got in Wednesday should be denied 1 day before the 19th

we bought early access as part of a contract for a product. nowhere did it ever say 6 or 7 days access and if it was a gift then bioware should legally be responsible for business perk gift taxes of 2 days for every person they gave a gift to. bioware you are a business and are bound by law to certain business rules

Today's post by Stephen Reid:

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=26745

Quote
Morning everyone!

We're starting to send out more invites for today.

Here's the good news: overnight we decided to send out more invites than we had originally planned. However, we'll be spacing those invites out, which means we'll have more 'waves' than the previous four-per-day. We are inviting more people today than we did during yesterday.

I'll update this thread as we send invites. As a reminder, we're also updating our official Twitter accounts (@SWTOR, @SWTOR_FR and @SWTOR_DE) with the invites as they sent; that'll be more up-to-the-minute than this post.

For anyone who's not yet been invited, remember to have the email address no-reply@bioware.swtor.com in your address book so it doesn't hit spam filters.

Assuming you have the SWTOR client installed, you can also periodically launch it. If you're ready to go your 'play' button will be click-able.

EDIT: Second wave sent, 10am EST, 4pm CET . Maybe end of october-very beginning of november?

At this rate, I actually have a shot today. Too bad I have no PC built yet for it.  ACK!

I may have to be *ahem... sick tomorrow from work just to get all the install shit done once my graphix card comes in.

And I expect all you early adopters to run me through shit and suffer through my painfully slow decision making processes in the conversation wheels.  why so serious?

So are we absolutely sure the non-pre-order copies will not get early access? I'll be getting my copy tomorrow and I'll stick it in right away. I have characters to run through LFR, I certainly hope I don't magically get TOR access because I don't trust myself to play the correct game  swamp poop

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.

The early access hinges on having the pre-order code entered on your account page at swtor website, i believe. So essentially no, won't be able to play before 20th without it.

I'm guessing the 3rd wave covers November 10-20th because 21st ain't in yet Ohhhhh, I see.

edit: they said it's going to be 7 waves today and letting in more people than yesterday, so that's why the smaller chunks, probably.

What the hell is a "business perk gift tax" and how could such a thing be used to force a company to let you play games for free before they are officially released?

We've got a pretty good level spread in BC right now. I was going to roll an alt (well, I rolled them for names, but haven't played them) but at this point I'd have a hard time switching stories, I think. Maybe I could play the Hutta-based Agent, but I'm surprised at my resistance to cheating on my Powertech.

As far as dialog-skipping, I haven't found it to be an issue yet - though by our third run through Black Talon we did skip a couple. The minor (and major!) variations depending on who wins the roll helps keep it interesting imo.

11/28, today, one time.  ONE TIME.

Not gonna lie, this early access scheme has pissed me off.  I understand it's irrational and emotional of me, but I think it's kind of human nature to get annoyed at the arbitrary lack of information they've given us.  It's like a jackass bouncer at the front door that could tell you when you'll probably get in, but won't, so you have no idea and feel utterly helpless.  And want to kick him in the balls.

I also only play MMORPGs at release:  The experience of discovery/clusterfuck is actually, believe it or not, why I play MMORPGs.  I don't think they are good games, but at release they are more like crazy experiments than games*.  I'm annoyed that this is being taken away, to some extent.

*It should be noted that I'm not interested in technical difficulties as being part of this experiment.  It's more the game world/social aspect that interests me.  Once everyone is leveled up, and everything is mapped out, everything gets real boring.

Aaaaaand this is post #1000.  After 7 years on this forum.   awesome, for real

The UK Bioware rep recommended making sure that you get a pre-order code when you get a copy even if you buy it over the next couple of days so that you get some early access.

My only gripe to this gated release/access thing. This is why most of my old guilds in games fail... because a set of people that can level more than others, break and go off with other like-levels. So basically BW is just going ahead and doing it for us  swamp poop. And I say this without a PC to play SWTOR on so I am not raging on it. Just disappointed with the situation.

Wonder what percentage of the game's population is going to be left to start the game on the 20th. I can't see some big Dec 20th crush for whatever reason.

Server pop. in Europe is really starting to increase (already lots of "full" servers), and it's 6.45pm CET . I think they'll open more servers within a few hours (german ones are packed)

And I've already trashed three things by dragging them to the character portrait.  So used to WoW and the popup being 'Are you sure you want to equip this bind on equip item'.  Instead this time it's 'Are you sure you want to trash this item.'
