I have 13 normally, but proudft inflicted MNG injuries on one of my berserkers (QQ) and one of my throwers (whatevs) in addition to killing poor Flint. I don't have a yhetee, nor can I afford one even if I wanted one (which I don't in particular). I'll have one berserker, two runners, two wolves, one thrower, and five linemen.

Generally I prefer to avoid picking up dudes with inducements, because they without fail blow a loner roll or pick up my MVP or whatever. Morg is probably my one exception. <3

If anything, I would at least consider inducing a Big Guy just to see if you'll like him. But yea, keep a little bit of a bench.

Like I said, I can't afford him even if I wanted him (I have 120k gold right now, he's something obnoxious like 170k), so that's sort of moot either way. Linemen are cheap, I could grab two more if I reeeeally wanted and just fire a guy afterwards if I feel too fat (it would carry me up to 15 once everyone was healthy, which seems like a lot).

I mean, induce as in use your Inducements cash pool, to at some point hire an Wendigo for a single game.

Yeah, inducing big guys is great.  They already have loner and I'm pretty sure it's just an extra 50k to give them a regular access skill, like guard or break tackle.

I'm not sure IanC and I are going to get the game in. I'm not sure if we're the only ones left, but the time difference and schedules aren't working out.

Given the fact we're both at the bottom of our division and largely irrelevant, I don't really mind just passing and going to the failoffs.

I would like to play the game because I would like the opportunity to develop my team and I don't want to take a default result based on one failure to meet up - especially as I was there at the time we agreed. Our time difference isn't insurmountable and I'll be there if you can commit to an new time that's reasonable.

I can't. I leave tomorrow for a funeral, and I cannot play in the mornings due to work. I would like to make this work as well, but when I showed up 40m late to our agreed time at 1:40 my time, you suggested another time 3 hours later (where I was on steam for 8 hours straight) and that didn't work. When I suggested Saturday you were at a concert. Face it, I'm not willing to get up at 6AM my time to play a game, and you are in bed by the time I get home. I don't think it's feasible, nor do I care enough to bother with all the other personal shit I'm dealing with right now.

I made sure I had enough time clear to play our game if we'd started on time. When you turned up nearly an hour later it wouldn't have been possible. I don't mind playing late at night or early in the morning as long as you're actually going to turn up when you say you will.

You'll have 330 in inducements because I just picked up Lyndon Baynes "The Pain" Johnson to fill in for Thomas Jefferson this match.  Not enough for Morg, but exactly enough for Icepelt Hammerblow.  He doesn't have block though, which if you ask me is a huge liability.  Yhetee mercs are 170 so if you got one of those you'd still have 160 left over, but it's a merc so Loner and no block either.

You can spend an additional 50k on a merc to give it a skill it could get on a normal levelup, so for a yheetee you could add guard or something.

Icepelt Hammerblow is the same as a regular yheetee with +1 str, thick skull, and no wild animal. Not sure that is worth the difference in price, but no wild animal is a pretty big advantage.

It's also worth pointing out that in most cases a Wandering Apothecary (100k inducement) is equivalent to an extra player on the bench. Not guaranteed, of course, because you need at least one of the casualty results to be a Badly Hurt, but I am guessing that over the course of a game against Ruvaldt you will have plenty of opportunities to use apothecaries. The key is to use the WA with that intention in mind, rather than the usual apothecary mentality of saving it for a serious injury or high-value player.

Ok, I lost 5 - 0 to AndyDavo in a game that felt ridiculous since the get go. Strangely enough, I got a lot of POW and the d6 has been totally in my favour. Still, I managed to get 1 CAS/KO in the whole game, which means that no matter how pounded his players were always there. Even more so if you consider that he has lots of Sidestep. Anyway, no excuses for a terribly played game the moment he went up 2-0. I lost any concentration and just wanted it to end as soon as possible, which led me to stupid "Both Down" choices with the only player in my team without Block, or a silly last turn without realizing he still had one to score. On my first drive I actually had one weird chance to score, I had to pick up and do a simple handoff, but the pickup with rerolls failed and his player picked up the scatter ball (and scored).

At least Sylvia Plath earned the 6th level and became a superstar (despite a pathetic failed 3+ pass with rerolls that really killed my mood).

I think Llyse may be some place w/ very poor internet. I know when we played our game last night, the "lost connection, attempting to reconnect" thing came up every 3rd turn or so, and alot of his prompts during my turns (asking about wrestle, fend, etc) ended up timing out. I ended up conceding mainly because I didn't see a way to win the game (down 2 scores mid 2nd half, 6 players left on pitch vs. 10), it was taking for-e-ver, and I wanted to get back to Terraia. I can confirm that Llyse deserves his 4-0 win with my abandoning the match.

Sjofn - if it were me going into this match up I would do the following....

-Kick number 10 and rehire a new lino.
- Hire 1 more lino, to take you to 12 players.

This will give a TV difference of 280. Since he only has 11 players a valid tactic would be to aim for player removal, Fouling would be your best bet. Hire a merc lineman and give him DP (cost 50k +30k +50k = 130k), then get a bribe +100k, then get a babe 50k. This would give you a team of 13 with some hitting power, and some recovery vs his 11. It would also make him think twice about using Piling On further keepign your players safe.

Norse are actually one of three teams i may reroll to.  Khemri and Amazon being the other 2.

I apologize for being late. As I explained, I was on a date with a young lady, who turned out to be very interesting, that I couldn't just up and leave to go play Blood Bowl in the middle of the afternoon. When I showed up and you were still on, you told me to be there in 3 hours, and then never came back. Now, I have a funeral for my best friend's mother tomorrow that I have to get on a plane to Dallas TX for, and I'm a little on edge about things.

So frankly, take the win. I don't care. Life has dealt me some odd hands right now, and the game is last on my list.

If nothing else, I totally forgot that dude had a niggling, so thanks for that.  awesome, for real I did fire him and hire another lineman (FIST ROCKBONE and ... Beat Punchbeef, I think? Now I forget.), I got enough "yeeeeah, 11 players would be bad" feedback to totally convince me I wasn't being a noob when I was considering adding at least one other dude.  Heart

I said I'd try to be around later and I'd ping you if I saw you online. Missing an arranged time happens, shit comes up and I'm not saying you should have cut your date short. Refusing to play at all though regardless (as there's already an extension for Strazos and Ulysees) is the issue.

Here's the problem. I am on a plane in 4 hours, I go to a funeral on Wednesday. I fly back Thursday. I get on a plane Friday morning, I fly down for early Christmas in Florida. I'm there until Sunday night.

So, if you want to try to play Thursday at 7PM EST, we can try, otherwise I'm literally not going to be around a computer until Monday the 19th again.

This is not me ducking you. This is literally life getting in the way.

If it's ok with Falc to hold off for another 48 hours I will be around at 7pm EST on Thursday.

Heh, my pc gear is literally sitting in customs at the airport. Hopefully our shipping staff can get it out and I can start setting up.

Friday night my time would be super. Saturday will be tough as I have to go hang out at an orphanage during the day, with a function at night. Sunday may be more possible but hard to say.

Appreciate folks giving us a shot at fitting this in.

I'm away from a computer this friday through to next tuesday, so I don't really mind. Let them play the games if they can get them in.

Even though the default win to Ulysses would be my prefered playoff option.  awesome, for real

EDIT: If the games can't be played I do think you have to give the win to Ulysses though. Everyone else Strazos wasn't able to play got the win against him, and that impacted the final standings just as much.

I don't know either Falc. I don't like just forcing a draw or a loss for someone because it affects Eldaec who isn't involved in the game. You could always just rule Strazos out of the playoffs by fiat.  why so serious?
