Am free pretty much any evening this week Eldaec, though have an appointment with Haemish for Friday at around 6pm for our bleatbowl game. Just hit me up on steam if you see me to get our 4th playoff place decider done.

Sjofn!

I'm a billion light years away from you as you thoughtlessly decided to live on an inconvenient part of a different continent. I am nothing if not magnanimous however so I will allow you to share a pitch with my pretty, pretty elves at some point. I suspect that the weekend will be the best time unless you are able to play during your early afternoons on weekdays.

The Mutiny wins, 2-1. The first attempt at a match was going pretty well for IainC (although it was 0-0 when it crashed), the second attempt ... was bloody. But most (all?) of it wasn't permanent, I don't think (although his thrower is MNG). He had four elves left at the end of the game, and I'm pretty sure he did more damage to himself with failed dodges than I did punching. LUMP BEEFBROTH, super runner, completed a pass to go up a level, but naturally he got MVP as well. SMOKE MANMUSCLE, one of my throwers, also went up. My shitty werewolf continues to be shitty.

EDIT: I think the conclusion to draw is that my little dudes did not forget being slapped in the face by IainC predicting Paelos' team would beat them.  why so serious?

At least this game can't possibly be as bad as the one v Carnifex.

Yeah, so about that...

We played three or four turns of the game before my client crashed. That game was going well for me as well - I had injured a werewolf and another random Norseman and was contesting the ball from my kick deep in the Norse half. Then my client crashed, Sjofn forced hers to close as well to reset the game and we replayed. The replay was ... not good for me.

The first half was unremarkable. I kicked to the Norse, they caged up and finally got through to score on turn 6. I pulled off a 2 turn TD to equalise and we went into the second half roughly even although my lack of a bench meant that I had 9 Elves facing a full roster of Norse.

The second half started badly with early turnovers on my first two turns before I could get the ball safe. The Norse took full advantage, helping four Elves off the pitch in that time and putting tackle zones on the ball. The rest of the half just got worse from there.

Here's a chronology:
Kickoff: A thrown rock stuns my wide receiver on the right.
Turn 9: The kick is short, I try to pick it up and throw it back to my Thrower who isn't in gank range of half the Norse team. I fail the pickup, burn my reroll and then fumble the pass. The Norse Badly Hurt my catcher (I use my Apoth to keep him in the game) and stun a lineman.
Turn 10: Fail a dodge with a lineman who KOs himself before I've done anything else. The Norse stun my Wardancer (the other is KOd from the first half) and Badly Hurt two linemen before picking up the ball.
Turn 11: I blitz the ball carrier with my thrower but he fails the 2+ dodge to get away from the Norseman marking him. The Norse stun another lineman and advance to scoring range.
Turn 12: I blitz the ball carrier with my thrower again, this time he makes the two dodges required but fails the GfI and suffers a MNG injury. The Norse try to give the ball to a more deserving Viking but drop the handoff. I have four players still on the pitch, one of whom is stunned and all of whom are on the floor so I'm not in a position to capitalise on this.
Turn 13: I stand up a lineman and try to get him clear but he fails the dodge and is Badly Hurt. The Norse KO another lineman. I now have two players on the pitch.
Turn 14: I stand my Wardancer up and Leap her clear. The Norse blitz her down again getting a stun (the Norse had a 100% strike rate against my Wardancers, every single block against them was a Pow) before walking in the winner.
Turn 15: I have 5 players to set up with. I run my Catcher as far down the pitch as I can and he fails the last GfI KOing himself. It's now impossible for me to equalise. The Norse stun a Wardancer.
Turn 16: I can't put the ball out of reach of the Norse so I throw it to a clear Lineelf who runs with it so the Norse will at least have to make a pass to score again. Amazingly this works. The Norse frenzy him off the pitch and the ball is thrown back on again right in front of a Norseman in range of my endzone  Ohhhhh, I see. He fails the pick up however and the game ends.

I get two level ups and a guaranteed ticket to the Failoffs.

Shit, I forgot you were down to two at one point. I guess I only remembered what you ended the game with.  why so serious?

EDIT: Also my berserker couldn't have made it to the end zone, but if he had picked it up and made a pass to my RUNNER, I could've scored. It would've been a good time, but ... I think you had suffered enough as it was.

South Park Smackdown | 1 - 1 | F13 Catfighters

The Chaos team took Morg, a babe and a reroll. All 3 proved very useful in a somewhat bloody game. My +1 ST Lineswomen is out for my last game vs highly skilled High Elves, as is one Beastman, each side also got a badly injured and several KO'ed. My +1AG Thrower gains a skill...think I'll get her Block after this game where the Chaos used their ST advantage to knock a lot of girls down on the pitch, despite the blodge and guard advantage I had.

I made several bad mistakes, the biggest one in the start of the match where I tried to dodge into two tacklezones instead of out of one, caused the Chaos team to score an easy defensive touchdown for Paelos's first point of the season. His Chaos team is only now starting to get dangerous - next season it's going to be very tough after building up this season.

Dwarves lose 1-0, despite having the ball free and clear in the hands of a guy who didn't move yet. I accidentally moved while scoping out routes for some other dudes, and failed the dodge that I inadvertently forced myself into. Could have been a tie, instead I have my first regular season loss since season 3! Congrats to Celer!

EDIT: That probably sounds sarcastic, but I actually meant it. Celer played very good defense in the first half, so I was going to have to play very well in the second half to even salvage a tie.

Here is my tooting-my-own horn moment for the season: this loss ended my career-best streak of non-losing multiplayer games at 23. I don't know what you call that, can't call it a winning streak because there were a bunch of ties. My last loss before that was to Strazos in the opening round of Horns & Hooves Season 1. (Finally I can play a crappy team in the feeder league without feeling bad about it.)

Interestingly with Comstar also tying his game and Sjofn winning hers the top of our division is now 11-11-11-10-10, with only Carnifex (one of the 11s) left to play. If Proudft can salvage a win somehow (unlikely with 2 TGs out for the game) any one of us could still be eliminated on the last day. My position may be the worst of all in that my final match is against Carnifex... and wouldn't THAT be a nasty surprise for whoever I would end up playing in the first round of the failoffs.  tongue

The Chemical Elvers pull out the upset over Beardstorm!   DRILLING AND MANLINESS  On one hand, a misclick should have given the Dwarves a tie on the final turn.  On the other hand, it required a BS dwarf pass to get even that close.

The Elvers won the toss and elected to kick off, keeping as many elves on the field for the usual Dwarven Drive of Death as possible.  The teams traded minor blows, with the elves remaining mostly upright and tagging the ball carrier, but never really getting a clean hit on him. Finally, it was time for Galvanize to earn his pay.  The +ST/+AG dynamo took a huge risk and dodged INTO a 3-person cage for a 1d Blitz that knocked the ball loose and into the hands of a nearby elf.  Not your usual elven BS, but that's exactly what to expect from the elves!  The ball was immediately knocked out and over to the sideline, and the dwarves covered with their rollah (who could have used... a hand /sunglasses).  This meant nothing to the elves, though, as they dodged right through the TZs, scooped up the ball, and scampered out of range and (eventually) down to the end zone for a 1-0 halftime lead.

A minor pitch invasion knocked over a couple of elven catchers but did no real damage other than slowing down the elf advance.  The block/tackle/guard advantage finally started paying off for the short rounds, and Badly Hurt elves started filling up the injury pit.  The match began to resemble the end of a FUTBAL match with the elf thrower playing keep away at his own goal line, running out the clock, with the dwarves needing GFIs just to mark him.  Finally the elf ranks were wearing thin and they were forced to pass it forward, but were unable to get adequate protection.  The dwarves knocked the ball out and out of bounds, and got a relatively favorable throw-in near some free dwarves.  Their stubby little hands botched the pickup though, and the elves got one more chance for some elf BS and they again scooped up the ball.  This time they couldn't scamper away, and the dwarves flattened him and this time managed to pick up the ball with the help of a reroll.  With the clock winding down, they pretty much had no choice but to try the fabled Dwarfic Pass.  And it worked!  All the dwarves had to do was rumble into the end zone for the equalizer!  The rest of the dwarf team ran wild at the spectacle... and one fell on his face, causing a turnover.  The Elver coach was so stunned, he felt very guilty as he boxed in the poor runner to snatch victory from the jaws of a tie.

What a game!  It was definitely a case of it being better to be lucky than good.  I made 32/37 Dodge rolls, even with Tackle abounding, and most of the misses were non-critical moves at the end of the game.  The cage-bust and the pickup along the sideline in the first quarter could have easily gone the other way.  The dwarves did enjoy a 63% success rate on blocks that netted 3 injuries and 4 KOs, but in the end the mis-click told the tale of the game.

These 1-0 games aren't helping the Elvers level much, but at least everyone will be healthy going into the season finale!

Well, the 29th itself won't work for me, but we should be able to play on either of the days after that without too much trouble, given that we're on the same time zone.

Llyse, this may be problematic. I got roped into cooking a seafood extravaganza on the day after Thanksgiving so I have to hit the stores early. Maybe, it's fluid but looking that way.

The only day I can say I will 100%, no doubt be free is Sunday but I think Saturday morning my time is good. Basically, page me on Steam any time you are free. Prod me. If I respond within ten minutes, I'm probably free. If not, I'm gone.

HHB 2-0 over the dandies.  in large part thanks to guard and remembering how carnifex smacked me around with Slibli, who i brought along to try and counterbalance bann's mega-ogre, with mixed results.  lots of boneheads on both sides and a handful of injuries; nothing permanent if i remember correctly.  my second touchdown was skink bullshit of the highest order, involving a bunch of dodges, a pickup in a tacklezone, a handoff and multiple GFIs, but otherwise the dice seemed pretty even handed.  bann can of course correct me if i'm wrong on that account  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

match is uploaded.
