Someone mentioned Cyanide working on a new version of Blood Bowl. Is it just a rumour?

Would not surprise me. We cant be the only people screaming at themthat the interface heeds a total overhaul. and that's probably a major job. If they left the rules as is and simply revamped the whole interface that would be worth the price of admission for Blood Bowl II

The interface clearly needs an overhaul.  They also have more teams that they could add.  Sadly, right now, I'm sure it wouldn't happen, but I'd sure love to see some Slann or Underworld teams running around.  We'll never see those until Games Workshop produces some actual miniature sets though.  It's a shame; Slann are sooooo weird.

Calvin and Hobbes are back to maul the fuck outta you.

Reply #72 on: November 26, 2011, 08:09:07 AM

Just played my game with the Modern Angel's super friendly albeit battered goblins.

Giving up 900tv or so meant I was going to be smashed around the park like a ragdoll fighting against 2 trolls, a ball and chain and of course morg n thorg.

MA also picked a chef and 3 bribes but no wizard. The chef once again proved useless and only stole 1 reroll for the whole match

Play starts with MA winning the toss and electing to receive to get MAXIMUM damage... Nuffle however has other ideas and gifts Alive not Dead a Blitz! event; a not so subtle hint to score as quick as possible and cycle those secret weapons asap! Atarin, Gui and Calvin swarm the ball only for it to scatter away after groping at it like a bear at a school.

The Gobbos scramble to grab it after Morg starts smashing rotting faces but Rubbra is not as quick as a Catholic priest and turnsover for the Necros to try to secure the ball. Gregor decides to show Morg that he's only a little smaller than the Ogre merc for hire but 2nd place isn't good enough and he's smashed to the floor even with a double team of linezombies. MA pushes Hobbes around but to no avail and soon enough The Mad Bomber from Oklahoma fumbles the bomb to Hobbes and turns over.

Finally Calvin picks up the ball and shows how it's done scoring on the third. MA burns to bribes and is ready to roll again now putting on Chainsaw Tommy who lives up to his name...

Tommy decides to go for it blitzing the Legendary Calvin and CUTS HIM DEAD. The thanksgiving crowd is speechless by the cloud of blood and fur, Heroes never die easy and Calvin bounds up off the sideline to live another day.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS The Mad Bomber has Tebow's skills and fumbles the throw again handing over possession.

Some more jostling on each side with Morg taking up Tommy's hatred of Canines stunning Hobbes until the 1st half ends at 1-0 to Alive not Dead but not without the Apothecary saving the Mad Bomber from Dominic's grope!

Alive not Dead are receiving and are on the ball following up the 1st half's blitz with a quick snap and decide to go with a shotgun offense sending receivers on both wings of the field while Atarin the makeshift QB hangs in a very loose pocket of flimsy ghouls and zombies. MA responds in kind with his own all in play of Morg N Thorg Blitzing the lonely Undead QB needing to GFIs... but fails the 2nd GFI and the loner reroll! awesome, for real

Atarin lucked out and spins by to barely make a quick pass to his partner Benson. Calvin continues to show his utility and gouges Dangus' eye while offensively blocking. It's about now when the Goblins start to fall into bad habits with goblins failing dodges and trolls being stupid. And it's up to Morg and Thorg to carry the stunties and backtracks to pressure the score.

It's now the 4th drive with plenty of time for either side to score. It's a deep kick from Vince though and it's another QB blitz attempt which is countered by Tickles McGoo going for the Throw teammate play! Sadly his throwing arm isn't great and poor Gary lands on his head and spills the ball.

Benson decides that he wants to try his hand at QB after scoring on a running play and burns a reroll on pickup only for Tickles to show him how it's done!

Tickles slowly blitzes the downfield before being swarmed by the entire cemetery resulting in Handy Hound Golem to show how you pick up a grubber. He hands off to Atarin who passes with his 2nd try and Calvin runs in the 3rd and final score.

The Goblin team's Trolls try to smash some zombies in frustation but forget what they're doing so the final play is Doobie applying as Tebow's replacement and deftly passes to Slim Jim to end the match:

3-0 to Alive not Dead.

Thanks again to MA for playing during the Turkey murder weekend.  Heart

Yeah, Chainsaw Tommy was almost a fucking legend. A legend, I tell you!

This game really turned at the end of the first half, when it was surprisingly close. Some flubbed rolls turned ruined a wide open score, as Llyse was way forward and a thrown goblin could have evened things up with little he could do. Alas, strike early and often didn't work out and injuries slowly took their toll.

Not very since we have 6 matches to play since people are food comatose after the American holiday.

I just did calculations as well, even if the Ex-presidents lose against Drogg, I'll still be 2nd due to Head to Head...

Sadface, first time I haven't topped the division in the regular season...  why so serious?

Sorry Avaia...holiday + holiday shopping + weekend overtime = little time to do anything else.  sad

That said, I'll be available all day tomorrow (Monday) at almost any hour, since it'll be a day off and the wife will be at work with the kid  awesome, for real

Avaia's Nurgle beat my Halflings 0-2.

Apparently my flings are so unlucky that 2AG Nurgle have learned how to pick-up, pass and catch the ball  Shaking fist

Nurgle narrowly escapes the flings with a 2-0 victory.  Pestigor makes his regen reroll to save himself from death.  Chef left me with 1 reroll in the first half, 0 in the second.  Despite this, a nurgle warrior picked up the ball, threw it to another warrior, who actually made the fucking catch on turn 15, walking in on turn 16.

Fortunately, the wizard was distracted for the match.

And victory to the undead 2-1.  The Rouge Rogues put up a good fight staving off a turn 16 touchdown but after a thorough boning (I've been waiting to use that one) from the dynamic mummy duo they just didn't have enough players on the field to stave off a win.

My bad, forgot to mention that I was leaving town for a week.

Anyway, got our game in, 2-1 to LLium Crusher, 5 elves on the pitch by the end of the game, yadda yadda. My young Catcher is now a Zombie. Some other MNG's and things to my elves, no damage to the undead. Good play by Cancklebiter.

Beetles lose 1-3 to Carnifex's Cripplers.  Because of massive injuries to the Beetles in their dwarfmaggedon I got the novel experience of being knocked around and forced to play khemri as an agility team.  So, we lost.   Ohhhhh, I see.

Nekhbrekherekerekhwhatever the star player decided to show up and he was the only thing keeping me in the game, and there was even a slim chance of a 2-2 tie, when he finally slipped and forgot about the krox's prehensile tail, getting himself tripped on a desperate charge for the ball on turn 13 or so.  A saucy skink then darted in and, with a sneer, handed off to a saurus who scored and secured victory for the lizards.

Yet another tackle skeleton died, I believe that is the third one to suffer that fate.

This win means I'll probably make the playoffs.  Of course I play Ingmar last, so I expect the half of my team that makes it to the playoffs to not be enough to go very far  awesome, for real
proudft really deserves some props for this game, he had some terrible rolls in the first 4-5 turns, but soldiered on and made it a much more competitive game than the score reflects.  Oh, and did I mention that the dice loved me this game?  Just about every bullshit move I tried absolutely worked.  No really, one of my skinks ko'd a tomb guardian.  Who landed on the ball.  Which was caught by a skink that hadn't moved yet.  Who scored.

The silver lining is, except for the dead skeleton, I don't think there were any miss next game injuries to the Beetles.  So, good news, Sjofn, we should be at pretty much full strength for our match.  Heart

So the battle of the wood elves concludes inconclusively, as Cloudpunks tie the Hazardous Hippies, 2-2.

This game really went back and forth, both in terms of luck and in terms of somewhat questionable plays on behalf of the coaches. Teleku started out the game by injurying 2 out of 3 of his first blocks, KOing the next, and then injurying his own Wardancer on a failed Leap, using up his Apothecary on the 2nd turn. Meanwhile I could not get an armour break to save my life in the first half -- like literally I think I managed one stun up until turn 7. Teleku scored easily on the opening drive and seemed in control, especially as my running-bashing game approach on my response drive produced (as mentioned) absolutely no casualties. This all changed, however, in the last few turns; I managed to Badly Hurt his star Wardancer (if you're only going to get one casualty, that's not so bad.) Then when he forced a turnover deep in his half on turn 7 and managed to cage up the ball -- my wizard could hardly resist this opportunity, even though I needed at least 3 knockdowns to even get a shot at the ball. I got the three knockdowns, including the ball carrier, AND broke the ribs of his other Wardancer; several dodges, a blitz, and a throw later I was going into the half even on numbers of players and TDs and with both the Hippy wardancers out for the game.

At which point I got pretty overconfident, lost my new Wardancer to an endless-KO, and left my other Wardancer exposed with the ball, allowing the Hippies to pass and sprint the ball downfield (despite my Pass Block catcher getting a clear shot at the interception: he rolled 1 -> 1) and eventually score after a brief GFI-hiccup.

Meanwhile I had managed to somehow get my tree Badly Hurt (on a failed block against his tree, naturally) and along with the KOed Wardancer went in to the last drive on turn 13 down 7 players to 9. At which point I foolishly failed to pick up the ball before trying to dodge my Catcher downfield, leaving it exposed after the dodge failed. Teleku got an elf on the ball and three quarters of a cage around him, but couldn't cover up the last hole because the ball was too far downfield -- I knocked the ball loose again, only to freeze on the pickup with time running out (I should have thrown or handed it off), leaving my own ball carrier exposed as well. At which point Nuffle came to the rescue, as the bounce once he was knocked-over fell into the hands of my Thrower, leaving a blitz-less Hippy team only able to mark him up as best they could. My luck continued as a both-down result on a Block which would have been catastrophic (I needed to both knock the player down AND move them out of the way) was rescued by only my second block-caused Casualty of the game. This cleared the way for my Thrower to dodge out and pass downfield, leaving a relatively trivial double-GFI from my linesman to tie the game on the final turn.

(Though not before Teleku rerolled his desperation 1d blitz from push to skull... which is unfortunate since even a push would have moved the player out of range of the endzone and forced additional shenanigans on my part.)

Anyways, another 20/20 rating game for the elves, so at least the crowd was pleased. BBManager reveals that overall both of our dice were actually fairly average, except that both teams rolled an impressive 25% Defender Downs on our blocks.

I have tried, and failed, getting the game going. Not every day, but now and then, no luck sadly.

I'm also swamped with work (14+ hour days) so there really hasn't been much time.

I'm fine with a tie, as I haven't really been doing everything I can to get the match started (much due to not really being motivated to sit infront of a computerscreen after work!).

Also won't have time at all this weekend, as I have a childhood-friend visiting, and watching me play Fantasy Rugby isn't really... what.. he... came here to do :P

Yeah, Ice summed it up well, our game was all over the place.  We would each get an amazing string of lucky dice rolls to pull off something big, only to follow it up later on by getting a spectacular string of failures.  Really can’t complain as the pain was spread around, which made it a fun and exciting match.  Ice played very well, and now I actually have some experience playing wood elves, heh.

But fucking Christ I think wizards are crushing my soul in this game.  To date, in any online play, I have never once knocked down anybody with a fireball.  No matter how large the group I fire the fucker into, nobody goes down.  But this is the THIRD game in a the last few weeks that I’ve had a ball carrier and/or friends blown apart by the wizard right as they were either going to score a game winning TD, or prevent an opposing TD that would cause me to win (the broken ribs roll on my god damn Wardancer this game just rubs it in).

Its just……...arg.

Ok so obviously I'm not able to get my game in (with Ginaz?) so give my opponent the points. However, my stuff should be getting here any day now, and my internet is getting installed next week, so there's actually a chance I'll be able to attempt my next game...with my new Africa/Paris timezone and blazing fast ~800k DSL.
