Yeah, I'm ok with it ;  I get enough 'stuff' from the Danger Room runs.  But I just thought I'd give it a try.  It was fascinating to me the way the game said 'No, you're Shite.'

How many Omegas are you up to? I think SW and cap were the first heroes I managed to get through it, at about 1500. With witch the key was survival, Iron Man team up helped a fair amount. With Cap it was dps.

If you where in no danger of dying but way behind on dps you simply might be way over geared for defense.  Even on my best geared characters most of the attacks are between "nearly one shot" and "severely painful", with a few telegraphed attacks being straight up one shots, but i usually have 2-3 minutes left on the timer at each boss.  Having pirate deadpool helps, he can taunt and cc, both of which make a difference in your survivability.

I can't decide between Doom and Iceman.

Thoughts ?

Doom.

I don't like Iceman because his voice and personality grate on me. Doom is campy fun and over-serious which amuses the hell out of me.

I just re-geared my Iceman, and he really does not feel as powerful as Doom. Still at the top of the summoner list though.

How do you get runes?

I've got 10 characters to 60 now and fancy gearing one up a bit post-60, possibly Scarlet Waifu or Silver Surfer since I enjoyed leveling them a lot. But I can't make any useful runewords. Is it just a case of hoping for them to drop?

Yeah, rune are random drops. Doop runes are dropped during the Cosmic Chaos event and purchased with cosmic worldstones. Otherwise they tend to trade for 2-3 hela blessings. Tyr runes are usually about 1gok (3blessings). Loki runes are cheap and you can probably get 4-5 per blessing at this point (I haven't looked in a while). Then there is the Zod rune which is about 18-20+ gok value.

That said, feel free to send me a message and I can likely spare just about any rune (save for doop/tyr/zod/odin/thor)

PSA: Today (Christmas) has holiday Groot teamup. If you have the Groot team up from last year then it's a free ult upgrade token after trade-in at the vendor.

Purely from a power and ease of play standpoint, never use a teamup in away mode, and never spend points on away mode skills.

At least not until you are at a level to start fucked-up theory crafting for 2% advantage under a full moon with a specific character and opponent in mind.

It doesn't matter much which team up you use for the purpose of levelling, go with whoever you have and looks cool.

Just revisiting this post since it is pretty well timed. Howard the Duck seems to be the first to be best used as an away teamup. He has an ability which grants the hero damage, crit dmg, and brut dmg with about a 33% up time, and his powers are actually pretty beefy.

That said, I still don't think he's worth using, and especially if still leveling then you're better off with a level 60 companion mode team up.

That's very kind of you, but it is indeed a Tyr rune I'm after for Bowazon smiley  I'll just keep playing and hope!

Gem of Kurse. Boss specific artifact that drops from Kurse very rarely. You can increase chances of dropping by increasing your Rare Item Find, though running the terminal over and over will still happen so don't gimp yourself just to do it.

Still, generally a better chance at farming that than the runes. They evidently are so damn rare that after a year and a half I think I've found only two. Could be I don't play enough on Tuesdays but I've got three Lokis in the bank and zero Odin/ Thor/ Zod. Doops you can at least buy using cosmic shards and that blessing is far more useful.

Sad to say but you average about 1 tyr rune per 1000 hours of play, i think at 1 gok they are super cheap.  They have a higher chance of dropping on tuesday... or is it thursday? which ever is supposed to be tyr's day.

Blimey. OK, well I'll file that under "Do not worry about for now" then smiley

I got Doctor Doom in the ½ price sale too, so I'll level him soon. I also accidentally bought a prestige thingy when I meant to get a fortune card, so someone's getting leveled for a 2nd time soon.

Power doop, doop inspiration and the loki blessing which name escapes me at the moment are usually bis or at least close enough that you shouldn't need a bowazon.  The first two require cosmic event currency though, and the third is fairly cheap.

I'm now waking up to find out my drunk ass was making helpful posts after I got home this xmas eve awesome, for real

For SS and runewords - Yeah, Power Doop is just a good go-to runeword. If you're broke then I'd suggest something like Fire Barrage or even Viking's Vitality to hold you over for now. Basically, for SS, Power Doop for movement and movement/emf hybrid. Bowazon EMF builds if you need the crit and damage, if your crit is good then TPD. Doop Inspiration is also good if you don't have a Tyr rune and need crit. God of Mischief if you have poorly rolled uniques and need the +1 to all skills.

And another PSA: Glinting Einherjar Brooch will have its proc fixed, meaning for pure melee heroes it will likely be a new bis item that you can just buy from a vendor. Brooch item page. It's pretty beastly. 505 melee dmg and a proc of 421 damage and 468 crit rating. The proc amounts for dmg/crit don't change either, so it's pretty much just getting a high damage roll with a high proc chance, making it easy to roll. It's as good for melee heroes as SWGN is for physical heroes. Brooch has more damage but it doesn't gain the defense roll.

Honestly I don't know what I need. My SW does at least have a full set of her slot 1-5 uniques, but they're probably terribly rolled.

Doop runewords cost cosmic worldstones yeah? Which I get in cosmic events? How often are those held?

I managed a few easy danger rooms on her earlier, which was pleasing. She's a bit squishy atm and having spirit issues, so I might swap the Gungnir for the M'Kraan crystal I was using to level her until she's got more omegas etc.

It's very usable, it's just behind Doop and Bowazon for EMF if you don't need the +1.

SW's uniques are good enough for any  content. Min/maxing will depend on which build you're using. And yes, doop runeswords cost doop runes which are purchasable with cosmic worldstones. The event is usually once every 5weeks. Or, if you find a doop rune you can use that, or trade for one (usually around 2-3b value).

With the holidays I've picked this up again.  Been running around on Rogue, finishing leveling her and getting the last of her powers.  (I enjoy the scavenger hunt, and she's built for fun, not necessarily effectiveness, though she's plenty tough.)

As part of the hunt, I found a Legendary Scroll.  I mis-read it and thought it said you get ONE of the things below.  What it actually said was you get ALL the things.  And there are only 1963 in the game, total.  Merry X-Mans to me!  The hero was Magick, whom I wanted but hadn't bought yet, too.  The legendary is the Ultimate Nullifier.

Now to figure out whom will benefit the most from a +10000 brutal rating.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

Hilariously rogue.  She has three different brutal rating passives you can grab, if you can manage to stack enough crit from somewhere else (artis and omegas i guess) that would be a whole lot of bruting.  Probably not the most effective thing ever but it should be fun.

My silly Red Skull terminal is bugged, a green Hydra dude that's supposed to turn aggressive so you can punch him in the face isn't, so I can't progress the terminal now and I can't remember how to reset it either. Oh well :(

On the plus side I managed to accidentally get the under 60 seconds cosmic doom achievement while rushing down terminals to knock off bosses form the list.

I pulled Dr. Strange out of the backset for the first time in forever. With the changes to the survivability of Heroes he's wiping the floor with everything.

I still hate the need to include a rotation of hotbars, but I hadn't realized just how powerful he is since I stopped playing him as I got more heroes. Easily on par with Witch even in my crappy suboptimal gear with only 2456 omegas.

Mega pack 4 now on sale at $170, I suspect it will drop to $140 before long.

All the heroes, stashes and a metric butt-tonne of boosts. Everything you ever need to spend ever.

https://marvelheroes.com/news/news-articles/introducing-mega-pack-mk-iv

Mega pack 3 is the only money I spent on this game, and been very happy with it.

You get an ultimate upgrade and default costume if you already have a hero, if they added something to compensate where you already have the stash I'd seriously consider it again.

Kind of annoyed they aren't doing another "Buy next years heroes all at once." I guess it was something of a money loss and something of an extra development burden in that they committed to X heroes in a year or more than a year as is the current case. I just liked the give us money once and forget about it for a year aspect of the deal.

Have they announced they aren't doing one?

I assumed they hadn't launched anything because they still owe last year's pack people a Black Cat?

Yeah that was my assumption as well. They didn't do the bundle until the 2015 rebranding last year, which was in late Jan/ Feb if I remember rightly. The y have t announced the2016 rebranding yet have they?
