You should make teams, join this league, and bug people on steam for matches, because it is an awesome thing to do and undeniably good for the soul. Never stop making and playing feeder league blood bowl teams.
As for the main league you can join with a fresh team or one that has played here. But your team will be stronger and you'll be a better player for having run out a few matches in the feeder league, which will likely make it more fun for everyone.

I'm not back to work until 14 Jan. so I'll have lots of time to play. I am, however, at my parents for a few more days for Christmas and have been using their sub par laptop and crappy internet to play. I'll probably wait until I'm home this weekend to play online.

Register about 5 teams so you don't gave to wait for button pushers when want a change.
Make sure you individually name the players in each team in line with some "humorous" theme. This is important.

guess i better switch to a more durable type if i wanna get somewhere.
2 quick KOs and it's pretty much gimp start.
Tried a pass, fucked up the catch.
O well.
One niggling linesman. Not sure what to do from this point. 60k to replace the guy or just move on and save up for better players.

Unless you have 4 catchers and 2 Blitzers already, don't bother replacing lineman. Just fire him since niggling is worse than loner rerolls |

whoa i keep forgetting about horns 4STR blitzs i recall losing the first game like that before. .oh well, still no luck with elves i guess. it seems like DE is the superior elves with better overall starting skills and positionals.

Megrim knows better than me but I think with High Elves you want to bust a hole in the line then just rush receivers into my back field. High elves are definitely geared more toward passing. Dark elves are definitely geared more toward rushing. Being elves though they are capable of any kind of occasional bullshit.
If you're a coach who feels more comfortable bashing, dark elves will be pretty natural for you. Their strength is their blitzers, but the side still suffers from a lack of STR for reliable blocking until you get some guard or a lot of luck on level-ups.

Yeah I get it. The 4 Catchers roster limit was there for a reason, but funds are tight, and I really felt the low rerolls made a lot of risky play not worth it to execute.
Even the thrower wasn't really getting much of a bonus when executing a pass. Safe pass is more of a 'if you fail, you can try again next turn' - not a 'You can try again to succeed'

High elves are a nice versatile side with a lot of room for useful development, but they do look a little iffy next to Dark Elves. This is probably because DEs are arguably the strongest team in the game, more than anything especially wrong with HEs. I think pro elves and woodies have the better starting offenses, pretty clearly, but AV 8 on all the linemen will make a big difference in your ability to keep a similar number of guys on the field to your opponent.
