Well, Modern Angel and I just had the biggest nufflefuck of a match ever.  We both should have easily scored and didn't.  Though after being denied what should have been an easy touchdown, I got one shortly after because of more screwball rolling.  And then there was even more bullshit rolls right to the last play.

Though I finally won a game!  2-1.

And Nuffle hates Wood Elven catchers.  DEEPLY.

Heres the replay:  http://dl.dropbox.com/u/41488/files/Replay_2010-12-09_18-10-37.db

Is there any way to speed up replays so they're not in real time? Half of my replays consist of nothing happening for a minute and then a flurry of activity in the last 30 seconds of each turn. Makes watching them kind of hard.

Yes, the critical keys for Blood Bowl are

+/-   =  speed up and down replays
SHIFT + G  =  shows the grid
SHIFT + N  =  shows names and/or positions

I am gonna validate Modern Angel vs. Teleku match later today. Thanks for playing and for the prompt replay!

Under the "Matchs" tab, select our League from the drop down menu, highlight the selected match and then click on the "Replay" button in the upper menu bar, between "Details & Stats" and "Export".

Eldaec and I just played our game and once more I ended up on the wrong side of the dice. The first half was fairly solidly contested - a big brawl around the ball that had a few points where either of us could have broken out and scored. The Norse took control and formed their cage then went about breaking Dark Elves before scoring just before the whistle. They did this so well that at the end of the first half, I only had four players on the pitch. When the second half started I failed every single KO roll meaning that I only started with the four players who'd stayed conscious through the first half. I couldn't really contest the ball very well outnumbered 11-4 and Eldaec took full advantage in throwing my players around. He scored again when there were no Dark Elves left on their feet and again I failed every single KO roll. Once more I got mauled by an entirely undamaged Norse team and my one chance to break out and score a consolation TD ended up with my Witch elf getting piled on by half the Norse team. For the final drive I made all of two KO rolls so I actually managed to have 6 players on the pitch. This still didn't help and the final score was 3-0.

I didn't manage to even score a single KO against the Norse let alone any casualties.

IainC bad luck is beyond ridiculous. I mean, on top of everything else, fumbled pass on turn 1, with an AGI 4 player and a reroll? Double 1, babe. That's how much Nuffle really hates this man. Did you poop on his birthday cake?

P.S: Trying to have your Assassin dodge into a -5 tackle zone, and spending a reroll on it, probably not the best idea. But the fact that he dies trying goes straight back to the previous paragraph.

I didn't realise it was a -5 tackle zone, I thought it only counted the TZs from the square you were dodging out of (so -2). As I was chatting to Eldaec at the time I didn't have the rolls tab open and I couldn't check it before deciding whether to use the reroll or not. As I thought it was a 4+ and I needed to try and stab up the ball carrier I figured it was a reasonable chance.

I don't think there's been a single game this league where I've had even average dice. This game and the one vs Comstar were particularly bad and all of my opponents have had average or better rolls when it counted.

Afaik, when dodging all that matters about the square you are in is that it has at least one tackle zone - so you need to dodge. The modifier comes only from tackle zones on the square you are dodging into.

Just finished a knock-down, drag-out match with Falconeers amazons. I received first half, punched the girls a bit, and am running for the endzone at the half...and one of my expert runners falls down and breaks his armor in the endzone.  ACK! That pretty much ended the half.

Second half, I kickoff, and blitz him hard. He cages up, and I manage to stall him a bit. Out of desperation, I run someone into the cage and manage to knock the ball loose. After some more bloody business, I manage to get the ball. This time I run it in without falling down and hurting myself.

1 - 0 win, it was kind of a nail-biter.

Exciting stuff!!!

So These results means our great League Commissioner Falconeer is out of the play offs  ACK!

So it's now up to

Megrim to beat Proudft with the faulty High Elf Armour to make it into the playoffs. (Booo)  why so serious?

OR

Avaia to pray Megrim loses or draws to make 2nd  awesome, for real

OR

Proudft to win by 6-0 to beat Avaia on TD difference  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

EXCITING STUFF!  Heart

Totally  why so serious?

Actually, since dropbox is blacklisted I can't see the current standings so my calculations aren't accurate...

But I think it's either Avaia or Falcon who are 2nd from Group B since Bloodbowl didn't include Falcon's bye game from Day 1 (from memory)

Today is Trucknutz day as the blitzer went berserk against the Spleen Flay Hackers, scoring three touchdowns in a 4-0 romp by the orc team. It was weird seeing an across the board agility 4 team unable to dodge or pick up the ball while the black orcs had little trouble...

I cemented my position as dead last in the league with a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Modern Angel. I started off trying to soften him up a bit and quickly realised that there was going to be nothing soft at all about a line of Black Orcs. After that I tried to play a more fluid game, running around him and trying to move the ball around a bit. That kind of play only works however if you can trust your guys not to fail when picking up the ball and not to trip over their feet when dodging out of tackle zones. MA made sure that I had to roll a lot to do anything and, as expected I failed plenty of rolls at critical moments.

I'm playing in a couple of other leagues on another forum and I'm doing alright there against similarly skilled opponents as here. I really don't understand why I've done so badly in this league when it appears that I can play this game reasonably well at other times.
