Megrim's Morsel vs. Falconeer's Feminists     2 - 2

This is my 4th tie in a row. I am sad!

It has been a crazy game. Now we all know that with Blood Bowl they they are pretty much all crazy games, but there have been SO many 3+ to score, and fail, that I can safely say it's one of the most heartpounding game I've ever played. Ultimately, I think I was totally deserving a tie, but when I failed another go for it for TD in turn 15, after failing an easy catch for TD in turn 14 (note, same thing happened in turn 8 of first half, and Megrim managed to score in one turn on the rebound, picking up the ball on my failed 3+ dodge roll (with dodge!) 2 squares away from his endzone and returning it all the way down, for the 2-1 lead), I thought it was lost for good. Nuffle decided the game deserved a real 20/20 fun factor, so he managed to have his vampire fail the bloodlust roll (2+) on turn 16, drop the ball he was moving away from end zone just one square short of it, and leave my frustrated blitzer a final chance to score, and this time, after a succesfull pickup, she did.

'Unbelievable' is the word I kept mumbling during the last 9 turns, but if you want to really see what I am talking about you should probably get the replay. After all, it's a 20/20 fun rating game :D

The sad thing is, still unbeaten, with 4 ties and only 1 win I could be out of the playoffs no matter what I do in the last game.

Fake edit: Haha, awesome screenshot Megrim. And I'd like not to forget that point when I failed the gfi and you just typed "epic" right away. I appreciated it  awesome, for real

Pointy Hat Squad got a beatdown from Necco Waivers, losing 3-0.  An investigation is going to be launched into the manufacturer of our Elite High Elven Armour (tm), as it is clearly suffering from flaws in production.  Six elves over the course of the game were injured, two of whom will be suffering for some time, and one was only saved from death by the quick application of apothecary science.

I had some interface fail in the second half, giving the ball to the wrong player on an out-of-bounds kickoff, and messing up a blitz to hit a runaway werewolf, but after the brutal first half it wasn't going to make much difference.  Curse you, avaia, curse youuuuuuu!

Necco 3, pointy hat squad 0.  Luck was with me all game on the dice, and PHS felt the wrath of my public FACE by Megrim in week 1.  Wish I had played my team before that first match.  Heartbreak

The Necco reign of terror is over in Division 2, hopefully I can sneak in the playoffs after the last couple of weeks.

That's what I said.   Ohhhhh, I see.

Sad thing is that I was afraid of using the apothecary to stop the badly injured roll on my war dancer, because I'm just afraid I'll have yet another person DIE on me later.

Shouldn't the resting team in group 1 be the F13 Catfighters rather than Llyse who is apparently playing Ezrast on the same day that he is resting?

Group A so far witnessed the dominance of Llyse and Comstar, both unbeatable and both comfortably in the lead. The final match should decide who will pass first and who will be second. And eventually, will be useful to cripple opponents in anticipation of the finals.

The real interesting thing is in Group B, where 2 of the 3 scheduled matches have been played already. With only Strazos vs. Ruvaldt still to go, and not counting Xuri that is already out of the playoff ballot, this is the situation with ONE MATCH TO GO (2 for Strazos and Ruvaldt):

Points    Match played (of 6)    TD diff.

1)  Avaia                 9             6*                          +3
2)  Strazos              7             4                           +3
3)  Falconeer           7             5                           +1
4)  Megrim              7             5                            -1
5)  Pointy Hat          6             5                            -2
6)  Ruvaldt              5             4                           +1

* out of games.

Making caluclations will only give you a headache. One thing is for sure. Falconeer and Strazos will play on Game Day #7 and whoever will win that match will automatically gain a spot in the playoff. This is, unless Megrim wins vs. Proudft with a 3 TD difference. At the same time, Avaia, who ran out of games, could still manage to qualify in case of massive ties, and the same thing is true for Proudft, who could win his last match, eliminating Megrim, and hoping in Strazos eliminating Falconeer. Megrim isn't doing so well as he has a bad TD diff, but with a win over Proudft and hoping Strazos will beat Falconeer, he could get to the second place. Finally Ruvaldt, with two more games to play, has lots of chances given he can win them both (or at least 1 win and a tie). I have a headache, guys. If someone wants to make a better report, please feel free...

Alive not Dead outplayed, outbashed, and outran my 6 Pools for a 3-1 victory. This puts me out of the running and guarantees Llyse and Comstar as group A's semi-finalists, although their last game against each other will determine who comes out on top of pool A.

Considering my noobness and terrible starting lineup (6 rerolls is a bit excessive), I didn't do half bad with my 'zons, but after the season I don't think I'll play them again for a while. Against squishy teams they feel like orcs, but against bashy teams they feel like elves, and I just have no idea how to handle it. I should probably play some elves, actually, to get a feel for the passing game - I focus on cage play almost exclusively and I think that hurt me a lot.

Anyway, good job to Llyse and Comstar; I'm eager to see how they hold up against the best of what group B has to offer... whomever that turns out to be.

Well played game ezrast Especially after my Blood bowl crashed at kick off and happily replaying the match.

I'm actually tempted in throwing my match comstar to avoid the possibility of playing Megrim's vampires.

Strazos won with Ruvaldt.

This means he's 99% winner of Group B

Second spot will be between me and Megrim, if we can manage to win our final match (me with Strazos, Megrim with Proudft).
Magrim has a worse TD than me, so he has to win and hope I don't.

If we both lose, or get a tie, Avaia is second.

Updated situation for Group B

Points    Match played (of 6)    TD diff.

1)  Strazos              10            5                           +5
2)  Avaia                 9             6*                          +3
3)  Falconeer           7             5                           +1
4)  Megrim              7             5                            -1
5)  Pointy Hat          6             5                            -2

Very exciting game against Strazos.  Pretty pleased with the game I played besides one or two choices that may or may not have made any difference.  He won 2 - 0, but I think it was closer than that, honestly.  Congratulations, Strazos, hopefully I made it competitive at least.

Yea, it's going to be very close going into the finals. The fact that I need to win by 3, AND the fact that Proudft is going to get inducements against me... yeesh. But then. Falconeer's last match is against the top Norse, and in that matchup I think my money would be on the Norsemen. And I think Strazos is getting inducements against the Amazon.

And

Strazos beats Falcon

Proudft will make it into the playoffs beating Avaia on TD difference of +4

Eh, it's not unheard of to run in five plus touchdowns in a game for an Elf team. It'd be easier if you were playing WE, but HE catchers are fairly horseshit as well. Scoring a TD every second turn can be done with some luck on the kick-off events and decent dice.

This is so exciting. Group B is lots of fun and I keep catching myself thinking about my last game and how to win it. Call me a nerd, but I think I'm gonna watch some of Strazos' replays before we play. I don't really care about winning the tournament, I just like the idea of having my team surviving, growing and bashing. It will be pretty hard to make a new one for Season 3, no matter what.

The League has 34 flawlessly played games and is only two games away from last day of regular season. Then 3 matches for the playoffs and we'll wrap it up for a total of 45 matches. It ran incredibly smooth and we'll be almost certainly able to have a winner before Christmas, giving everyone enough time to prepare for Season 3 and eventually get a copy of the game under the tree for those who couldn't make it in Season 2.

So yeah, thanks everyone for making one of my childhood dreams true (a REAL Blood Bowl League!), and spread the rumor so we can get even more people for Season 3. And yes, every lurker is invited.

Just so the rest of you can be thinking about scheduling your last main season match, Iain and I probably won't be playing till Sunday morning, which will be a season finale for my little Norse dudes.  cry

Given Iain has purchased a second assassin just for the occaision of playing my pasty AV7 ass, we'll have to see just have much of a team I have left after that anyway....

I actually intend on watching all of the post-season games, and I am hoping to see them unspoilered.  Preferably I can avoid all of the "Hey, I just won 2-0" posts once things get underway, and I can watch the games as a surprised spectator.

I'm in for season 3.  This was some of the most enjoyable Blood Bowl ever for me.  If anyone is on the fence about playing, you shouldn't be; league play is the only way to play Blood Bowl, everyone here is competitive but courteous, and the computer does all of the annoying stuff for you regardless of your understanding of the tabletop rules.

League definitely is it.

Matchmaking is like fast food quick but ultimately unfulfilling.

It's ridiculously oriented towards TV management like WoW Arenas

I'm (almost) always available for some casual matches in order for someone to get a feel of the a particular race in preparation of the next season  awesome, for real

Playing against the computer is just stress relief in beating up a kid for lunch money.

hmmm time to watch Comstar/Falconeers/Straz's previous matches to study...  why so serious?

Oh my dear lord the game I just had with Teleku. No exaggeration, maybe the worst half of BB I've played in recent memory in the second half. He won 2-1. Game started off with a bang, with the Hippies' animal Wardancer killing my brand new blitzer, Bob Jigglypuff, on the first turn of his first game ever. I hung in and smacked him around good the rest of the half with things going according to my orcy plan. 1-0 at the half.

After that, all hell breaks loose. I make stupid, careless decisions. But mainly the dice turn against me in terrible fashion. Even though I have 11 to his 6 or 7 consistently I can't pick up the ball or make a go for it roll or not get both down results to save my life. The worst is that I have a chance at the end for a tie and I reluctantly go for it, just because I need the space to get away from the dodgy elves... only to (of course) fail it.
