Binge-watched this season so far over the last 3 days. Ava has been a bit annoying, but I can tell I'm thoroughly hooked because I got to the end of last night's and was mad because I couldn't watch another til next week.

I've had exactly the opposite reaction to Ava this season, though it could be that anything is better than the shitshow that was her whole story line last season.

Everyone this season is doing great work, particularly their "extras". Choochoo, Constable Bob, Duffy's assistant guy, Errol, all of them have had great stuff so far.

Raylan quoting Elmore Leonard was awesome.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

Man. I love this show. And I love the parallels between Raylans and Boyds relationships.

They're mirror images of each other. Raylan being the guy that looked around and decided to extract himself, Boyd being the one to make the best of what's around. Neither is as smart as they think they are but both are survivors.

I don't think Raylan thinks he's smart. I do think he thinks he's the fastest gunslinger in Kentucky. That might end up being fatal by the final episode, we'll see.

I just can't wait 'til hipster gunslinger gets shot in the face.

That said, did you notice the guy in the diner was the leader of the FYC from Walking Dead?

I have a suspicion that they're building Boon up to be Jack McCall here.

Funny thing is I am pretty sure he is not going to get shot in the face. He is going to go up to hang out with his "girlfriend" and realize far to late she is is way more dangerous than she looks.

I didn't say who would shoot him in the face. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Loretta.

Really strong episode, though I'm not sure if I like the whole "I'M GOING ROGUE!" thing. Sort of fits, but reminds me too much of 24.

The ridiculously cartoony henchman is the only complaint i have about this season so far.  Guy just takes me out of the show every time he is on.

He's ridiculously cartoony because big bad is scraping the bottom of the barrel. His PMCs are all dead, so now he had to go local and this was his best shot. Literally as well
As figuratively.

I got a bottle of Pappy to celebrate the last episode.

I'd also say he is ridiculously cartoony because the character himself is attempting to live up to various stereotypes of movie cowboys, hence the John Wayne talk he and Raylen had.

Boon is from Colorado actually, not a local.  I think he is a cartoony henchman because Leonard stuff is all about cartoony bad guys.  He's also hamming it up as part of his own shtick.

You're right, Boone is from Colorado. Still, most of the people I know from Colorado are pretty much cartoons.

I love the Boon character. He's like a modern day Billy the kid, just a slight bit less icky than the real one.
