It's just a "from experience" thing. Not that it matters since I've gotten the Madjack and The Dove.

The Mad Jack has a very satisfying glow about it. Furiously and I were tearing through his zone on our way to some other quest point when we ran him over. When he exploded like a loot pinata, Fur was like 'Oh yeah, we have a quest for that guy'. Good times.

Didn't even remember picking it up until the game ended and I went to go sell off some guns.

I don't think I ever got the Madjack or Dove.  Once I saw the end of the game coming and I was plus  level on most quests... I just sprinted toward the finish.

A perlescent I found from the vendor.  Although the outright damage is not as nice as Rasix', the shock damage makes up for a lot.

I need to get a shot of my two revolvers.  A six-shot acid revolver with a nice enough scope to be absolutely punishing, and the orange ammo regenerating revolver I use to keep it stocked.  My SMG of death, too.  That's for tomorrow.

Forget that, the 4.1x weapon zoom makes up for it. That's great.

I never really liked or understood shock damage. Good against lobsters and guardians, but shitty for most else, from what I could see. Most "threats" in the game are humans and die by fire.

My Siren's main equipment for the moment.  I have that repeater pistol above in my inventory, but don't tend to use it.

The SMG is a x4 shot.  It can empty a clip in three seconds.  Usually it makes stuff dead in one.  (A King or Queen Spiderant from behind for example.)  With my daze ability I can keep a large group of creatures locked down at range with a few short bursts.  The caustic revolver is my main weapon.  It'll kill any big and heavily armored creature in just a few shots, and corrosion will finish off anything which doesn't die immediately.  It's scope is powerful enough I use it as a sniper weapon.

The Bloody Equalizer is my first gold quality weapon.  It makes sure my other revolver is never out of ammo and is great at close range while regenning.  It fires fast and reloads faster, so the two shot clip is irrelavent.  Vu has an identical gun except it does over 300 damage.  The purple pistol next to it is a x7.  Very few things survive it at close range.

My class mod.  Resilience is the only ability I don't have a point in yet, but I will.  My main shield is 272.  With the mod and my skills it is around 480.

I finally got a replacement for the MG I've been using for over ten levels:

Almost the exact same gun, but higher level and purple.

For Bone Head's weapon drop, the Bone Shredder, what effects did everyone get? Mine shows a zoom and x2 lightning damage. I'm looking on a wiki page and it's showing nothing about the elemental damage. I thought this gun (being from a boss) would be universally the same?

After I killed him, I was wandering around in the following sesson and went back into his area in the following session  and he was back in there. Dropped a second Bone Shredder. One was substantially better than the other one, but since I didn't have it equipped, I'm not sure if the first or second one was the better one.

Yeah, Defender is pretty awesome.  I finished my first playthrough with ~1.1k shields.

It was trivial enough that I think if I picked up Resilience (mainly for the -Shock damage) and Silent Resolve (for the oops, I Phasewalked next to a barrel) I'd be untouchable.

Not really watching this thread much to keep myself from being spoilered, but I found a shotgun early in the game that fires a rocket as well.  It's awesome... if only I could upgrade it.

I've found 6 gold+ quality weapons in my first playthrough. All were revolvers, 4 were pestilent defilers, 2 were the regen ammo type. Bleh.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I need to play some multiplayer with you guys. I ran with a higher level friend of mine last night and it was a LOT tougher, particularly since I was 4 levels under my friend. I needed so many revives. Oy.

I did however get a bunch of really nice guns that let me one-shot pretty much everything when I went back to playing solo.

While I did have the one quest-drop class mod, it was pretty gimpy (+1 ammo regen was nice, though). I had one leadership mod that was +20% exp and a couple gimpy stats. Then I got to the headlands and got this one:

Which I thought was nice until I got this one:

For reference, Impact is +damage and Metal Storm is a temp buff +fire rate and recoil reduc after killing an enemy. So I'm already +15% dmg and +30% fire rate and 75% recoil reduc before equipping this mod. (At level 22)

Just beat the game carrying

(and a few shots from one of my Eridian things and a sniper rifle, but that Cobra was doing 90% of my damage). I can't imagine what it would be like in the hands of an actual level 11 character. Will definitely keep this around for trivializing the early game.

Yeah I'm approaching the end of playthrough 2 and am still using this:

Tried plenty of other SMGs since picking that up and none of them have let me put as much damage on target as that one does! With soldier skill and class mod I have 101 rounds in a clip, 70% recoil reduction and almost instant reloading... it's just critical hit spam  awesome, for real

My standard, every day weapon:

And my new toy:

Right after I got that another sniper dropped with 374 damage, but it couldn't stack up clip, recoil or firing rate wise.  Plus, the electricity?  Yeah, it fries the skin off people leaving only polished bone behind.

I also have an x4 SMG that even though it's only a lvl 12 weapon 25 damage weapon does so much damage at short range (~30% accuracy) with an 89 shot clip that I use it for killing boss mobs.  It's like a chainsaw.

I got a green eridian I already sold. It was a cool weapon, but the clip takes sooo long to recharge. Have to get some pics up tonight, I blew through the headlands pretty quick and got a bunch of levels and lewtz.

I have a very interesting Eridian weapon.  It fires like an SMG, has a large clip and decent recharge, however the shots are very slow.  They home towards the nearest target, which can be used to fire around large obstacles.  It takes some practice to make it effecting and is useless on fast enemies if they don't charge.  Very interesting though.

Another one I found is a four shot sniper with a fast recharge.  I can't seem to get a critical with it, but it's a level 19 weapon that does 3-500 damage when it hits.

This is what PEW PEW PEW means.

As for your second bit, Eridian weapons damage is rarely lessened or dulled by a small level difference or a shield. They're decent weapons, but I almost always have something more effective on me.

Edit: I should mention I always get them like 10 levels below what I currently have. At those levels, best in the game, bar none, great for twinking, no question.

That's my new toy, a higher level version of the one posted above. The fun part is that as you're shooting stuff, random electrical explosions are appearing around you. It's super obnoxious in multiplayer, I love it.

This one is kind of weird - it shoots two bullets at a time, to the left and right of the crosshair, and it shoots twice every time you pull the trigger. I'm keeping it around for when I eventually try out a full pistol build.

I love this gun. Sir Mixalot reference, and it hits like a truck.

I use this when I go on New Haven/Luckys chest runs.

This is the one that makes it happen, though. I don't need to worry about anything other than running around and shooting.

That gun I posted inexplicably increased its requirement by five levels. No other stats changed. I find this... bothersome.

edit: looks like level requirements display as lower than they actually are when the weapon is equipped. So it's level 16, not level 11.

I did get weewee's shield, and that's ok for now, though I end up without shields real quick since I just tear into things with my big MG clips and RoF buffs. Toying with dropping my transfusion grenades for the atlas rain grenade which does a nice area effect.

I've found that using grenades with a different elemental effect than the one on my turret works well. Jump round a corner, plop a corrosive-modded turret down, chuck in a fire or electrical grenade and then aim at the rapidly dissolving & burning badguys  awesome, for real

Had an odd one yesterday too. Got The Roaster (rocket launcher from one of the Kobbs) in playthrough2 and it was awesome - each trigger pull fired a 5-round burst of nuclear fire rockets and with my skills and class mod I had a 13 round mag... it was amazing! Turned off the console to eat or something, came back, fired it up and the Roaster had changed to a normal helix-type shooting, still with the fire but nowhere near as cool as before. Very annoying.

You should have gotten an artifact by level 15 if you did the first crystal gathering quest from the Firestone Bounty board. It'll be in your inventory until you use it, then it'll show up on talent tree panel (upper left).

Wow, do the quests! I'm level 24 and (iirc) I have a lvl2 exploding, lvl 1 fire, lvl 2 shock, and some new lvl 2 I just got last night I can't remember. Once you equip them, they show up in the diamond by the Turret skill on your skill page. Click it to select between the different mods you have for the turret. Do want a corrosive mod!
