The funniest part of that episode was the guy doing the background music.

Glad others are still watching this too. I though the whole idea of episode two was awesome, how many years has south park been out and they are trying to tie all the kenny stuff together? oh sure they obviously weren't thinking of some underlying reason all those years ago but it's actually kinda cool what they are doing with it.

I thought the best part of Part II was when they made fun of LeBron.  The rest didn't do much for me.

I enjoyed it but this was nothing like 90% of their episodes. I think I was more swamp poop for a good bit of it.

The dawning realisation of the Totoro spoof had me in stitches. Cartman as Mei is definitely my favourite moment since the series started up again. Really liking this multiparter overall.

Crack baby basketball was outstanding.  The tie-in to college athlete exploitation was awesome.

I'm wondering after this last episode if the end of South Park is near.  I think it could still push out a few more seasons, but with some of the dialogue between Stan's parents, it could be wrapping up soon.

They just signed a new contract to keep going until 2013.  That would put them near 20 years, long run for any tv show.

I think they have just been overusing Randy and Sharon, and it's showing.

If Randy is actually leaving, that should help somewhat.

Too bad if so, Randy is my favourite character.

Randy has the best episodes, so they better ditch Sharon.  They've already pretty much gotten rid of Stan's sister haven't they?  I can't remember seeing her lately.

They like shaking things up and have said in the past that if a joke gets old or they get bored of it, it will disappear.  For example, Kenny doesn't die anymore.  Around when it stopped happening I recall hearing an interview where they said it was getting in the way of telling the actual story.  That's why Stan & Kyle started saying their lines so deadpan.  The sister got old long before she disappeared.

I imagine the focus on characters other than the kids for long stretches is another symptom of this mindset.  I think deep down they really want to do other things, like their Broadway show,  but know where there money comes from.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

This series ran out of steam a long time ago. I will still watch it, because they do throw up the odd great episode, but most are severely meh.

I also thought this, but I am currently a deeply cynical asshole, so maybe it was meant to make me feel like that.

I agree with them not being out of steam.  Almost every season has a few truely terrible episodes, but they usually redeem themselves.  They pump out episodes so fast though that there's bound to be some shitty ones every once and a while.
