Is the Ipod an old thing now? This is what happens when you abandon music in the 90s.

Yes, everyone has an integrated player in their smartphone or streams Spotify and Pandora.

Unless you're like me and refuse to own a phone and still have an 16GB nano and believe that ownership > rental so you actually buy music.  In a physical form. (The horror.)

I haven't owned a music player since 2003, so that makes sense.

Yeah.  It seems the theme of modern tech is the inferior but easier to use product will always replace the one that actually provided a better experience.

Or, to put it another way, being easier to use provides a better overall experience.

I used to think that too.  Then I looked at my 1,000 or so CDs, most of which I hadn't listened to in their native or at for years, and got the hell rid of them.  I wish I could get rid of the phone.  It's like a fucking boat anchor.

Huh. I have a bunch of mp3s on my smartphone. I simply copied them over from my pc when I got the phone.

My problem is that smart phones gobble battery power, and so they're constantly in need of recharging. Makes the thing unreliable as hell. (Yes, I turned off my location, wifi, etc, and only turn them on when necessary.)

*edit* I should proast something relevant.

As usual it's impressive. I like the chick Force's body the best of the females. Colin Kaepernick is probably the most ripped up out of the dudes, although Stanton might give him a run for the title.

I can't even begin to imagine the work those people put into their physique.

Pretty much imagine going to work everyday and instead of doing your job, you're working out that whole time. That's pretty much what it boils down to.

I mean, I was a caddy for 3 years and I was hauling bags 5 hours 6 miles a day double shoulder with about 40-50 pounds on my back.

I was in good shape, but never anything close to those dudes. Even with strength and conditioning, I still think they are just freaks of athletic nature I can't reach. Which is a good thing because it's impressive.

That's part of it. It's also the quality of the training and the focus too.

In my competitive swimming/diving years, I was doing 20,000 yards of swimming a day and an additional two hours of weight training on top of that.

These guys have coaches that push them harder than mine ever did and they've also got dietitians whose only jobs are to feed them the stuff to get them as lean and mean as possible.

That said, they're also at the tops of their games and to get there, you have to be a bit of a freak of nature, so you're right, most people can't get there.

Kaepernick is flatly a phreak of nature though, as said by his teammates as well.  To be honest, he's not even in playing-shape in those pics... he's even more ripped then that.   Ohhhhh, I see.
I used to play state level football in high school.  And it's nothing like any other sport in the way it tortures your body.  Couple of the fellas (some of which played in the NFL) called me the other day to hit the gym actually, but THOSE GUYS pay $100/month to attend a player-owned gym full of football-level pliometrics, crosstraining, freeweights, and spotting.  It's an entirely different animal when you're surrounded by real athletes instead of soccer moms and raquetball yuppies.  If you survive, you win.

There's footage floating around of the Texans player, JJ Wyatt(?) who does a 55" standing leap onto a platform.  It blew my fucking mind.

That's awesome. In my prime, at 5' 7", I had a four-foot vertical. Couldn't play basketball for my ass, but I could dunk on people a foot taller.

Aaaand, just to keep it on topic I submit the following...
