I need at least some sandboxy world features to keep my interest. I try to make the best of other types of games, but really, they're shit. The only "world-y" game that I outright quit was Eve, but that's only because it resembles a bloomberg ticker surrounded by a black hole of nothingness. So it's shit too.

Also, I need more than a handful of cookie cutter classes. That helps.

Not all the servers will be open for the early access and they've not even put up a list of names yet.  I think Schildy will have to come up with a plan, like picking a letter or a number or an egg or sommat.  Also, are we going to uselessly try and get people to use TS?  Might need it if we actually get to the point where we can have a siege, or if Furiously decides to play.  Whichever comes first.

The gates to Age of Conan open in just a few days from now and legions of adventurers can hardly wait to set foot on Hyborian soil. Many want to chose their future home (also known as ‘Server’) beforehand and we know the list below has been eagerly awaited.

Since we know how important those server names are we ran several polls on all our community forums to find out which names each territory prefers the most. We then distributed those names among the different territories/languages.

These servers are the ones that will be available on 17th of May when the Early Access play starts. The servers are scaled to modern industry standards, and will hopefully serve as your home for years to come! During Early Access we will closely monitor the number of players on each server to find out which types are the popular ones. Additional servers will then be made available for launch.

That is another bizarre thing to do on Funcom's part.  This means that all the geared up, pre-recruited mega guilds are going to be squished onto the same servers and that the launch day ones will only have less organized groups.  And from the other thread they are only doing this so that they can keep closed beta running a few measly more days?  I'm certain they have more bugs to fix than they can handle already so they should just shut down closed beta, make those servers into live ones and let anyone who preordered get the download and play on the seventeenth.  I don't know what these guys are smoking.

The opposite could just as well be true. With the Early Access servers being dominated by a handfull of legacy guilds, the servers coming up later could be the most competitive for players not already in a zerg or legacy guild. Each Early Access PvP server will probably each have 10+ 100 man guilds already linedup. If you have a smallish or new guild that you form inside the game itself, you'll probably never own a city or borderkeep or whatever on an EA server.

Hmm...  In SB the major guilds split up servers to reduce competition adding it's many, many problems.  That could be an issue here as well.
