Well, he was govoner of California for a little bit, but I can understand not knowing of him unless you grew up in California and are familiar with local politics.

That is a very silly thing to do. People doing things like that confuse me. I know where Styria is, but who is Arnold?

HA! It took me fucking forever to figure out that was Arnold Insanelylonglastname! Geez, he's so young there. Did he start bodybuilding at 12 or something? Of course, I know who he is, Teleku! I'm not four! I just didn't make the connection.

Makes me want to know the story, and development thoughts behind it. Anyone know more about it?
It's for construction or roadwork this way you don't have a workman in harms way moving pylons or cones. Funny, I've only ever seen them used for rush hour traffic managment. Add/remove lanes depending on which way needs one more during the day. I grew up with these things in the NYC tri-state area (first one I ever saw was on the Tappan Zee Bridge), and have since seen them in a bunch of places, mostly on other bridges, but also in High Occupancy Vehicle commuter lanes. The Barrier Transfer Machines doesn't drive nearly as fast as that GIF shows them. More like 4-5mph. But the principle is correct. It would make sense to use them for construction I guess. But I usually see temporary barriers used instead. For one, I assume they're a lot easier to cart around (just get more trucks), and for another, they don't need expensive custom equipment to manage (just your bog-standard flatbeds, cranes, backhoes, etc).

All that I found suggested that it was used to shift lanes around to suit rush hour traffic. I don't know where they're used, somewhere in the US I guess. They use them on the Tappan zee Bridge in NY on 287. Edit: Looks like I was beaten to it. Wheeee read the whole thread next time.

Think Portal. He knows. (The tree is still upsidedown even when you're thinking with portals. The base should've been hanging from the ceiling.

I see why they did it since this way the tree would get stuck(it wouldn't) in the portal but that just raises more questions, like why is someone shoving a tree down a portal to begin with!

Who says the tree didn't just jump? Also: Canandian Police Chase. Sorry it's not YouTube. Also not entirely sure it'll play unless you're logged into FB.

That is too funny! Also, why is that man at the end undoing his trousers? What exactly is the penalty for forcing a train to stop?

Would have been funnier if he didn't stick around after the gag so that the driver had to come out and confront him. Just looks like an ass at that point.

Dude, its the Balrog. He stayed back to face it and was dragged straight to jail down into the abyss, remember? Wouldn't be accurate otherwise!
