On my first Scholo run on this char (60 druid) today I got a good blue (Ghostloom Leggings, wearing them) and the Headmaster's Charge. http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=13937 A mage rolled for it against me, but he had been winning all the drops so far and my luck came back. He quickly left the party (we were done anyway) and porteded out without saying anything to anyone. I'm just telling this because I am giddy at FINALLY getting a badass purple weapon (the buff even STACKS with arcane brilliance)- the first purple item, in fact, I have ever equipped (I play the AH a lot with random purples though). My whole guild congratulated me and people in Org were asking where I got that staff (I've only seen 1-2 ever before) :-D I'm betting I'm one of the few people wielding one of those that still wears half greens. Considering I got my first ever epic mount today too, I'd have to say this is my best day of WoW ever. Who else has good WoW stories, when that epic item (Baron Rivendare's Charger, Glowing Brightwood, etc.) fell to you like manna from heaven? Those moments make everything else worth it, I had to share.

Grats :) On my current, on freeze, character I had loads of epics at an early stage. Compared to my mage which had none. lvl 32: Dazzling Longswordlvl 36: The Green Towerlvl 49: Sul'thraze the LasherSul'thraze was the rarest one. I really got to flex my epeen with that, the amount of whispers I got was... Crazy. Good story; I had been doing ZG for ages. Only one Zin'Rokh had dropped. I hadn't really gotten anything from ZG except the bracer set piece and a 18slot bag. And it dropped again. We didn't use DKP for ZG. I was MT, so I felt greedy rolling for it, but I had _only_ taken tank drops that to improve. But I had been waiting for this beauty, and the guild agreed that I should get to roll. Me and a Hunter, first roll: 86-86, Everybody laughed hard on Vent. Round two: 56-56, people couldn't believe it. Final Round! Fight!: The hunter rolls first, 36. Poor, so I'm up, take a deep breath, and; 37! Vent on fire, the Hunter and me couldn't believe our eyes, thinking two of them should have dropped instead of one :p One happy cow after that run! Bad story; Losing out on - Gyth's Skull of NR, Finkel's Skinner, Breastplate of Valor and The Blackblade of Shahram in one UBRS run. Logged of, assumed fetus position and cried. I lost the Epic 2H to a hunter, which was just grinding salt in my already oversized wound.

This one day I quit WoW and ever since then I've been able to get my fix on these forums without any monthly fee! It's like Christmas every day.

The forum doesn't drop epics The idea of WoW is often more appealing then the game itself. So I'm crossing my fingers for some fresh stuff in TBC, and doing some fun stuff in the old instances.

Seen the Void robe plan drop each time too.. did you get it also?

I've had a charmed life with epics and have had a lot drop over my three characters for no reason whatsoever. One I'm most bizarred out by was the Myrmidon's Signet that dropped off a wee technician scrote in BRD. I was on as my warrior at the time, so it was duly handed to me.
Trouble with epics is that first time feeling wears off real quick.

My feral druid's about to hit 50, and i'm dreading the day when i'll "have" to re-spec resto just to be invited to any instance/raid groups. I love being a feral druid!

On my main [warlock] I've not seen a single usable epic drop in any of the 5-man instances, and I've been playing quite consistently since nov 2004. Hell, I had to run scholo 80+ times [yes I counted] to get my dreadmist helm (zero Alanna's Embraces or Headmaster's Charges) and I've run UBRS enough times to see 4 Felstrikers, two Blackblades, two Carapaces and a Pristine Hide [which was summarily ninjad]. In contrast, my warrior got the Chromatic Carapace during the 2nd UBRS run I did... and I've seen the Headmaster's Charge drop twice (passed both to priests, it's not a warrior weapon, kek) ... and my priest got the Dagger of Eternal Darkness off Princess Theredras in the only Mara run I've done. He also got the rare robe Alanna's Embrace on the first Scholo run I did as a fresh 60. (male dwarves look especially sexy in Alanna's Embrace btw, go go pink dress! :p)

Here's my good story. I had been tanking an MC run for our alliance for about 3 months, and I'd accrued some pretty good positive DKP. With our system, you basically added your DKP to 100 and then you rolled for items. So, having the highest points didn't necessarily mean you'd just steamroll through things. Anyway, we kill Garr and the Bindings of the Windseeker drop. We'd discussed it beforehand and the person who one the bindings would have a HUGE dkp hit, but they were guaranteed both. So, nobody is rolling on them, but I'm thinking about it. I add up my points and see that I could roll with a 250. So I decide to roll.
I rolled a 2 on the legendary. Out of 250. And I won them. This was a week after winning my Wrath helm with an uncontested roll of a 1. That secured my status in our alliance as the worst roller ever.

Great Story. As to the Epic 2H, you forgot the basic philosophy of every single hunter in the history of the game- Every Weapon Is A Hunter Weapon.
Hey now. Every class has its lewt whores. Warriors are just as bad, if not worse, than Hunters. There's just tons more of us, so folks notice it more. There was a warrior in my guild who rolled on every. single. weapon. that dropped when we were running UBRS/ Scholo as regular guild runs. Why? "I can use it, so why shouldn't I roll?" That aside, that particular hunter was a tool for rolling on a weapon with no stats and a melee proc. THOSE types of players you can bitch about all you want.

I dragged one of my RL friends on a guild ZG run a while back. He was never really a raider, but he was my RL friend, so he was in the guild. We killed the Tiger boss, and he dropped the super rare Tiger mount. Everyone freaked out, but in the end as a group we decided to give it to my friend, since he was the only person in the raid that didnt have an epic mount. This was a blessing and a curse. First, it was awesome to see a Tauren Shaman riding a tiger, and he didnt have to pay the 900 gold for his epic. On the downside, for about 3 months every time he entered Org he would get, no joke, about 30 tells asking about the mount. In the end he just set a Afk macro to respond to all the questions that he got.

My first ever epic was the Bloodlord's halberd from ZG. I never expected to hit max level in WoW (I had never done so before in any other game) much less raid. That night, I had a dream that if I didn't duel someone and win before I left the instance, I'd lose it. I thought that was BS (in the dream) so I left the instance and watched it fade from my inventory.
Later, I got a better 2h. We were on our third or fourth Ragnaros kill, and the guild leader said over vent: "Guys... I don't think you're going to beleive this..." He linked the Eye of Sulfuras. I was like, oh cool, someone's going to be happy. The officers had a quick meeting over /officer chat and decided to go outside the usual DKP system since it was a special drop. They voted and the lucky recipient was... me.
My wife was playing at the time, and she heard the news not much more than a minute later in Darnassus. This was before global LFG chat, and also before the Hand of Rag was very common, so it was funny how fast news traveled. Also, someone in general made a crack to the effect that I must never get out, or knew what a woman might look like (as anyone who gets legendaries must) and she told them that I was married, and in fact she was my wife. Of course no one bought it. Someone on vent said "haha, someone in Darnassus is claiming to be Fenjay's wife".

My guild was working on ZG and we just killed the Bloodlord. Our main tank is wearing almost full T2 and wields Quel'sarrar. I was the only other warrior in a mishmash of T0/T0.5 and a Timeworn Mace. We were using a feral druid as another tank. First thing that drops is the Bloodlord's Defender, a really nice tanking weapon. Since the main tank was using Quel and the druid tank couldn't use a sword, it defaulted to me! Shiny red glowy sword! The other thing that the Bloodlord dropped was the Overlord's Crimson Band. Main tank already had it. Bear tank didn't want it. Defaulted to me again! Bloodlord was my own personal lewt pinata! The funniest thing was I equipped the sword and tried using when we were clearing trash to the next boss. I couldn't hit a damn thing! Parry, dodge, parry, parry, miss! I finally hit... for 6 points. At first I thought my sword was bugged. Then I realized I was the one who was bugged. I haven't used a sword in ages and my sword skill was sitting at 192/300...

My first epic was on my Fire Mage was when a guild hunter found an Eye of Flame ( http://www.thottbot.com/?i=15481). I bought it from him for about 50 gold, plus about 100ish gold worth of blues, potions, and trade goods. I promptly put the item to fantastic use in mass PVP when combined with Blink, Blast Wave, and Combustion. Few things are more distinct though then a troll with a monocle.

I loved feral too. But to see any of the high-end stuff (ie, good enough guild to see it) I pretty much had to. If I can ever find a guild that wants me as a tank I am so there. I main healed just fine on my Druid with a 1/29/21 Feral Hybrid spec. As long as you have either Heart of the Wild or Moonglow/Tranquil Spirit you can do really well. Going heavy in Resto (i.e. Swiftmend) if you're pre-MC is such a waste because you don't really have the gear to take full advantage of it. That said though, grats :D. First 5-man epic I ever picked up was the Blade of Eternal Darkness on my UD Priest. Too bad when I finally got to try it out in PvP... it blew chunks :(.
