If there's a better magazine about gadgets/tech out there than Wired!,
Popular Mechanics was always a good read.  I haven't had a magazine sub in years, though so I make no comment on its current state.
Until fairly recently I had subscriptions to both Wired and Popular Science.  Wired is entertaining and occasionally has that one really great article, but it's mostly fluff compared to Pop Sci.  It's like Pop Sci for the Reader's Digest set.
