If I ever own a company, I'm going to have the most lax dress code ever, except on Fridays. Suit Up Fridays. Motherfuckers are gonna look dapper when they go out and get trashed after work. Fuck, I love suits.

Honestly though, I really would like to wear more suits. Anyone who lives in Texas knows though that you actually do need a serious fucking excuse to wear one. Climate-wise, and culture-wise.

OMG, NowhereMan, you wear a cravat!  You really ARE David Niven!

While I do own one I've only ever worn it for fancy dress simply because it just seems too much. I do however own and wear a selection of bow ties.

I have never had to work anywhere with a real dress code before, but after some of the female members of staff started taking the piss here by wearing miniskirts, strappy tops etc (which I admit that I appreciated right up until the point where it impacted me directly) and of course telling them alone to conform to a dress code in today's climate would have opened the company up to legal action.  So suddenly we had "smart casual" inflicted up on us.

"Smart casual" being a contradiction in terms, I had no intention to adhere, so I bought a dozen new suits and happily break the dress code every day.

Such a great idea dude.  I've been doing something similar on Mondays.  Get way over dressed for work every Monday.  Haven't fully suited up though.

I fucking love wearing suits.  I can't see how anyone wouldn't.  If I had lots of money, I'd just buy fancy fucking suits all the time.

And a top hat.

No monocole though.

PS: I love suits.

PPS: I think I would buy tons of shoes too.

They're warm as hell, for one.

I only have warm weather suits. Guess how they fare against 30ºC.

Right. I'll remain inside, where it's 29ºC with stagnated air because the state decided to dick around with the budget. Those marble steps sure are nice looking, though.

For two, you can't throw them into a washing machine.

Of course you can't throw them into a washing machine.  It's a suit.  It requires delicate washing by immigrant hands.

Sucks about your airconditioner.  You should get a job where you can wear a suit and it's deliciously cool all year round (inside).

Fuck, I think I'll buy a sexy hat this week too.

Sure you can.  You may not like the outcome... but you can certainly wash them in a washing machine!  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I wear suits in 105 degree 100% humidity weather, but they are summer suits.  Hell, I wore a black summer suit in 114 degree weather for a walk on the beach in Kuwait last year.

I also wear suits in -13 degree weather, but they are winter suits and I use an overcoat.

There are very few bad times to wear a suit, in fact the only place I feel uncomfortable wearing one is on an airplane.

Clothes make the man and all that jazz.

Physiologically speaking, it's better to wear long sleeves and pants in hot weather.  It slows the rate of evaporation and helps sweat do a better job of cooling.

In the south you'll see people wearing suits all summer long.

I live in the south. We don't.

Alas, while it may be better, it doesn't feel better, hence, most either use short sleeves or roll them up.
Now, if you were talking about a desert, then yes, I could agree with you.

If you want to argue about human physiology, I'd be happy to engage in that discussion.  As for the south, I live there too.  Apparently you don't have many traditional southern gentlemen where you live.

What "feels better" isn't always really better.  We have the luxury of wearing short sleeves and shirts because a) it never really gets that hot in the US (outside of the western deserts) and b) because we have easy access to water.

Wha? You wanna compete? I'll out-south you!
Grab a world map, find Brasil. Good. Now, inside that place find Paraná. There. THAT'S  where I am, y'know, in the South. I Win. Yay me!
Like you said it yourself, it's a luxury. I can afford it. No reason to wear a bloody suit and get sweaty to the max.

So, when are you shipping that modafinil to me?  why so serious?

After the modafinil arrives. Come on, mate, I deposited the money in the account you asked. It's been two days already and you haven't even given me a tracking number yet.

I'm so getting you arrested.

Man.. Southern gentleman. I don't wtf you guys are on about. Aren't you from Ohio or something? And then Sky, up in NY. Freakin' Yankees, waxing poetic and shit. There's plenty of southern hospitality here - which is what the "gentleman" part is really about, but some dude wearing some kentucky fried chicken suit is probably going to get laughed at in Texas. Whilst sweating his balls off in 95 degree Spaghetti Western From Hell weather. In the winter. You will be wearing long sleeve garb on most days - if and only you ride a bike. Besides that, I don't know.. The used Cadillac salesman is wearing a suit a lot, I guess.

Suits are horribly uncomfortable bits of cloth and ties were a foppish affectations instituted by Louis XIV to imitate Croatian soldiers.  To hell with both of them.

Yes, this.

I own 3 or 4 suits...not sure I can fit any of them anymore, as I no longer really have the opportunity to wear them.  I think it's the kind of thing you have to get used to.  It may suck for the longest while, but eventually you begin to realize that suits are cool.  It was extra cool when I was a smoker, too.  Suits and smoking are the height of cool.
