We had a re-org at work and I am dreading going in today.

Bob Slydell: No. No, of course not. We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

Best halloween display was about 5 blocks from my house. The actual display was kinda lame, but they had the most fucking coolest awesomesplendid skinned corpse laid out on a table. It's like the whole yard was done in decent but average (cut above walmart display type stuff) and then there was this massive dollop of amazing. And it was really creepy looking, I had to drive by twice. I'd set that thing in a chair by the front window just to keep motherfuckers in line. Maybe put it in a dress and call myself Norman.

I've never seen so many kids I wanted to strangle.  They don't say "Trick or Treat" anymore, they bitch if they don't like the candy, and they bitch about wanting more than one or two.

Greedy little bastards.
That's when you close the door on them. Maybe grab their bags first, but definitely close the door.

See if they like to be sprayed with water.  I'll put down five that they won't like it.

What's with spraying water around here?  If your cat misbehaves, spray her with water.  If you don't like some kid, spray him with water.  I don't even know what "put down five" means, but I'll bet it has something to do with spraying water.

On Halloween, I only managed to make one Trick or Treater cry. But he wasn't dressed up and I told him candy causes cancer.

Next year I'm going with: "I don't see your mommy, is she hitting the bottle again?"

If he is saying something awesome, I think by "putting down five" he means slapping/punching them in the face. If not, I have no idea.

We put up a few dummies, paste blood all over them, set up giant spiders/spider web, blood prints, redrum in blood, blacklights etc. We have this really awesome CPR mask that was taken from a plaster mold of some dead woman they found in a river, if you put some makeup on it, it looks just like a head/skinned face.

7 years or so ago, we really went all out. We had a fog generator and rigged the giant spider to fall down in front of the door right on top of them. Me and a couple friends dressed up in old clothes and pretended to be dummies, and scared the shit out of kids.

It kind of sucked this year, only set up the spiders/blood/dummy. Not even a pumpkin. We still have kids that are afraid of the dummies. Makes me feel all gooey inside.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Does anyone here actually just savor an iced coffee?

I just blow through them, and grab another. That ain't good. Going back to hot, just to pace myself.

When I make them myself and actually take time to make a good one then yes, I like to savour it. I have also been known to use instant coffee, condensed milk and generous amounts of sugar to make quick and tasty beverage I blow through and then get the shakes from since they taste too sweet to have caffeine.

Actually speaking of coffee a previous tenant in the house I'm living in left a 3 cup stove top Espresso pot. I am seriously considering buying a bigger one just because it makes fucking nice coffee. Doing two lots without changing gives me a decent amount of coffee that's not somewhere between an espresso and an americano though, which is nice.

Iced coffee to me is just a beverage, something you drink because you are thirsty.  Hot coffee on the other hand, well, it's a requirement, a necessity.  I can get caffeine from diet coke, it's not the point.

Me too, Murgos.  I love coffee and even got one of those pricey coffee makers that grind and brew it immediately.  I completely wash and dry every bit of it before making a new pot because I want my coffee perfect.  I know I'm obsessive about it but I swear I can tell the difference.  My nephew works at a coffee shop (he's a struggling musician living with a gorgeous struggling artist) and sometimes brings me lovely beans.  The nicest thing about this time of year, too, is that some really awesome dark rich blends come out for the holidays.  Seattle's Best doesn't carry my favourite coffee beans but I quite enjoy their holiday blend.  (it's what I made this morning!)

That's seriously awesome, have you got any pics?

I'd love to do something like that but trick-or-treating is done really half-arsedly here in the UK in my experience. Most you get is one or two pairs of kids, usually not even in costume of any kind, chapping the door and asking for sweets. It's just not a big event like it seems to be in America, although all my knowledge of that comes from TV & movies so I have no idea what it's really like   awesome, for real

When home I use a Bunn coffee maker. Brews a whole pot of some of the best coffee in about 2.5 minutes. The downside is running the little heater inside to keep the water hot all the time has to add $ to my power bill.
Thankfully, one of my friends has gotten big into roasting his own coffee, so he sends me a couple pounds of stuff to try every few weeks. And 3-5# of Yemen moca and a Tanzanian peaberry I'm fond of. Roasted to full city plus. Heavenly, and saves me from buying more than a pound of beans a week.

Something I just realized while watching HDNet...

Most young women (meaning without cellulite, wrinkles, plastic surgery or whatever) look better in clothes than they do in bathing suits.

Flab, unsightly hair and blemishes don't hide well in HD. The pr0n industry is learning this.

No, this has nothing to do with flab, hair or anything of that sort.

Just the odd body shapes (why do most models have no hips?).

I officially hate daylight savings time. With the shorter days of autumn, I could maybe get home with enough time to get in a half-hour of painting or caulking. Now it's sunset before quitting time. Goddamned democrat sunlight socialism.

The theory behind this that I heard is that clothes are supposed to hang on a model, not be defined by their body.  You could get the same desired effect by putting them on a hangar and sending it down the runway, but then there's no emotional scars or pale emaciated flesh there to sate our internal sadist..
