The world is a bleak and depressing place. *sigh* Just heard on the radio that a comedian (Vic Hendley) almost got fired from the last night of his appearance at The Funnybone, Toledo because he booted a guy out of his show. The owners said "you were causing a disturbance." The disturbance was actually him ripping-into a guy in the audience who heckled the black comedian who had appeared before and then yelled out, "He's a coon," when Vic was talking about President Obama. Also this week in racism: A Cincinnati property owner is in court for hanging a "Whites Only" sign on her property's "public" swimming pool. Her reasoning? "The little black girl uses chemicals in her hair that make the water all cloudy." Even more depressing than that has been reading the comments on the news stories.

Yahoo's comments section has been broken for like a week. I think more places should do that as it keeps me from easily finding out how dumb and stupid people truly can be when they have anonymity.

That's astonishing. This is 2011, not 1961. Stories like this make me happy to live where stories like this astonish people. Maybe you should move. These things don't happen everywhere.

Well they happen more frequently in the Midwest, I'll grant you that. I also enjoy the hell out of my workplace but if I can find someplace as cool I'd happily move. The day got better for me. Work bought all the permanent employees Kindle Touches. The day also got worse. Work bought all the permanent employees Kindle Touches and I just bought one for the wife's x-mas gift on Tuesday.

Hopefully one of them doesn't have your initials monogrammed into it and you'll be fine. This sounds like a win-win to me. That way she won't always be looking to use yours and vice versa.

So I am happy as my speakers and subwoofer I bought in 1998 that have not been hooked up since 2002 are all in perfect working order. (I bought a Pioneer 5.1 receiver for $140 bucks from newegg on "cybermonday" and was just now able to hook it up).
Time to watch some big explodey movies!

Even in other blue states. And it isn't like the Bay Area is some kind of racism-free paradise, so yeah. Frightening.

I've got to avoid mentioning things like this sound certain members of my extended family because there's a greater than zero chance I'll hear about how it was totally reasonable and possibly that the EU are destroying people's rights to help illegal immigrants. Fucking Irish rednecks.

So either start some shit in politics or strike up some interesting conversation in here that doesn't pertain to the typical weather/racism/computer geekery/health problems conversation.

Here's some new discussion. I love it when people try and lie about their efforts of trying to get in touch with people in this day and age. It's not like my phones don't all have caller ID to tell me whether or not you've actually tried that phone call, and it's certainly odd that you are the only person out of hundreds that was able to stealth call my phone and not leave a message.

What's the correct answer when someone you are sleeping with tells you they have considered getting a breast augmentation?

Needs pics to form the proper response But in general I really dislike breast implants unless they are done in Japan and then it's a maybe.

In head voice: "Fucking awesome!!!!" (especially if they had kids and breastfed). Outside head voice: "Whatever you want honey, but I think you are beautiful just the way you are."

Why Japan?
The techniques they use more often in Japan (e.g. submuscular, navel incision, implant partially filled) make the augmented breasts look more natural... ...or so I've been told

"Whatever you want honey, but I think you are beautiful just the way you are."
I think that's just about perfect in most situations. Mind you, if she's already amply endowed in that area, my response would be more negative and vehement. I'd hate to see a girl whom God has already graced with magnificent breasts getting them cut on because of body dysmorphism or whatever.

It's just that the clients want the "I'm a pornstar and I've got two minibasketballs on my chest" look. "Whatever you want honey, but I think you are beautiful just the way you are."

Some women do have breasts that are just so large and unwieldy that they are much happier to get them decreased in size.

I went with, "Why do you think you need one?" Answer was: Kids destroyed my boobs and I want them back. Response was, "Well, that's cool then we'll look in to it sometime." All was kosher.
