Second interview went 1.5 hours and included the ops manager and a member of her team, which would be who I report to/work with if hired.

That's good, right?

You'd think.  The longest job interview process I had ended with a "hey guy, thanks for the resume" (grrr Google), while the rest of my jobs have been rather short processes.

Best of luck!

My last app process went 9-10 months, with about 2 days of interviews, so...who knows on interview length.

I'd have jobs with no interviews, and failed to get jobs (once, Target lol) after a long process.

Many decades ago?  There's a reason you don't see too many these days...that kind of passive stimulation (for lack of a better word) has been largely called out as a bad idea.  Also on the list, never get baby one of those crazy walkers either.

If babies were hard work, stupid people wouldn't have so many.

I thought my daughter was far easier as a baby than she ever was as a toddler.  Damn ambulation.

Ease of a baby seems tightly coupled to their sleep cycles.  I quickly figured out how to take care of my son without killing him, but he kept me from sleeping for a whole year.  Come to think of it, he is a big reason why I can't sleep now.  Bad dreams and a mother-hen mommy.

If babies were hard work, stupid people wouldn't have so many.

You are thinking of making them.  I'm supposing Soln means doing it correctly is hard work.  Easy enough to leave your baby in the car while you go into the strip club.

LOL!  No, this wasn't the HP position I was talking about.  It was with a local area bank for a project coordinator/manager.

I'm not expecting to hear anything about the HP position for several months at the rate they do things.

IT work for a bank blows.  Especially with what you just described.  Seriously, you are waaaaaay better off.

IT in the financial industry is "special" yes. When I left the bank I worked at in 2000, we were just upgrading everyone to Windows 95 from 3.11 for Workgroups. 98 had been out for years, but dammit we weren't about to jump straight into that newfangled stuff. As a general rule there is not a lot of early adopting going on there, you can expect to be working with a lot of old tech.

Holy crap, I ordered a bluetooth mini-card for the new laptop figuring i'd just pop it in, man what a total pain in the ass.  Involved removing about 30 screws, the keyboard, the entire face plate/palm rest, and unplugging just about every cable that could be unplugged.  On the flip side the Dell service manuals that they have made available online kick ass.

Just went and saw Faith No More up in San Francisco last night for my 31st birthday.  Was a good time, and they even brought the original singer Chuck Mosley on stage for a few songs.

We have a client who up until about a month ago, hosted their web server on a Lotus Notes web server.

UNPOSSIBLE! You might think so, but somehow, some way, they used the goddamn thing for web hosting. It was a goddamn trainwreck. The fucking thing couldn't do shit, but they spent years fighting us on doing real hosting somewhere. They finally moved off of it to a shitty content management system called Umbraco, which means I don't really have much work to do for them anymore. Amazingly, I'm not at all dismayed by this notion.
