High stress levels all other times mean you relax enough and your immune system says "fuck it all, ahhhhhh" then gets invaded.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

So, if all the cool Nerf N-Strike stuff isn't available in the UK, stop fucking advertising it on my fucking TV.  Now I want to buy the fully automatic Nerf gun, but CAN'T.

Cocksuckers.

They are glorious.  You're missing out.  First time I saw them on TV, I went and spent way too much money on a half dozen different kinds.  At first I felt kinda...wrong..about giving my 4.5 year old a couple of 'guns' for us to run around the house shooting the dog wife two year old daughter each other but I figure I'm training him well for the zombie apocolypse.

Have you gotten into modding them yet?  You can turn them into serious fun if you're willing to tinker.  :)

Mostly more powerful springs and the like, combined with reinforcement of the plastic innards to tolerate the extra stress.  The only downside is that you can't really use them indoors anymore unless you like replacing televisions and other breakables.

There's also a mod for the revolver to let the chamber open further.  Makes reloading it easier and looks cooler.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

If you can break a television with it it isn't too safe.

Well, that's why he's got 3 clips instead of the 1 clip that came with the gun.  He quickly caught-on that more clips means an even longer time reloading and finding the darts when they're empty, so he doesn't want any more clips.
My three year old nephew learned he could shoot his nerf gun at my father-in-law's vaulted ceiling (two story house, the second floor overlooks the living room) and get it stuck on a rafter 20+ feet up.

Then point and say "Get it, Momma!". Which is why the telescoping pool scoop leans against the wall of my in-laws otherwise meticuloiusly decorated home.

Having the flu sucks.  Not having anyone around be sympathetic and make soup while I lie on the couch under a bunch of blankets making pitiful noises just sucks beyond belief.   Sad Panda

Yeah, actually my only ever flu shot.  I am not convinced as to its efficacy.

I love my job. Well, not the "working all night" part. But I got to sign my name to a giant-ass poster that'll end up hanging wherever Endeavour goes, I got to see a shuttle launch, one land, one rolling around 20 feet from me, toured the pad, stuffed my head inside the shuttle and waved at people prepping it for launch...

Sucks I'll have to move on. This prompted by signing the big-ass poster on my way into my workstation this evening.

I got a flu shot, then got stomach flu 3 times in a 3 month span.  Of course, stomach flu isn't really flu so..  awesome, for real

Any year I skip a flu shot, I tend to get a day or two of good ole fashioned influenza.  Now with a child, I don't get to forget.

And.. back from a week in NYC.  Had a good time, and I like traversing cities where you don't need a car at all.  Got quite the workout by having to either lug a 2 year old or a stroller up and down stairs at the subways several times a day.  Kid loved the subway.

However, it was a bit of a pain eating out where almost no restaurants had high chairs.  The only ones that did were pubs.

This has often been my experience as well.  I have a very close friend that is a PhD on the staff that makes the decisions on which strains go into the vaccine and he assures me that it does work, however.  Hope you feel better soon.

I just had my eyes dilated by the eye doctor for the first time.

I cannot read what I am typing very well. It is also extremely bright in this room where I usually have the light on to see.

Speaking of the flu- I heard last week or so that researchers had isolated a part of the flu virus that doesn't ever mutate, and will thus be able to develop vaccines against that section (which would cover almost all flu variants, instead of just a handful year to year). I haven't been able to dig up a link about it yet, so perhaps my fevered imagination has again had its way with me.

Covers bird and swine flu too.

Let me state that whatever people were involved in isolating this, shouild it pan out, should have money and praises thrown upon them for the rest of their lives. A real vaccine for the flu might not be as sexy as one for smallpox, but a flu epidemic would be bad. Very bad. Even in the first world.

I'll believe it when I see it.  They've talked about this sort of vaccine before, but it's never panned out.
