That's awsome. I love his AC/DC cover when he was 3. He even sings the lyrics. You can see his passing puzzlement when he's trying to sing, "Women to the left of me, women to the right". He's all, Uhm, who cares?

I should get back to nature, too. You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer. Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached. Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

That video pisses me off. Not for the naked guy who's clearly out of his mind on something but the large crowds of people shouting at the officers as if they were monsters. I'm not naive to think the police never fuck with people but the mod mentality that was forming was creepy. Shouting things like "The world is watching" and all the rest, rubs me the wrong way. The comments on the vid will piss you off even more, then. :awesome_for_real Holy crap, if you had John Cleese and Terry Jones read the dialogue and you'd think they wrote it.

Nope. I am pretty sure I could do the same, at least for one or two flights, if I was willing to lock my foot like he did (I'm not - one slip and his leg is broken at the shin). I don't have quite those muscles, though I'm working on it :)

You don't have to be very buff to do stuff like that. The foot getting jammed in like that is pretty dicey, though, given how slick wood stairs can be. All you need is to hook the toes imo.

You can't hook the toes really, since the stairs overlap - you can't get your foot in there to hook the toes without turning it sideways, and then your foot is locked in. Slickness isn't an issue since he's wearing climbing shoes, they have plenty of grip on straight wood surfaces. I'd be worried about my hand slipping - if your hands come off, your leg is coming off with them.
The one section that requires a good deal of strength on each landing is the transition to the bottom step and the two move straight campus (hands only) from the first step -> second step -> third step before he slides his feet in. 0:42 to 0:55. I can tell by his movements that he's a fairly accomplished climber but as hard/impressive as it looks to a layman anyone who has been climbing for a while is probably able to do the same. I'd love to try it!

Not sure what you mean, he's using toeholds for most of it. And yeah, I meant hand slippage.
I'd be able to do it, the transition would be tough for me now. Been a few years since I've done any climbing beyond some bouldering or small cliffs, but once you've done that kind of thing for 25+ years, it's just kind of how your body works.
I still do the thing where you run and hop from rock to rock, not sure if there's a name for it, been doing it since I was a kid. I just get scared doing it now that I'm old and creaky :) I've only fallen once in the last few years, and my fiancee was amazed because I actually fell about six times as I kept almost saving myself. Looked to her like I was breaking bones all over the place, but I'm very good at falling correctly and walked away with a couple scratches on my forearm (where I missed a handgrip coming down) and no bruises. I was pretty impressed with myself and wish she'd been filming it.

Maybe he is; I always thought using your foot like that was a bar, not a toehold. I think it's just semantics. Either way, my brain screamed "Bad idea! Bad idea!"

I was simply amused until they got to the bumper line for the next story. Pity I was drinking coffee at the time, now I have a mess to clean up.

Eh...not to keep yanking at this :P Yeah, he's definitely jamming the foot in under the first tread, then I think he was using normal toeholds after he got up a couple steps. I'm just not sure why, but I'd have to try it first. Most of my strength is in my legs, too, but it doesn't seem natural to do it that way.

Edinburgh Bike Parkour Best Bike Parkour. It is even more amazing when you know some of those locations and the heights involved. The camera doesn't do some of them justice...
