I'm sure it would hurt like hell, but I can't see it being very effective at actually stopping people from getting past unless it kills them. This isn't a video game where when you touch the thing that hurts you it knocks you back, just run into the damn thing and you'll make it past, albeit a little worse for wear.

Wow, that was awsome to see again. If you're curious, this is from the show El Hombre y La Tierra, by naturalist Felix Rodrigez de la Fuente. Another great piece of footage filmed by him was a play-by-play chase of an Iberian wild goat by a wolf pack. Unfortunately, very hard to find on the internet due to copyright issues. He probably single handedly prevented the extinction of the European wolf from the Iberian peninsula. He devoted most of his life to conservancy, and produced and directed the above show, which aired on Spanish speaking television for most of the 70s and 80s. |
