I take it you have never been to a karaoke bar with Koreans before, the video you posted is really tame.

See, that movie completely fucked over my positive memories of Castle Greyskull.

I had successfully blanked out He-Man for about two decades until I saw your post.

Speaking of favourite shows from our childhoods this was mine loved He-man too. I remember that action movie looking at it now it really was a complete starwars ripoff and not true to the cartoon at all.

I absolutely loved this movie when I was a kid.  It had everything I loved.  He-man, evil soldiers with lasers, Billy Barty.  And things I loved more as I grew up: Dolph Lundgren's acting, Courtney Cox, evil bondage chick.  The cartoon was a huge pile of suck in retrospect too, let's not forget that!

If you think about it, each individual is responsible for a single synchronized move with a plackard or dohickey of varying colour. Its not really any different than handbell ringing, just done on a massive scale. Sure, Asian cultures often love to do thing in large numbers for greater effect, but I'd veer away from references to suicide for the Emperor..just seems off the mark here.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I find handbell-ringing worrying too, in the same worrying, never-question-orders way as a blast-on-a-whistle-and-over-the-top-chaps charge.
