The World's Worst Game: Curry or Covid

Reply #562 on: June 27, 2006, 03:09:13 PM

The person who actually ran him over looked like they weren't even paying attention.

Imagine minding your own business, heading to work on the freeway going 60+ mph and suddenly seeing a body appear on the road in front of you.

Now, stop in time to avoid said body while all the other cars are slamming on their brakes as well.

Uh huh.  Thought so.

I'm like a damn hawk when I drive. There's no way I would have missed a truck starting to roll Towards me from the other lane.

Also, it looks like the person may have been driving a SUV or Minivan. Thankfully, my car has a lot more agility than something like that, so I have a much easier time dodging stuff in the road, potholes or otherwise...I actually did have to dodge something that fell off a truck a few weeks back during a morning commute. I have no idea what it was, book it took up the whole lane.

I probably would've seen and tried to dodge the guy, thereby smashing into another car and only compounding an already bad situation.

I don't come to this thread often but now Iwill never, ever come to useless videos again, just in case.  I have no idea what possessed you to post this but I have not been able to get it out of my mind since I first saw it, yesterday.  I couldn't even sleep last night.  That was just horrible, horrible, horrible.  I hope that man was dead before he was thrown from that car, I hate thinking he might have been aware of any of it.  There was no reason for that video and I can't think of any reason you'd want us to see it.   cry  I wish there had been a warning.
I am really glad I happened to catch the posts following it before clicking.  That would have made me seriously unhappy to watch.  I'm sorry you did. :(

I don't know why but I really, really liked that ad.  It was so laid back and mildly quirky.

I tend to hate advertising, but I really liked the "No Pinch" commercial. I've seen it a few times on tv.

I have seen that commercial many times before today, and I couldn't remember the name of the car until I saw it again.  Doesn't seem effective even if it is fun.

My favorite current commercial is the recent Jaguar one that uses "I Turn My Camera On" by Spoon. Because I like the song. Why wasn't I informed that they were making fine music in Austin, TX?

I'm definately a fan of the new XK. It has a little bit of Aston Martin in it....though that's probably because one of the designers is from Aston Martin if I remember correctly.

I've always liked Jaguar's, but now that they are owned by Ford I'm less excited about them. But then, I haven't sat in a newer model lately, maybe they kick ass?

Austin probably has the best music scene in Texas (and a lot of other states).

As far as I know, the smaller shops that are now owned by Ford still have a good degree of autonomy. Though, the influence of Ford is clear, at least in regards to Jaguar, when you look at their base-line model, which is/was based off of the damn Taurus - and it was ugly too.

So I hear, but other than The 13th Floor Elevators and Stevie Ray Vaughn (and they were a while back), I'd be hard pressed to name any others from Austin. Lots of non-native music gets attracted to the allegedly great club scene there though. I can name more bands that I know that are from Houston. Possibly even Dallas. Well, maybe not Dallas.

No. When you're scrolling down it's still under the fold when you click the video. Lucky for me I recognized the &q=accident and killed the video 2 seconds into it because I could tell things were going to go bad real quick.
