The chat in the screens on that page are also brilliant.  Blizz knows their players too well.

I got a good chuckle of of Warcraft: Heroes of Azeroth!

"Play a pivitol role in the burning of Stratholme!" "See for the first time the origins of the Blood Elves.."  Heh.

"Murlocs" was just cruel. :(

PvP Catass drama one.
PvP Catass drama two.

I guess a whole bunch of arena teams didn't qualify even though they were on top due to obscure, unknown legal restrictions.  If someone on your team comes from a state where blizzard thinks a virtual ladder competition might be illegal you are disqualified, whoops.

Edit to add another: Cyber the priest above you.  Don't know how long that will stay up.  The priest board almost always has a "Rate the priest above you with the armory" thread and this is a parody.

The Cyber thread is already gone.  8)

As to the legalities... I know where I grew up (Louisiana) MTG:O is illegal, for some reason related to the way money is paid into the system and you can win physical rewards or something.  I dunno, LA has some odd laws.

The problems are actually more than that too. It seems that a few teams have been invited despite having too many ineligible, at least one team has been invited where their paladin is ineligible which screws the team, one team had most of it xfer to another battlegroup entirely and thus has only 1 player in the roster, but they got invited. Probably the worst one is it seems Blizzard took the armory values from the specified end-date to qualify, only the armory is 2 days behind the ingame values so a few teams missed out and are pissed. Lots of muckups from Blizzard on this one.

Not exactly a board thread, but I'm sure many have been spawned from it.

I heard about that on my guild forum a week or two ago. I hadn't seen her pic until now, however. While not exactly attractive, she isn't nearly the wildebeest that the drooling imbeciles on the official forums made her out to be. I suppose taking a forum full of virgins' word for it was my mistake  :-D

Yeah, even here in Ohio: *NOT WORK OR MARRIAGE SAFE* $650 gets you 2-3 one hour sessions with a top-end girl. Though it sounds like this chick wanted to dress up in her LARP costume, is having the guy over a second time, and probably wasn't clock-watching.

Understand that the 'girlfriend experience' costs a lot more.

Frankly, I think they should just make this into a Mastercard commercial.

Since you guys are on this topic:

I received a weird /tell this weekend.

"Hey Dren!!"
"Mew Mew Tokyo."

I instanly put this person on /ignore mainly because I didn't feel like that conversation was going to go anywhere good.  Then I became really curious, but not enough to talk to him/her.

Anyone know what the hell that means?  I figured it was going to be a Cyber for WoW Gold advertisement since I had to live through at least 10 /tells from gold farmers this weekend while playing.  They have really turn up the volume on that crap lately.

There's a character named Dren in a girly anime called Tokyo Mew Mew. They probably thought you were just referencing that.

Now you have to delete your character and reroll, I'm very sorry  tongue.

On another note some people are theorizing that the current spike in gold spammage is due to the armory and people feeling the need to buy blues/purples off the AH to keep up with the Joneses.  The gold sellers are also desperate to get enough gold to fill demand and thus all this keylogging.  The armory supports terrorism, there I said it.

Gold spam is like any other adverstising. You see more of it because it works.  If it didn't work, they wouldn't do it.  About the only recourse Blizz has at this point is to prevent trial accounts from doing ANYTHING other than logging-in and playing in he newbie zones.   Hell, they already took away Mail, banking, & trading. Removing tells won't make that much of a difference.

No wonder I see so many Drens anymore.  I completely made that name up for UO back in, what, 1995?  Let alone it spells Nerd backward, I thought it was unique. BAH!

They took away mail from trial accounts? It hasn't seemed to stop the gold selling spam, as that's almost all the goddamn mail I get nowadays, at least one a day for a week or so there.
